I thought that I read somewhere that there are not discount annual passes. Can someone confirm? I don't want to order from WDW directly if there is a cheaper source.

Thanks, T&B

There are no discounts on an annual pass unless you are renewing your AP.

Judi, thanks, that's what I thought, but didn't want to rush to buy it and then kick myself.

Only discounts I am aware of are renewal, Florida resident, and charter member.

BTW, if you have time before you need to purchase, and have a Disney Visa, sometimes they offer double/triple reward points. Usually only equates to a few $, but every little bit helps.

T&B: You might want to buy your voucher at the Disney Store because I have looked into getting AP's for my trip in 2 wks and heard somewhere that it could take 2 to 3 wks to get the vouchers/tickets via mail. That is cutting it too close for me and it looks as if it might be cutting it close for you too. So I am heading to the Disney Store so I have the voucher in hand way before I go. I wouldn't be able to take the stress waiting for them to come in the mail.

If you go thru the WDW website you can select the delivery option - Will Call Pickup. You can pick up your tickets at any Walt Disney World Theme Park ticket sales location. Then you don't have to worry about losing your ticket/voucher during travel.

Yikes, I guess I'd better get my act together! I'll call the Disney Store. At least I think we still have one nearby.

Thanks,

A friend of mine did this last year and had some problems. I forgot exactly what the problem was, but I know that it took a while for her to clear it up when she was down there. I'm sure that problems are rare and I will consider this if I don't make it to the Disney store.

Do taxes need to be paid no matter where the APs are bought at (through the Disney website vs the Disney Store)?

Thanks, T&B

Yes, you will pay the 6.5% Florida Sales and Use tax regardless of where you purchase the pass.

You can get discounted annual passes if you are in the Military, retired military or if you work for the DOD. I purchased annual passes for $362 (no sales tax) at the Shades of Green offices located at the Contemporary last week.

Nope, not military, but I bet that helps someone else.

I'll try and stop by our Disney Store today and get the pass vouchers. It is vouchers at the Disney Store, right? As opposed to the actual tickets.

Interesting that we pay FL tax rate instead of the local tax. I suppose that does make sense, though.

Yes, they are vouchers, but, not all stores have them. some have to order them. You might as well order them online and opt for "will call" when you get to the parks. I ordered mine this way and they email you a receipt, I chose to print my confirmation with it's handy dandy purchase code from the order screen.

As you will have to redeem the voucher for the annual pass anyway, why not wait until you are at the gate/ttc to purchase? What is the advantage to buying ahead of time?

I would rather have my pass in hand when I pull up at the WDW gates then have to wait on the ticket purchase line to buy it when I am there. We'll be waiting on lines most of the trip, so the chance to save some time is worthwhile to me! Also, it doesn't cost any extra to purchase upfront, nor do you lose any days on the pass. During crowded times at WDW, this could be a lot if time saved! Plus, if you are making ressies for the resorts using the AP discount, it is always good to have at least the voucher in hand when checking in. We have never been asked for it, but you never know.......

The one I can think of is a price increase. There has been nothing mentioned about one, but, I purchased early just in case.

Frann, you will have to stand in line to activate that voucher.
