I've been wondering the same thing. Tereas better watch out or she'll be ousted from the top poster spot! :scared1:

I see she has come out of hiding now but when I looked earlier, she had already been ousted! I believe it's Lori (eeyore3847) that better be scared!

I finally finished my other DDs valentine dress.

Here is my sweet little one with my beautiful Mother. I loved that the three of us were able to take this trip together. It was such a special trip & one I will cherish forever.[/I]

ahhh I Miss WDW! We stayed at the poly and your super sweet pictures make me miss it!
Lori

I love the poses! Leslie, When I think of an "Emily" pose, I think of that one where she is glancing over her shoulder. I think she is wearing the Tink with the elastic straps. She is so cute in that picture and looks like a model.

Anywho, this is what I did today! I am so happy to be finished!

Oh, the scalloped edge skirt was so easy! It took a while for me to do, probably because I am slow, but it's wasn't hard at all and the directions were terrific. Next time I might attempt it with tulle, but I do like this look so she can wear it to school and Disney. Thanks Carla!

The scalloped edge is super cute! I love what you did with the pillowcase!

The time has come for the much anticipated Doodlebops concert. We leave tomorrow. My DD has been very excited. I promised her that I would make her a skirt. I had the embroidered panels done a week ago. I've been sick for two weeks, the last 3 days have been very, very bad. We also had a death that we had do deal with so that cut into some sewing time. This isn't my best work by any means. But I'm sure my DD will love it, and I was able to get it done, which is the most important thing at this point.
th_IMG_3342.jpg

The DeeDee panel is the front.

Obviously, I need to come up with a top. I'm gonna check the weather to see if I can alter a short sleeve t-shirt. Whatever I do, it's gonna have to be easy and quick. Any ideas?
I like it as always. I am so sorry you have not been feeling well. :( Where are you guys going to see the Doodlebops?

Okay, got my camera battery charged. Here are my Minnie Head panels, there are 2 different poses and I threw a dinner plate in there to show you the size. If I don't mess up my applique too much I should have a few of these Minnie Heads to give away in a few days.

th_IMG_0886.jpg

Here is what I am doing with one. I found a pattern with a slightly larger bodice than the stripwork jumper. I traced the pattern piece on my heat-n-bond then ironed it on to Minnie then trimmed her out using the pattern piece for some of the borders. I still need to cut out the actual bodice and put it on that. I will probably use the purple fabric in the background (and for the rest of the bodice), but not 100% sure yet. I didn't want the bow to be the only pink thing in there so I used a purple fabric marker to change the bow from pink to purple, but I doubt that it will show much once seams are sewn and the shoulder straps flap over the top. The skirt will be the floral mickey/minnie fabric. Not sure how it will turn out, but DD LOVES Minnie so she won't complain

th_IMG_0880.jpg

BTW for those of you w/this fabric, it also looks really cute with denim.

I love this! I never would have thought of using it that way! Too cute.

I love this and I don't think I have ever seen it! I would love to find some of that. You could match a lot of really cute colors with that.

DD wants a bandana looking skirt ... hard to explain she had one when she was little. It was in red but since I found this fabric I am going to do it in blue instead. I was really excited about finding it thought it was really cute.

Is this flannel? I'm looking for some boy flannel and this is cute.

No it isn't it is cotton but JoAnns had some REALLY cute flannel as well. :)

I think the jean jacket is cute. If you don't feel well, I would just leave it alone. If you feel a little ambitious you could add a ruffle to the jean jacket at the waist and the cuffs. I have done this before and then taken it off after and the jacket is good as new.

I have been fluish for about 10 days now so I know how you feel. I feel like a total loser because my house is a wreck and I honestly haven't cared what my kids have had for dinner for over a week. They have watched too much t.v. and eaten too much junk food! But I was able to take it easy. It happens and it will pass. Just rest tomorrow so you can enjoy the concert!

You know, I wondered about adding a rouched ruffle to the collar, but I didn't want it to be permanent. I didn't even think about just taking it off when it was over. I may do that.

I like it as always. I am so sorry you have not been feeling well. :( Where are you guys going to see the Doodlebops?

The concert is at the Nokia center in Grand Prairie. I really think AbbyGrace is going to love it.

I left the outfit in the family room (where it was when I took the pic), and when she came in from church, she ran over to it, and started dancing around it. She was amazed. She really likes it, so that's all that matters, right? I'm glad I went ahead and finished it.

had to share my newest headband. :D

oh my gosh I love this!

Riley wanted me to make something for Drew to wear to her basketball games. Riley also wanted me to tell you that Drew doesn't tuck the shirt in all dorky like that and that I just did that so the words showed up in the picture!

th_goriley.jpg

th_numbersix.jpg

Drew calls this her cheerleader outfit. I didn't want to do all of the pleats of a cheerleader skirt so I cheated and told her that cheerleaders sometimes wear skirts like this!:rolleyes1

I think these are darling and perfect!!

Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find out a user manual for this sewing machine? It is a National Sewing Maching Co. Model B400. I can't find it online and I checked with one of the large suppliers of manuals. Anyone seen anything like it before?

sewing011.jpg

I have to decide whether I try to use this one or buy a new one that I have a manual for.

I love the Mardi Gras dress. Will she wear it to a party or a parade?
She's going to wear it to our town's main parade on Sunday. It's kind of cold out right now So I'm trying to find her a Green, Yellow or Purple sweatshirt so I can make her a matching jacket. She has a matching hat to it already.

My first thought was that I wanted to find the font for the Doodlebops and applique it. That was a month ago when we bought the tickets. I should have said something earlier, but honestly, this has just kinda snuck up on me. I knew it was coming, and I kept thinking that I would get on this when I felt better, and that just just hasn't happened. We're going regardless. I've had antibiotics in me for 24 hours and I can feel some difference already, so I'm really hoping that by this time tomorrow, I'll be much better.

SO, after I posted the pics, I went and dug around in the closet and come up with this. I know it's not completely boutique, but I just don't have it in me to make a top tonight. Do you think it's gonna work?
IMG_3345.jpg
I think it is cute like it is pictured above.

Did you try contacting the company that made the machine? Sometimes they can help. That's what my grandpa had to do to get the manual to his tiller that he has had since 1979. I found this address and phone number for the company.
NATIONAL SEWING MACHINE
905 E-8TH
NATIONAL CITY, CA 91951
619-474-1853

Hope that helps out some.

I was just looking at the picture of the machine and I realized that I have used that particular machine before. In fact that is the one that I used when I made my DD's baby clothes. It functions just like an old Singer. If you need help PM me maybe I will be able to help you out.

Thanks for the suggestion to add a ruffle to the collar (MyTwoTinks)! I just added it, and it is the PERFECT touch. I don't know why I didn't just think to do it and rip it out when it's over. Of course, I did it after I took a dose of NyQuil, so we'll see how it looks when I wake up in the morning! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Since I'm half falling asleep now, I'm gonna call it a night! Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions. I think it'll be great!

I love this!

That was fast! Those are really cute.

Hey everyone! All the outfits look great! I have the sick that went through my house. Not fun. I thought I was going to get lucky, but NOOOOOO.

Ok, I know you all have been waiting to find out. :lmao: The winner of the mommy and me outfit is.........

100acreprincess!!!!

I'll PM you later. I am going to go lie down for now.

I hope you feel better soon. I can't believe I actually won. I'm excited, that fabric is just gorgeous.

Where did you find that?? It's going to be really cute.

Okay, here are a few pictures from our trip this past September. I made these simple little pants which were really comfy for my little one. They were perfect when we ended up at the GF beach one afternoon. We were just going to check out the hotel but then decided we needed to go down to the water. My dd loved playing in the sand and we stayed until it got dark and the rain hit

Ok I am going abck and reading. My you ladies have been busy today while I was gone! I had to go to Dallas to take DS to Scottish Rite and get his new braces and I passed a Jo Anns! I was so excited! I didn't have much time so I was limited to what I got. And nothing was onsale blah. I am sure everyone has already seen these but they were new to me. :)

sewing035.jpg

Tink and blue hearts that looks like her wings put together. No clue what I am going to be doing with it but I liked it.

sewing037.jpg
DD has said she wants something Jess like so I have been looking for boy material to match for MGM.

And I KNOW everyone has seen this but I was so excited to get it! DD found it online about a year ago and begged for it. I could not find it anywhere but I did today and got 4 yards! I am going to do one of the cirlcle skirts with tulle under it and pirate shirt with a corset to wear for MK next Dec. She will wear leggings under. I know ambitious considering I do not sew really yet ... but I have faith. :)
I haven't seen those top two! My dd4 would love that tink!

Okay, LOVE this! Please share instructions if you don't mind?:flower3:

Ok, here's the Emma... I have no idea where this came from, but she does it all the time!

She is such a DOLL!

Ok, I'm going to be MIA this weekend. We are potty training and we start cold turkey tomorrow morning. I can't leave dd2's side, so I won't be on here much, maybe naptime and after bedtime. I also have a lot of sewing to catch up on! I just dread coming back on Monday to 75 pages to catch up on!!!! So, everyone needs to stay busy this weekend and keep the posting to a minimum :rolleyes1 It was a nice thought!
GOOD LUCK! My daughter potty trained herself, so I am scared to even think about my one year old! I don't think you get that lucky twice!
I spent part of my afternoon going through my digital photos. I cried when I saw how much my kids had grown! I found some classic "poses"

Here is the Jayden version of the Emily :rotfl: :

I have to decide whether I try to use this one or buy a new one that I have a manual for.

I bought a National machine (Older than this one if you can believe that-it was all metal and weighs a TON LOL) years ago (in Michigan). There is a store in Waterford that gets/got them in on trade. They were able to come up with a copy of the manual for mine. Let me see if I can remember the name of the store and maybe they can help you. (I LOVED the machine by the way!)

Universal sewing center
2570 Dixie Hwy
Waterford Mi
248-674-0439

It is a long shot but maybe they can help

Those are great! I don't think we would have had a problem if they had just gotten we and then dried, but they got drenched over and over and over for probably about 4 hours! We'd ride about 6 times and then walk away for a little while and then go back and do it again before they even started to dry off. They couldn't have gotten any more wet if they had jumped right into the river!

oh my!!!! sounds like fun though!!!:rotfl2:
