O.k. Here goes...I'm planning on making a trip to WDW with family in April '09. I want to splurge and stay at the GF because I recently had breast cancer and want this vacation to be special. How can I get the deepest discount? I am a AAA member and know I can get the 10% through them. Anything better? I've been to Disney several times and stayed on Disney property (see my signature) but have yet to receive a special code. I also have Disney Visa and my husband is a small business owner, anyone know of any business owner discounts. Help me Disney experts, please.

Thank you.

I am not an expert but this is what I would do. I would go ahead and book my trip using your AAA. You can do this yourself through disney reservations. You need to decide if you want a package (to have disney dining) or room only. I like to book myself because I like to control my reservation, not a TA. You then just need to watch the board to see if any discounts come out for your dates. It is a little early to see anything other than AAA now but you may see some later that can be applied to your reservation. Hope this helps, and have a great time.:goodvibes

Thanks. I really want a room only reservation. I don't like to lock into dining plans. Just really looking for a deeper discount than AAA. Not sure it even exists. Any help out there would be appreciated.

As long as your stay is not near Easter Sunday (the week before and week after), there is a chance you may get a discount. Of course the closer you are to Easter weekend the worse your chances are. We most likely won't know anything about discounts for April until February 2009.

If you are thinking of going during the week that most schools in MA have off, you may be able to find something starting on the 19th, since that is when the rate changes to the regular season. Anything before that, I would think that you would need to be very lucky to find anything other than the AAA discount. I would make the reservation now, it is a busy time, rooms will be filling up, and rooms with the AAA discount available will be disappearing.

Since that can be a busy time of year I would place the days oyu want on hold with any discount you can get. Then keep checking for better ones.
Do you have an AP?

i don't have AP. We only go to Disney every couple of years. I thought it was for people who go like 2 X per year. I'm probably wrong in my thinking.

Yes, most will go at least for 2 trips during the year, but some do purchase 1 AP just to receive a room discount. Sometimes, especially on the Deluxe resorts, the savings can be greater than the additional cost of the AP.

How much would one AP cost? Might as well do the math, right?

I think it's around 499 pp now. There are other discounts as well with the AP on a dining card that gives you 20% off on many restaurants as well as 10% off some restaurants for lunch. There are also discounts on special events and 10% off at some locations in DTD.

Including tax, AP: adults (10+) is $499.49 and child (ages 3-9) is $440.91
Including tax, PAP: adults (10+) is $637.94 and child (ages 3-9) is $562.32

The DDE/Tables of Wonderland card is $60 for a 20% discount at most TS restaurants. It really adds up quickly.
