Discount Availability @ day? Is what the CM told me correct?

I currently have a 2 night stay (1 br, standard view) booked at BLT in January. Despite getting up at the crack of dawn the day the GP codes were released, I was told all of the discounted rooms were taken when I finally got through around 10. I hate paying rack rate, so I've been checking on-line and, lo and behold, there is a room coming up with the discount (same room type) 3 days before I check in (same week). I called to ask that the discount be applied and the CM told me it didn't work, that no discounted rooms are available for my stay. She tried two different codes, and tried to break up my reservation in case only the 1 discounted night was available. Nothing worked. The CM said there are only so many discounted rooms available on a given DAY. Is this correct? I thought I would be in luck since it was the same week.

I've always seen Disney discounted by day not by week. I also think the discount has to be available for every day of your reservation in order to be applied unless you are willing to break up your reservation.

What you can try doing is pricing it for longer including the day you saw discounted and see if that discounts the whole trip. If so book it then call and cancel the days you don't need. Not sure if there's a minimum night stay for the room discount? I don't think there is.

I'm actually kind of surprised that the 1br BLT is even discounted since Disney has no problem filling those at rack rate. Usually only offer discounts to fill empty rooms.

I don't think I explained clearly. I don't want the discount for the week, only for the day. I was trying to say that the CM told me there are only so many codes available each day. So theoretically, there could be 10 RO discounts codes available for Tuesday, 5 for Wednesday, none for Thursday, etc. I'm wondering if this is correct?

I saw online that there is a discounted room available on Tuesday. I have a non-discounted room reserved for Friday. I was hoping to be able to apply the RO discount to my Friday reservation since obviously I could see that there is a discount available. (I was told a few months ago that no 1 br's would be included in the RO discount the last week of January). The CM told me it wouldn't work because there are no RO discounts available on Friday. She did try and break up the reservation but it still wouldn't work.

She also told me Disney discounts random days with random amounts of availability each day on purpose to keep people guessing because if they didn't, people would only book on the discounted days.

I think your question was understood. But you can't get a discount that is being offered on Tuesday applied to your Friday reservation. Room discounts are done by day. If there aren't any on Friday, or if they are already all sold out for Friday, you cannot get the discount.

So unless neither the PP or I are understanding your point, you can't get a discount just because you see one offered some other time during the week when you are not going to be there.

I've spent hours on the board reading about disney trip planning and, most recently the discounts, but this is the first I've heard that rooms are discounted by day. Thanks for clarifying!

Did you see about a possible AAA room only discount? We are going to BLT end of April and got a 20% discount off of rack for a 2 bedroom villa (1 bedroom and studios were also available for our dates at AAA rate) with AAA. I booked directly through Disney since it was roomonly. I called first to confirm discounted room availability, then got a discounted AAA membership for $53 and saved $1550. Don't know if there will still be AAA rooms for january at this date, but here's hoping for you! Hope this hepls you!

Thanks for this info. I did try a few weeks ago and there weren't any AAA rooms available. Maybe its like Disney discounts, though, and more can become available if people cancel?

I'm realistic enough to know I have a slim chance of a discount, but it's my dream to stay at BLT and I hate paying rack rate. Any opinions if there would be availability through DVC? Just for a day or two to add on to our other reservation?
