I saw in another thread that someone mentioned they were able to buy $5 magic bands through MDE app. I have everything linked but don't see an option to buy discounted magic bands? Is this something that is still offered and if so what do I need to do or where do I need to look?

It can be done through the app, but it actually re-directs you to Disney's website to actually order the magic bands.

In the app, go to My Resort>Choose Magic Band, which will then re-direct you to Disney's website.

There, you'll be able to choose your magic bands for your trip. The $5 magic bands are the solid color ones they used to provide for free...although there are some new colors. The printed ones start at $10, and go up from there.

This is all assuming you are staying onsite.

Also- are you staying on Disney property?

Thank you...I may not be able to get the cheaper ones because I'm staying at Shades of Green

Since they aren't doing fastpass right now and you'd only use your MB for getting into a park you may want to save the money. You can still do magic mobile with your SOG reservation and add a mobile pass for each guest if you have an iPhone. Under the triple line on the bottom right of Disney app, then select Disney MagicMobile.
Thank you! that's what I will do and then use the money saved towards a souvenir for the kids :)

We have Magic Bands that I ordered in February 2020 for a trip that was cancelled. From what I have read those bands may not work for ride photos for our April 2022 trip. There is no option in MDE for me to order new bands; any suggestions on how to get new ones?

They should still work fine. We use old ones all the time. You can get new ones on the shop disney site. Or if you rebook your vacation on Disney property you will have the option to go through there. The older bands just might not reach a few of the new ride readers they have for the magic bands like on SDMT they take a video of you on the ride, as well Haunted Mansion added a phot on the ride

Yes there is a option to purchase the $5 sold color bands with a linked reservation or purchase other bands as @DisBuckMan posted above.

Are you trying via the app or via the website? If you go to "Bands and Cards" on the website, something should pop up.
