am i asking too much? i am new to the board so this may have been covered already but is there any hope of discounts to the deluxe resorts at disney (especially grand floridian). i am not an AP holder and have only heard about that discount. are there any others to be had? i definitely do not want to pay rack rate and have always found discounts on disney's website but do not see any for 2004!!

The AP rates are usualy well worth the price only one person has to buy the AP to recieve the room discount. Other discounts are avl thru AAA not as big of a discount. Following are just some of the discount prices that have been avl with AP. Grand Floridan is listed you decide if purchase of one AP would be worth the savings.

Past discounts range from approximately 30-45% off regular rack rates. Availability seems to be very limited, you may need to be flexible about dates and/or resorts to take advantage of these rates. Note that these dates include Value, Regular and Holiday seasons, so rates for the same hotel will vary widely. Some reported rates:

All Stars - $49 standard (Value and Holiday season), $69 standard (Regular season)
Moderates - $79 standard (Value season), $89 king (Value season), $99 standard (Regular season), $109 king (Regular season), $140 Coronado junior suite (Regular season)
Animal Kingdom Lodge - $109 standard (Value and Holiday season), $129 standard (Regular season), $149 pool view (Value season), $165 pool view (Regular season), $154 savannah view (Value and Holiday season), $179 savannah view (Regular season), $209 deluxe savannah view (Value season), $249 concierge (Value season)
Wilderness Lodge - $109 standard (Value season), $125 woods view (Value and Holiday season), $140 courtyard view (Value and Holiday season), $165 courtyard view (Regular season), $219 concierge (Value season), $259 honeymoon room (Regular season)
Ft. Wilderness Cabin - $134 (Value season)
Contemporary - $229 tower (Value season), $249 tower (Regular season)
Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club - $174 standard (Value season), $209 water view (Value season), $294 concierge (Regular season)
Polynesian - $170 garden view (Value season), $204 garden view (Regular season), $235 garden view concierge (Value season), $285 lagoon view concierge (Value season)
Grand Floridian - $199 garden view (Value season), $239 lagoon view (Value season)

Rack rate for Grand Floridian is $339 garden view (Value season), $400 lagoon view (Value season) so garden view is a savings of $140 a night x 5 nights=that would been $700 dollor savings...lagoon view would be a savings of $161.a night x5 nights=$805 savings....An AP pass would cost for one adult ($369.00=tax 23.00=$392.99) But you would then subtract the other admission cost from that. 5 day Park Hopper ($217.00=14.11 tax=231.11) The differance would be $161.79 which you would be saving on the first night by having the AP rate for the room.

Hope this will give you idea of which would be best for you and your stay.

Just found this information on MouseSavers

American Automobile Association (AAA) and Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) Discounts
AAA and CAA packages are not usually discounted. However, there are AAA/CAA "room only" discounts. You can generally save about 10-20% at the Disney resort hotels, depending on the season.

In general, the discounts run as follows:

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.
During Peak Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Home-Away-From-Home resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.
The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas).

i'm sorry...i missed something?? where do i try this code at?

FYI... Code AMC was a postcard code and has a pin number that is assigned to the postcard recipient that is non-transferrable. In addition this code is only for travel 10/2-12/26/03 and does not extend into 2004.

Candice30 Call CRO. I did not know this was a post card code. I got if off these boards and when I called CRO they did not ask for a PIN nor did they say anything about it being a post card or that I would need a pin code at ck-in. To be safe, I would ask if you need a Pin code at ck-in, if not, I'd go for it!
