I don't think I've seen this thread yet. Maybe we can start a thread with any money saving tips, coupon codes relevant to wedding/disneymoon planning to help all of us disney bride & grooms pinch a few extra pennies.

For example, I learned last night that Overstock.com sells quality men's wedding rings for VERY reasonable prices. Definitely worth checking out if/when you know your groom's ring size.

I was looking at them last night, too (must've received the same email...). They have a men's platinum for for $279.

Also looked at Costco. I know that diamonds can be special ordered there, so bands might be a option for special order, too.

If anyone is a member, Gilt Groupe's wedding sale is this Thursday starting at noon (ET)...they are going to have jewelry and bridal gowns (Kleinfeld sample sale). Ideeli is having their wedding sale beginning tomorrow

I bought my husband's ring off of amazon. He wanted a Tungsten ring and it was only $50. We had him sized, and then I ordered it. Best of all, I used swagbucks gift cards to pay for it, so I didn't pay anything!!! If you don't know what Swagbucks is... PM me, it is awesome!

I've told people on a thread about this, but my big money saver was my dress. I custom ordered it off ebay. I spent $168 on it when it was in the store for $1350. You can see my pictures on Randy's website here:

The only difference between my dress and the one in the store was there was less beading, and there was no crinoline underneath the dress. I just bought an extra large crinoline and it worked out great!

Other tips - use coupon codes and Joanns/Michaels coupons!!!

Agreed about Overstock! I also got DF's ring on there, a Tungsten one for $55, and it's beautiful.

Another piece of advice - check out the craft stores like Michael's and AC Moore. If you're doing DIY this is a must, but even if you're not they have good wedding sections. And go to the websites beforehand, they always have coupons available for 40% or 50% off one item. Just print and go!

Oh, and I recommend looking into Kohl's for jewelry as well. I got my wedding ring there. Kohl's has tons of discounts, and often their jewelry is 50% or 60% off, and if you have a Kohl's card you sometimes get a discount. And when I was there we stopped by the jewelry counter around 1:30 and they said come back after 2 o'clock, because jewelry prices go down another 10% after 2. All told, a white gold ring with small diamond chips that originally cost $375 ended up costing me $120! Highly recommended!

Groupon is worth a look as they run daily discounts on all kinds of beauty treatments/ hotel deals etc.

http://www.dailydibs.com/Atlanta

This is a great site for some cities, they don't have all cities up yet, but it shows all the Groupons and Living Social deals for that city each day and a couple other places too. Atlanta shows Tippr, Kudzu and a couple others as well.

This thread is RIGHT up my alley!

Thanks for the heads up on Overstock ladies, I just told DF he has to check it out, tonight! LOL

I have started heavily planning as we are about 6 1/2 months out...This Sat. I am meeting with a florist who does silk flowers, by doing this I will save hundreds of dollars and the bridesmaids will get to keep their items...I am getting a bridal bouquet (for my MK shoot), a bridesmaid bouquet, two boutineers (sp?), two corsages and six rose balls to hang on the chairs on the beach for about 350....that was great considering Disney wanted 300 alone for a second bouquet for me!

I have also been using Vistaprint ALOT...I get as much as I can for free and have paid a bit...

Oriental Trading has some awesome stuff too, check them out on the web, you can also request a catalog...

I follow Couponing to Disney on Facebook...I have learned so much and shop at target for pennies, literally! I once spent 100 and only owed 13 cents!!!!! I have been picking up for free aspirin, tums, tide pens and shout wipes that will all be put in the welcome bags I am making for my guests that will be attending our cruise wedding!

I look forward to see what others have done thus far!!!!

I saved money by buying my jewelery in the mall @ Claires, it was $36 for a necklace and beautiful bracelet. I'm doing loads of DIY from Michael's too. I'm making a rose submerged in water with river rocks in a cyllinder vase with a floating candle on top and it will only cost about $6 for each one. The cyllinders were on sale @ Michael's for $1.99, the roses are from Publix supermarket and are $20/dozen and the river rocks were pretty inexpensive too (I forget the exact cost because I bought them so long ago). I'm using fishing weights to weigh the roses down and the river rocks cover them up.

We scored a DIY pocket invitation kit on sale @ Michaels and got 60 invites with response cards, envelopes, direction/menu card and ribbon for $52. It is all white but we're going to add a bit of color to dress it up. Here they are: http://www.michaels.com/BRIDES®-Whi...ml?start=22&cgid=products-wedding-invitations

I bought a fairly simple wedding dress @ David's to cut costs but I'm dressing it up with a beautiful sash from etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/67693569/sold-can-be-made-to-order-jaclyn-hand The sash is quite pricey but even with the sash my dress will be $600ish

We opted for a Swan/Dolphin wedding to keep costs down too.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find one on ebay?

I searched wedding dresses, and it just happened that the one that I tried on from Alfred Angelo popped up (well the catalog picture). There are a couple sellers on there that make a lot of dresses - I bought mine from best-love-u, so you could always look through her store. It honestly was lucky - but there are a variety of dresses on there and I'm sure that you would be able to find the style that you like.

I would suggest having an idea of what style you want and what looks best on you. They make everything to your size - you send them your measurements. I had my dress in 8 days. It was kind of nuts - but everything was perfect and was fit to me (which is a huge thing because I'm 4'11 and would have to do major alterations and pay lots of extra $$$ to make the dress short enough for me).

Jillian, I am in love with the sashes. This thread is meant to be about saving money but now I can see I'll be spending more!!!!

I know! I eyed this sash for a good 3 mos before I went ahead and ordered it. Their work is just so beautiful. I rationalized it by saying that my dress was inexpensive so it was ok. :rolleyes1

I use two websites to gain a little extra cash! I found out about one from the disboards.

The first is SendEarnings. It's very mindless. You just click emails and recieve .03 for each. I use a "junk" email so i don't clog up my inbox. They also have surveys and paid shopping. I currently have about $50 dollars. They will send me a check...

The second allows you to get disney gift cards by paid shopping and surveys. It's called Sun Shine Rewards. I don't think the disboards want me to tell anyone! I only have $20 dollars right now... It's pretty easy too. :)
I feel money is money!

Does anyone else use any survey sites? :confused3

If you need/want the links PM me! (=

I just signed up for these! Very easy!:woohoo:
You might want to put your referral code on here, because people can say that you recommended them and you get some extra $$ :thumbsup2 I didn't notice until after I had already signed up or else I would have totally contacted you for it!!!

If anyone has some free time, I would definitely suggest it. I have been doing surveys for the past hour :rotfl: and have already racked up some $$. I have to warn you that some of the survery ARE LONG! If you have the patience, go for it!
