So DF and I are trying to finally plan our wedding and I need help convincing him to do a Disney Escape wedding! :goodvibes
We are both huge Disney Fanatics but he sees prices and not how great it would be :sad2: How can I convince him??

Also, I am thinking of doing the Escape package at either WP or SBP with just our immediate family. I don't think we would have a DP just because that would be pushing the budget a little too much...
So what could we do instead? Has anyone ever had just a ceremony and then just went to the parks with family or something like that?

Thank you all for your help!!!:)

Show him pictures! There are tons of pics on this forum from lots and lots of Disney brides. You know the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words".

My reasoning with our Disney wedding and spending the money is, the money was going to be spent either way, so why not make it what we REALLY, REALLY want! Weddings are expensive no matter which way you look at it, the only way to get around that is to go to the justice of the peace. HTH!

Have you looked into weddings at the Swan? They are fully customizable and you can bring outside vendors, as well as not having a max guest count. You can even have Mickey at your wedding there! It's definately alot less money, and you can still have the magic :)
After our wedding we are having our dinner at California Grill, for dinner and fireworks. Good luck :goodvibes

What Kristi said!!!!
I am doing a VR at the Swan in May and I estimate that I will have spent around half od what I would have had I gone through DFTW. I have my celebration right there at WDW, photos at Swan, Boardwalk, BLT and GF and my reception dinner at Citricos (wandering down to Narcosse's landing to see fireworks after dinner). I feel no magic is missing at all!!! I have been able to chose a lot of my own vendors, thus giving me more flexability on styles and price!!
Check out Carries podcast on S/D weddings (link below). You may find it helpful!! It is the second report down

Happy planning!!

Show him how expensive other places are.

Agreed! If you are doing an escape wedding compared to a big wedding at home, I can't imagine the Escape wedding would be much more than a wedding with say 75-100 guests back home. Tell him it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and most of all, it is what you really want!

what is your wedding budget anyway? A Disney Escape wedding can be the same or even cheaper than an at home wedding...it just depends on what you spend your money on! And having a really small intimate ceremony will definitely cut down on costs - primarily with food for your reception. Going into our wedding, we had a very strict and small budget but the Disney wedding let us do some amazing things that would have cost WAY more with an at-home ceremony.

Just tell him a Disney wedding is a completely unique and an amazing experience...and show him lots of pictures :goodvibes

Thank you Ladies for all your help!! :goodvibes
DF and I decided that we would rather spend our special day with our families so we are doing an at home wedding, but we are doing a Disney-Moon!! :cool1:

We finally got the wedding ball rolling! We are getting married September 23rd, 2011!! We are so excited!

Congrats! That sounds like a nice compromise. Happy planning!
