Discount off rack rates?

I knew the answer to this once. It wont let me log on to the member's site. (I registered last year when my PIN came and it never let me on again). Anyway, I'm using points for a GV in June 2006 and was wondering if it would be better to pay cash for Friday and Saturday night. I think I remember that we get a discount of cash or am I wrong? Also, any other suggestions for a gang of 10 people and where to stay on Fri and Sat. ?

I looked on the member website and the cash discount isnt listed.

It's 25% if available. They only rent rooms for member cash discount if they anticipate it will not be booked for points. I don't believe HH has many GV's, it may be difficult. You can't take a room you already have reserved for points and turn it over to cash. That would not be fair to those on the waitlist.

We were able to add a cash night in a GV at HH to our points reservation for this summer. The rate with the 25% DVC member discount is $535 per night.

This was available at 7 months ahead when MS was able to determine that the villa wouldn't likely be needed for a cash reservation.

The first responsibility for MS is to reserve all villas using points. The member cash discount is available only when the villa won't be needed for point reservations. This availability is determined by current reservation needs and past experience for the same dates.
