I checked with AAA website and found that the discount amount posted doesn't match up with the cost of the tickets on universals website. The park prices on aaa's site(before discounts) are more than the price posted on universals website. Did universal reduce their ticket prices? Would I get the same aaa discount if i bought the tickets at the gate or are they better if purchasing at home?

Could it be that one place is listing the prices with tax, and one is listing it without?
People are reporting that if you go to a AAA South office down here (Orlando), that you could purchase the 2 park annual pass for $99...I don't know which pass you were looking to buy, but that's about what a 2 day pass goes for! If you're buying a one day pass, I always found the price AT AAA (advance purchase) offices to be a better deal than at the Studios, which DO give a AAA discount at the window.
Don't know if that helped at all...I think sometimes Discover has deals too, but I'm not really up on that stuff since I have an annual pass...

thank you. I should be more clear.
I am looking for a one day pass.

Ok then, so that's a one day, ONE park pass that you're looking to get?

Last I heard, AAA (the branch I went to in MA) had 2 day passes only, so just give your local office a call...show and save at the ticket window at USF might be your only real option...I'm not sure tho...
Just curious, how many passes do you need to buy?

Karen

i need to purchase 12 tickets.
i always purchase my tickets in advance (CT) at AAA but this year
I was confused by the price posted on universal's website.
They were lower than the price that AAA posted as the original price for universal. It was not reduced byt he $ amount they stated.

I believe Universal's one day price is $48, or $50.88 including the 6% tax.

The AAA website I went to listed the price as $48 before tax and they are selling the one day passes for $43.75 I think...Universal listed the price as $48 also, so maybe the AAA site you were at had an error? I was viewing AAA South's site.
Anyway, it looks like the AAA deal AT a AAA office would be your best bet. Annual passholders get 10% off, which is why I was curious about how many you needed, but I thought they got a bigger percentage..might have been worth it to pick up the $99 annual pass to get the discount on the others...guess not. :D

thanks for your help Karen. I think i figured out the problem. One is with tax and one without. You are correct that aaa is the way to go. wish i talked to you sooner about the ap because i was there in the spring and would have bought the annual.
going to buy the tickets today!!!leaving in a week
thanks again

Well, the annual then was $164, but now AAA South is selling the 2 park annual for $99, which is about the cost of a 2 day pass. According to people who have posted here, any AAA member can supposedly go into a AAA South office and purchase this pass!

So, if there is some chance you might be back for another time within a year, it still might be something to think about...but again, I am just reporting what others are saying, (as far as other AAA members being able to get this pass down here)

Anyway,
Have a fun trip!
