Discount & availability question

So, we have a wilderness lodge CL stay nov/dec booked since before the beginning of the year. Basically pieced together a stay when I found availability, adding in a night here and there. I’ve been stalking discounts and saw the one come out yesterday. There is still zero availability at WL . When I called they said in order to apply the discount there has to be availability. Is this true? I was really hoping to get a discount and not pay rack rate! Help!

Yes, in order to apply a discount. There are only a certain number of rooms with each category and within a resort that are offered under each discount.

However, yesterday I looked to apply discounts to 2 reservations and nothing was available. I looked again this morning and they were available so keep checking!

Thanks... so when nothing was available, were you looking under general reservations? Or were you actually in the modify section of the reservation in MDE? I’m hoping to catch the AP discount when it is released but I’m afraid I’ll miss it again!!

Yesterday I went to modify my reservations and apply any applicable discount but no discounts were available. This morning I did the same process and modified both, but I also searched and booked a new reservation with the discount.

Yep, this is true. PP is right, you have to just keep checking.

WL isn't getting much in the way of discount because having halved the number of rooms available... well, they just don't need to.

It's also a hazard of booking a room hoping for a discount later. They see bookable inventory, and don't see a need for a discount because of all the bookings already in place.
