A few years ago we had a flyer in our cabin to get a golf cart from the bike barn at half the regular cost. It was great. But this has only happened once. Has anyone else ever been able to get a reduced rate. We love the golf carts but the cost has become too high. I think they were up to 43.00 a day the last time I was there in January.

If you find one, let me know!! We're renting the 6 person cart and it's a bit more than $43/day!!

Can't help you with your question but do you know what times the daily rates run from/to. We get on site around 10:00 a.m. and I rented a cart for that day so we could go exploring. Do you get to keep them overnight? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The only discount I have seen was a small one for renting for a week.

As I recall, you check out the carts at 1 p.m. and they are due back at 11 a.m. I don't think they have a problem if you show up before 1 p.m. to get the cart (if it is ready).

Does Disney allow you to bring your own golf cart? We were told no, but in reading some of the post here about renting carts from places other than the bike barn it makes me wonder? Does anyone know for sure?

My understanding is you can bring a cart from off site. You may not, however, have it delivered to you from off site. You must bring it to your site yourself.

We are renting a golf cart during our stay and we received a small discount due to the length of time we are renting it for, 11 days.
The cost is still expensive though. But we are willing to pay it for the added convenience.

Just back, and had a weird situation since we had to leave early. The way I had it explained to me was that anything over a seven day rental gets you a flat 10% off. However if you have to return it before seven days (like we had to, family emergency), they have to credit you the original total back, then charge you only for how much you actually used. I was originally told it might not even show up on our checkout receipt (since this was such a last minute thing), but, luckily, it did, so I could make sure that all the numbers added up.

Just a warning, if you REALLY want one, people that didn't call ahead were really ticked off to find out that ALL the carts were rented while we were there (late July/early Aug), so, if you're going at a busy time, best to call ahead (you can always cancel). Also, the CM at the bike barn was giving out the advice that it's much easier to take days off than add them, so I'd keep that in mind, too.

Yes, we LOVED our golf cart, and wouldn't be without one, even if it does cost more than the actual site does!

You can reserve the carts a YEAR in advance

Yes, you may bring your own cart. They must have headlights, brake/tail lights, a horn, and are supposed to be electric. However, I have seen many gas powered carts being used by private owners and FW CMs as well.

The carts are usually 4-seaters but a 3-year-old could easily squeeze in or ride in a lap.
