Ok Sherry now that you are back what fun things did you buy at DL? gingerbread or otherwise
I bought a few of the gingerbread mickey items: Xmas cards, a couple of ornaments and that cute cookie sheet magnet that you posted a pic of earlier!
Well, believe it or not, I didn't buy anything other than a few actual cookies!!!

The Snowball didn't get me this time! It is funny how that works: when I went to DLR in October, I really had very little money with me to spend on anything other than meals. But I saw all kinds of things - Halloween-themed things and non-Halloween things - that I
really wanted to get. I only ended up with a Halloween Mickey mug and a (non-Halloween t-shirt) because I couldn't buy anything else. So this past December trip on the 19th - 22nd, I had a little bit of money with me that I could have spent on souvenirs IF I had seen some things that jumped out at me - and I DIDN'T!!! I even saw the Sale signs in EVERY single shop I went into. Those Sale signs were everywhere, which was so weird to see because they were not that prevalent last year. I know they weren't. But I still didn't buy anything. I just didn't see anything that grabbed me like some stuff does. I think it also has partly to do with the fact that I wanted to know in advance what kinds of things were being sold at DLR this holiday season, so nothing would be a shock and make me feel like I had to get it right there on the spot! That tactic helped! I was surprised to see that the cookie sheet magnet was still being sold this year, as were the ornament in my avatar and the little gingerbread cookie picture frames and such form last year. And on sale, no less! I did NOT see the nifty cookie Castle ornament this time (though it is all over eBay), so I was glad I got that last year.
The only thing I was almost tempted to buy - and I may have caved in if I had been my myself in DLR for a little longer than I was - was another Castle ornament made to look like a cabin in the woods. Did you see that one, DizneyDogs? Again, it was like a mountain cabin version of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, and it had a little sign or tag on it that said "Our Little House in the Woods." It was really cool and I almost got it but didn't. Don't get me wrong - once I buy a thing or two, I can get on a roll and go crazy with the merchandise, no matter what season or time of year. So it is not like I couldn't find anything that I would want. I could literally probably find 10,000 things to buy if I really thoroughly looked in every store! It is just that I had prepared myself enough to expect what was there, and I didn't allow myself too much time to really study the merchandise and get into trouble. I just kind of quickly peeked in some stores and then left to prevent getting into trouble. But that "Little House in the Woods" ornament was really clever and cute, and I hope it is there again next holiday season!!! That was the only out-of-the-ordinary thing that came close to grabbing me!
I also thought that the Tinkerbell posing-with-the-peppermint-candy ornament series was a very cool theme, and there were several of them. In one, she was sitting on the candy. In another, she was holding a bubble with candies in it. You know how I love the food-related ornaments.

Those were very cute, but I avoided temptation with a little bit of logic. I simply do not care that much about Tinkerbell, so I would basically be buying the ornaments just for the peppermint candy, and that seemed silly! Now, if it had been Mickey or Chip and Dale or Pooh sitting on the candy, then we would have had a problem!!!
