I went to the website to sign up for it since I will be attending the D23 convention next August, I thought it would be nice to have. I got a message that I am not eligible because I had already signed up for the free D23 membership! The free D23 membership that DVC strung us along for months about, which turned out to be the free membership that anyone could get!

I wrote to guest services at D23 and they confirmed only new members are eligible for the discount.

I just sent an e-mail to DVC. Pretty lame to deny those who signed up for the free membership a discounted upgraded membership.

I had seen the offer but wasn't coming up with a good reason to sign up. That is very lame indeed that they restricted you because of that virtually worthless "membership" they gave us earlier.

Seriously? This is horrible news. I have the free membership as well, but I was planning to use this discount to purchase the D23 membership. Shoot!

I got a call from member satisfaction today regarding my e-mail. The cm was sympathetic but said there's nothing they can do, that is the way D23 setup the offer, new members only. I mentioned how we were strung along last year for a long time about the free D23 membership and she said they did get a lot of feedback about that. I said that the free membership was the same as anyone could get and it's pretty much worthless. She suggested maybe trying to setup a new account under a different e-mail, I may try that.

I had a gold membership the year before last that I did not renew. I did not take the free membership. I just bought the discounted silver membership. I wouldn't consider myself a new member, a previous member yes, new no, but I got the discount anyway. Go figure??

I looked at purchasing this...put it in my basket, started the checkout procedure...and then it shows international shipping (I live in Canada) is $24.50, which is more than the actual discounted membership
