Okay that is just too cute! I love it!!

Ok I'm willing to make matching for anyone who needs them for the BIG GIVE. A girl's gotta accessorize after all!! Besides I just bought 120 yards of various colored ribbons last night and I need to do something with it all. Please PM a pic of the fabrics that you will be using and I will match away.

Wow that is a LOT of ribbon!!! Thank you so much for offering to make matching bows. I am sure a lot of people will be sending you messages!!! :)

Yeah, Steph makes great stuff! ALSO Steph, looks like your princess: had a wonderful birthday!! I'm glad you guys had a fun trip.

We had a HUGE storm here today and a large tree of ours was hit my lightening, luckily most of it landed just below on the lawn, I dragged some stuff off the street- it looked like someone put a bomb in the tree the way it was everywhere. No power for much of the day, thus no sewing machine, and no laundry. Tomorrow will be a BUSY day.

We drove right through those storms yesterday! We were on I-90, and it was raining so hard that people were pulling off the road. We got of on I-91, and this really scary wall of cloud was running parallel to us all the way to Hartford. I was ready to hunker down in a ditch, I tell ya! We didn't get it too bad in Middletown.

I use sticky back stabilizer (on everything). I don't hoop it, I stick it to the underside of the entire hoop, wrap around and stick to the sides. Then I just lay whatever I'm embroidering on top of the sticky, and embroider. If it's soemthing that needs a little extra support, I float a piece of tear away under the hoop. I don't do that with tee's however. Hope you figure it out. I know how frustrating that is!

That is exactly what I do :) ! I couldn't live without sticky!!!

Hey BOW MAKERS!!!! Where do ya'll get the bobbles and cute stuffs that you use for the centers of your bow???
...t.

Have you guys seen the new feature on YCMT yet? They have free video demonstrations now! The best part is you can see what CarlaC looks like. She has a video demo of the ruffler foot. Here's a link: http://www.youcanmakethis.com/index.htm?cnxtrk=295848#cnxSiteTop
She's very cute!
I haven't checked out all of the videos, but there are supposed to be some on there that show you how to crochet and stuff!
ETA: That link won't take you right to the ruffler demo, so just scroll down the the bottom of the page and you'll see it down there.

Awww - thanks for saying that!

I'm supposed to do one on making buttonholes this week. Too bad I screwed up my hair! :scared1:

Actually, it is looking a little bit less like bean dip than when I first colored it, so hopefully it won't be terribly obvious.

Hi I do a lot of window shopping (I just hate the term lurking) on this board and when I saw a question I can help with I wanted to respond.

Check out the scrapbooking section of your favorite arts and crafts store for

Buttons (great mickey head buttons in the scrapbook area)
Character Bottle Caps

Other items
Recycled Gymboree hair clips. I love my gymbo clips so sometimes I take off the cat, strawberry or whatever is on it and repurpose it.
Jibbitz (those croc things) you slice of the back part that goes in the shoe and hot glue it
Cell phone charms
Shoe charms
The Mcdonalds princess toys (yes some of embellishments make for great hair center pieces in bows)

Disney Foamez Key chains and other craft items (sometimes they had round charms that work well)
Single Polymer beads and buttons from :wizard: but I only do that if its a very special outfit because I love the beads so much

Basically if its not nailed down and in some cases if its nailed down I still might see if it work.

I'll go back to browsing but I LOVE all of your creations, it makes me want to take a class to see if I still have two left hands. Havent sewed since I made a toga for a toga party :rotfl2: Yes I really did

HI All! This is a dress that I made Lexie this morning. I bought Minnie and Mickey fabric from Malaysia and had never used it. So today I dragged it out and cut out the Minnie and Mickey. Lexie told me what she wanted. I wanted to use some yellow, but she said no...:confused3

IrelandandLexieChristmas20072364.jpg

I had really wanted to just use the Minnie and make a pink dot skirt to match Minnie's skirt, but in light of all of the discussions...LOL that we had last weekend, I decided since someone recently used pink dot, I decided not to. Sad huh?

Cute dress. As for the not doing a pink dot dress. I think the people left on this board are cool with you using the same fabric, pattern or design as they did. I believe the ones that issues with that have left.

BEAN DIP? :rotfl2: Surely it's not that bad.

You made that THIS MORNING? What time do you get up? Mickey & Minnie are really, really cute!

I finished the Simply Sweet dress I was working on last night (after I fixed the bobbin problem). I made a matching doll dress this morning, and now I'm printing out the directions and pattern for a peasant top. (Where does that pattern disappear to every time I use it?) I think I'm gonna do easy fit pants today too. We'll see how I feel after I do the top. I'll post pics when I'm finished.

I am officially addicted to checking out al of these wonderful creations you girls have made and of course totally jealous of how talented you are!!!!!

I love the minnie dress and the halter shirt actually i love all the new ones posted.

When I eventually get my darn sewing machine maybe you guys would be kind enough to let me know what patterns you have used for some of these outfits. If so I really hope they are easy....

www.Youcanmakethis.com has the easiest patterns and most of us use those.

I have to tell you guys this before I go to work. Last night Jenna and I were in Wal-Mart getting the fabric for the BIG GIVE. While I was getting fabric cut she was looking at the buttons. Well when the lady is done cutting fabric I go look at the buttons with Jenna because I needed some for something I plan on making her. Well they have this big white button that has pentagon shapes all over the curved front of it and Jenna points it out and says "Look mom!! It's Epcot!" :rotfl2: I was laughing so hard. It did sort of look like Epcot. Ok now I have to go to work.

Please PM the colors for the outfits for the BIG GIVE and please tell me what character or what they are going to be so I can make the matching bows.

It is the Adorable Criss Cross Dress from YCMT. I think it is Star Bright's (?) pattern.
Thank you!!

Bean dip, huh? Now, that could be interesting! :rotfl2:
I think it's great you are doing video tutorials. That is so helpful fo the visual learners out there!

:welcome: I don't like "lurker" either. That sounds sort of evil. I like "window shopper", too! Too funny that you made a toga! :rotfl: Do try to sew again! I gave up when I was 17 after making a truly awful outfit for my baby nephew. But, I started up again about 10 months ago and I LOVE it now!

That is just adorable!! I love it! I've eyed that fabric on :wizard: before. Too cute!

Yay! We've got you now!!! I can't wait to see what you make once you get your sewing machine!

I really like CarlaC's patterns on www.youcanmakethis.com ! Her easy fit pants and portrait peasant top are really easy and great for beginners.

I am actually checking out that site now! I noticed the few outfits I really like are only in small sizes do they ahve bigger sizes like 7 or 8 girls?

If I can figure out how to post I can post a picture of an American Girl doll dress I made. I might have pictures of other dresses for AG dolls I ahve done. I have made about 4 or 5 and nightgowns:) Then of coure my son wanted a cape for his stuffed animals so i made a few capes:lmao:

I talked to my girlfriend who wants to start making stuff for our girls and we decided maybe we need to have a garage sale to finance our new habit! LOL

Here is one more set of pj's I made for Noah this weekend. Thanks for letting me share - I don't get to do much for him but he loves all the items I make him and proudly tells everyone his mom made them. :)

Those are really cool!!!

Barbara update:
Her surgery is at 10:15am today, not 8:00am, so we don't have any news yet. We'll keep you updated!
Prayers for Barbara.

WOW! I love that exactly like it is but think it would have been OK to use pink dot if you wanted to.

Those are great ideas. My youngest DD is a tomboy but will wear a barrett if it isn't too frilly. I bet she'd love some of your ideas!

I am also making bows for the BIG GIVE. I was a little late on getting my outfit, so I think all of the Disney one's I can do are taken :)

I have ordered some polymer clay Mickey and Minnie heads from a seller on :wizard: and some more Minnie dot ribbon from ribbons and bows. Please let me know if anyone wants matching bows for outfits you are making. I would be glad to help.

I am also making a non-Disney outfit for the BIG GIVE. I just wanted to sew something:)

I am so excited about this project. I think it is going to be so wonderful.

I was hoping some people that aren't sewing an outfit could help us out with bows and accessories. I really don't make very nice bows and I don't like doing it too much, either. So, I was really hoping a nice bow-maker out there could make some bows to match!

Can you all tell me how to put a picture or fabric onto a tshirt? I have absolutely no sewing ability at all and I want to have a cute tshirt for my DS1 to wear on our Disney trip on June 8-13. I don't know what to make but I wanted to some how create the mickey mouse head with pirate bandana and eyepatch. Also any ideas to put on a shirt would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Oh, that is just TOO CUTE! If you wanted the bow to stay "just right" - you could sew little snaps on the corners of the bow and where it meets the shirt. I've done that before when I wanted a bow to lay a certain way and it wasn't cooperating! I think it looks great, though!

LOL, too funny! Hope you guys enjoy them!

What a brilliant idea!!! I am going to do that! Thanks!!

I hope yours clears up too! I am so scared of that MRI machine! I don't do well in small enclosed spaces like that! I had to leave "Alien Encounter" (now the Stitch ride) because I couldn't handle the enclosed feeling!

Teresa..do you think your headache could related to something that you ate?For years, my dh gets this terrible headaches that comes with dizziness/nausea. He would be pretty much non-functional....he went to the doctors, they gave him migraine medicine which he didn't like because of how he felt after taking them. We later found out that it was what he ate...food containing MSG gave him those headaches. I think it is a threshold issue..he can have some, but if he eats too much food containing MSG within a few days, he gets those headaches again. It does makes shopping for him, and two kids with food allergies very challenging..I spend a lot of time reading labels!

Anyway, hope you feel better soon!!

I had to make her a Donald dress. He was teh second character she recognized. When we saw him in Epcot she yelled Duckie! It was too cute. The CM cuoldn't believe it.

How cute!!! My ds said "QUACK" "QUACK" everytime he sees Donald, and he would flap his arms like wings.

Thank you so much for asking. No, my kitty (Foster Tarp)hasn't come back. It sounds silly, but I REALLY love my kitty, like most people love their dogs. Today, Lydia and I got really excited, because we thought we heard him scratching at the back door. But, when we went to look, the wind had knocked over our outdoor canopy, and it was hitting the door. I just sat down and cried. :worried:

I hope you find your kitty soon!

Ok, here's the Donald dress on the model & with the sailor hat.

Adorable!!

That is so cute! Donald & Daisy will LOVE it at Tusker House-it is a really fun breakfast!

Thanks...so, Daisy is there, too? During our last trip, we never saw Daisy at all and dd was wondering where she was.

How cute is that??? I love it.

My model is at school, but here is the Minnie colored criss cross top:

That is really cute...I have been looking at the pattern on YMCT...I have just added it to my wish list.

That is very cute! I wish I had the real Minnie dot fabric. I had to use the little tiny dot fabric from Wally World.

How much Minnie Dot fabric are you looking for?

You made all that this morning??? WOW! It is beautiful!

I lost some of my quotes....
Snubie - love all your non-disney outfits, and the 3 yo portrait of Lauren is beautiful!!

Stephres - happy belated birthday to Megan. Looks like she had a great time celebrating!!

Livindisney - glad that your aunt is doing better.

Clutterbug - love that purse..I am afraid to attempt the purse. Your dd's outfit is adorable - I love the orange swirl pants.

Heather and Teresa - I will be keeping your SIL in my thoughts and prayers today. Keep us posted!
