Is there a site that lists what the discounts on room rates or discount package prices were at any time in the past? I know that mousesavers.com has a historical infomation for when discounts came out, but nothing telling what the discounts were.

I'm looking more for the discount room only rates for moderate and deluxe resorts in the past. I'm pretty sure that I remember seeing the Value Resorts going for around $59 at one time. I've got lots of time to plan, but am starting to try figure out if the Deluxe resorts are even a possibility for us for 2007. It would at least give me an idea if a package might be a slightly better deal.

So much to think about! It is so much fun!!

I think the OP is looking for specific dollar amount not just the date release.
How much were the rooms discount (i.e., value $30.00 off regular price, moderate $70.00 of regular price, deluxes $110.oo off regular price --- for example.

Anyone know of a site that show the $ amount of the discount and not just the date when the discount became available.

I quite deliberately don't list the amount of the discounts on my historical chart because you absolutely CANNOT count on similar discounts in the future.

In fact, last year there was only one 30-day period in the fall when general public "room only" discounts were offered, and almost half of that period was blacked out! Most of the discounts offered in the past year+ have been package discounts.

If you want "room only," your best bet is to assume the AAA "room-only" discount or Annual Pass discount is the best you'll do. (I list the specific percentage you'll save in each season by using AAA on my Disney Resorts page. I list the current AP Best Rate discounts on my site as well.) Don't count on any other room-only discounts -- you'll only be disappointed.

Remember, most of my chart covers the post-9/11 time period, when Disney had to offer a lot of discounts to get people to WDW. That's no longer an issue, with park attendance up more than 5% last year.

Thanks everyone.

I should have known there was a good reason that it wasn't on your site, Mary. MouseSavers.com has been a godsend when planning our trips. I think that I'm going to end up contacting Sue from Small World Vacations that you recommend, but I hate to give up the fun of planning just yet.

I'm pretty sure that a package (hopefully with a discount) is going to be our best bet, but DH is pretty sure that we are made of money and can't figure out why we can't just book a couple of rooms in a Deluxe resort TODAY! :rotfl: I was kind of hoping that I could tell him that if I waited, we might have a chance to save X-amount of money. I'll just keep telling him that 13 months gives me enough time to check out all the possibilities before I turn it over to a professional.

Some people don't understand that planning the trip is half the fun (and can last a lot longer!!)

This is my ritual for the past 3 years....

1. Book a room only reservation and ask for the AAA discount. They only require 1 night's deposit and you can cancel anytime until 5 days before your arrival and receive a full refund.

2. Wait for discounts to come out.

3. If other discounts (packages or room-only) are better than AAA, then call and change my reservation to the new discounted rate.

4. If no other discounts come out that are better than AAA, then join AAA before going to WDW.

In 2004....I booked about 8 months out and asked for the AAA rate ($84.15 per night). Mousesavers then published the Disney Visa code rate of $69 per night for a value resort. I called and changed over to that rate. Then, they came out with a Disney Visa pay for 4 get 7 days package. I was then able to cancel my room only reservation and book the package.

In 2005....I booked about 6 months out and asked for the AAA rate ($84.15 per night) at Pop Century. I received a pin code e-mail offering $59 per night values and $79 per night moderates. I changed my reservation to Port Orleans Riverside and actually paid less for a moderate than I had originally planned to pay for a value.

Yesterday....I booked at Pop Century using AAA code ($84.15 per night). If an AP BRP or code comes in at $59 for June 2006, I will purchase an AP and get that discount. If a Disney Visa or General Public code (doubtful) comes out that is less than $84.15, then I will call and switch to that discount. If an excellent package deals comes out, I can cancel and switch to a package. If nothing better comes out, then I will join AAA at the end of April and enjoy my 15% discount and my Mousesavers Newsletter discounted Ticketmania tickets.

Mary - I can't find the current AP Best Rate discounts on MouseSavers.com.

Can you point me to them?

And by the way, I love MouseSavers as much as everybody else!
