Discounted Annual Passes - Information and Official Exchange Thread

It is for people paying regular full price for an AP. I don't think you can get the 10% discount on top of the DVC discount.

Don't mean to swoop in like a know-it-all, but Cheshire Figment, a CM for Disney, indicates you do receive the 10% discount on top of your DVC discount.

It's because our DVC 'discount' isn't considered a discount by DVC, but a perk.

Incorrect according to the long thread on this topic on the theme parks board.

The DVC price is set lower but it isn't considered a discount, just a different full price.

We still haven't received ours. I hope they come before our trip!

For those of you in your family.......how many did you receive? We have 5 AP's in our family. :scared:
4 for each of the AP's so you'll end up with 20 of them which would be good for 120 new AP's! As you can see though, the market has been gluted with the discount cards so people are having a hard time giving them away at this point.

While I'm not familiar with this offer it's in no way related to resorts and as such I'll be moving this to the ThemeParks Board.

I posted it on the codes & rates board not resorts. I thought people who were interested in vacation packages would be interested in this BIG discount. Also I saw plenty on AP discussion on that board

Ooooh, what a good discount-we just got our coupons yesterday, but our AP's don't expire until December, and the coupons expire at the end of July. Bummer!

Seems like we have way more people WITH cards at this point than people who want them by how fast this thread is flying.

Yup! Timing is everything! For once I was one of the ones who got their cards early and there was still a demand for them. Now it literally looks like you can't give them away.

Yes, so it seems. We just received ours yesterday and didn't know of the offer when my son purchased a new AP on May 2. The CM didn't mention it even though she knew we had APs already! Yesterday I finally got it straightend out for him (and I) to receive the discount. No one on the phone lines at WDW tickets could help, they said the only way to get the discount retro was to go to Guest Relations at a park. Well, we live in NJ and won't be back by July 31. I am so thankful that Cheshire Figment posted an update in the first post directing us who to email. We did receive a phone call from WDW telling us how to send in the info to receive the refund.

I also have 4 I would be happy to pass along. We are DVC passholders and receive a discount and this 10% off isn't to our advantage. But someone else might benefit!

Here are some of the restrictions though, just fyi:

- Savings are only available May 1st 2009 to July 31, 2009 and must redeemed at WDW Theme Park Main Entrance Ticket windows only.

- NOT valid on AP renewals, only purchase of a new pass.

- May purchase 6 passes with ONE discount card.

- Savings is applied to the non-discounted price of a Disney Annual Pass or Premium Pass purchase.

Hope this info helps anyone with questions! :thumbsup2

I just want to make sure that we get them before we go in 2 weeks. Friends of ours want to upgrade to an AP and they would like to use our cards to do it.

I also have 4 I am willing to mail to any DISer who might need it. We are DVCers and the 10% off is not to our advantage to use when purchasing a new AP.

Just fyi for those of you with questions, here are the restrictions:

Must redeem between May 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009 at WDW THEME PARK MAIN ENTRANCE TICKET WINDOWS ONLY.

Discount only applies to the purchase of a NEW pass - NOT a renewal.

You may use one savings card to purchase up to 6 NEW AP's.

The 10% off savings is applied to the non-discounted price of a Disney Annual or Premium Annual Pass.

Hope this info helps someone with questions!

You probably should read back through the thread -- the DVC price is not a discounted price per se but a DVC price so if you are buying new APs (not renewals) anyway you would get the 10% off the DVC price.

Just so you know, us DVC members can get the 10% off IN ADDITION to the DVC discount. The DVC discount isn't called a discount, but a perk.
