Here is my first attempt at the new pattern ... I'm not loving it, but I will practice more this weekend! I just wish I'd used cheap fabric for my first one. Oh well, dd2 will be pleasantly surprised when she wakes up :)

GisellesSundress.jpg

I think it's adorable! I definitely want to use that pattern for quite a few things this summer.

Yay! Thanks for stopping by. LOVE the photos! I recognize your mom and you in the photo behind Lydia, is that Corey on the left? The girls all look GORGEOUS! I wish I was there with you! I'm needing a Disney trip soon!
That's me and my Mom all right! But, that's Brian, my husband, and not Corey. If you can see the guy in the Goofy hat in the background, that's our brother.

Cute Deann!!! I loved the stepsister dresses too!!! You will have so much fun with the girls in those!!

We are having a great time!!! We've met up with Steph, Megan and Jacob the other day, and had a quick meet and greet with Chantell (Disney 4 Me) and her adorable kids today. Tomorrow we are hoping to catch up with Cindee, Morgan and Jord!!!

Remember the game telephone? I just laugh when I think what the girls must come home telling their moms. I am sure Megan's instructions are not the most accurate and then telling other kindergarteners, lol.

Mom, I have to sleep on a bed of socks so my hair will be curly like Megan's.:rotfl:

:lmao: telephone was an awesome game! Mom! I have to leave my socks on my feet while I sleep. that's what Megan does and her hair is curly! I imagine they come up w/ something better though....

They look awesome together!

just wanted to show off my ticker....one day less than 1 year whoo hoo....our first disney experience

hooray! we have a joke in our house that c=md. *ahem*

that is way to cute! love it!

I  the black and white one and the yellow one! They are all absolutely adorable but those two are my favorites. Nice work! And that painting sure must have been a labor of love! It's awesome! I soooo wouldn't have the patience.

I got a very nice suprise today!!! Mooo-lah!! LOL, so where are we headed...
Walt Disney World...Here we come!!
We're staying overnight for a few nights...What a great surprise in my bank account...LOL. Now I wish my tax money would come, then I would be really happy...but for now...WHAHOOO!!!! Now I have to go and finish that outfit!!!:rotfl:

And that's why I can't live near disney world... have fun!

Ok, I know I missed a TON of cute outfits. I love the stepsisters outfits and the ones for the farm and the aquarium. I know I'm forgetting some, so I'm extremely sorry. But I promise I thought they were all stinking adorable and made me wish I had kids... and that I wasn't askerred to try to make clothes.

Good night everyone!

Rachel

I got quoted by Miss Cammie!!!! Wow I am soo excited. I have been following your trip report and just love it!! It makes me so excited to take my kids to Disney someday!!

Thank you very much for the kind compliments!

Thank you!! The sky really wasn't that difficult, just time consuming. If anybody is interested I used a product called Cloud Wash from Watercolor Walls online.

Jess

I'm so excited for you!! Having a little girl. I'm so on the baby fence right now. Oddly enough I've been reading a lot about "Unassisted Birth"...no midwives, no intervention from ANYONE...just me. Is it weird that I am comforted by that thought? My mom said,

"Well I did it...natural birth...it wasn't THAT bad and I just prayed and sang church hymns..." That's my mommy!

I want to see pictures when you get them done! A tutorial even! So far I have only cut stuff then traced it onto my heat 'n' bond (like the ladybug on this shirt. I made this outfit today for my 19 mo. old neice BTW)

IMG_0203-1.jpg

Love it! I wanted to see the back. I think I will eventually have to get this pattern!

And here is Lily in her Disney petti. I got it when it was 40% off so I think it was like $14.50 or something. SOOO worth it! She LOVES it. Did not want to take it off. Then she wore it out in the sandbox :scared1:

IMG_0210-1-1.jpg

I am CRAZY for ladybugs! SUCH a darling outfit!!!

Lily is the most darling little cupcake!!! I love the Disney Petti!! :)

That's me and my Mom all right! But, that's Brian, my husband, and not Corey. If you can see the guy in the Goofy hat in the background, that's our brother.

OH and PS...guess what happened to us tonight...

about 1am...we're all snoozing...Sally and Teddy and sleeping away...Jay is OUT...suddenly I sit up in bed with my little bunny rabbit sniffle nose going b/c I can smell SMOKE! And it's hurting my lungs and making me cough!

So I jump out of bed and check on the kids, both sound asleep...but the smoke smell is so strong...but the alarms aren't going off.

I have to SHAKE Jay to wake him up.

We check all over, can't find the source but it's strong. So we called the Fire Department...non emergency number of course...not 911.

They tell us to get everyone OUT. So we wake up the munchkins and put them in Jays SUV...along with the dog.

A police officer::cop: arrives, walks in and says "It smells like a CANDLE...do you have a CANDLE burning..."

I wanted to slap him. Seriously. Do you honestly think we wouldn't have y'know...figured that one out for ourselves?

AND I have strep throat AND a fever so I'm NOT very patient right now.

Police officer tells us that the fire chief:firefight will be along shortly...

Next thing you know FIVE fire trucks pull up in front of our house...lights going, sirens screaming...about 30 fire fighters:firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight :firefight ...no joke...all suited up HEAD TO TOE come streaming OUT of the trucks.

I'm a little freaked out...cuz the smoke is thick in the house.

Turns out our dishwasher caught ON FIRE and was burning the bottom of the counter. But it was a weensy fire.

good GRACIOUS.

the thirty young firefighters who were SO amped to put out some fire and save some damsels in distress were pretty bummed.

So NOW...we have to buy a new dishwasher.

Our neighbors hate us.

Sally can't fall asleep.

and the smoke made my throat hurt worse AND I'm having a wheezy asthma attack and had to use my wheezer IN FRONT of people which I HATE to do.

not a good night for the Campbellscots.

:headache:

okay...it's 2:15 am...must try and sleep.

night loveys!!!:goodvibes

so glad everyone is all right! A few years ago friends of mine lost their house and dog due to the dishwasher fire!:scared1:

CambellScot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not believe you are saying this. You know I love you very much  ( I really do) and I have no idea what you are reading, but I must say that you would be safer letting your kids play in the middle of a busy street. I am sure most cars would swerve around them then try to give birth unassisted. Just my opinion is all....I still love ya sis! ;)

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Ahhhhhhhhh! I am sooo glad everything turned our alright! One time one of the girls plastic cup lids fell off the top rack onto the heating element and started to burn. Yuck! The smell was awful. It didn't burn much so we didnt need a new washer but I distinctly remember that terrible smell. I hope your asthma is improving! During asthma season or when I am sick, I am on three different meds to try to control mine. Yuck! Feel better soon! :thumbsup2 :flower3: Perhaps you can get in a nap this afternoon!

As always, I lurked all week and loved all of the customs posted this week. I wish I had more time and energy  to post more often but I wanted to say I loved the appliques and fabrics and everything! You gals rock!!! :rockband: Ok I am off to clean and sew...its freezing cold and rainy here :sad2:

Hello friends! We are back from out meet with Heather and Teresa and I am exhausted. Here is a mini trip report:

The invitation went out: meet for the campfire. I had to make a campfire outfit. But what? I remembered that Morgan had the perfect bandanna fabric peasant top so I CASEd it, hoping she might be there:

IMG_0458.jpg

We got to Wilderness Lodge and met the sisters for lunch. Of course they are just as gorgeous as they are on the computer. And three dimensional too!

The girls were shy at first but quickly warmed up. They gave the kids stick horses at the cafe:

IMG_0473.jpg

Then we ate and decided to go to the Magic Kingdom. We waited for a bus. And waited. And waited.

IMG_0479.jpg

Jacob is making a face at Arminda, who just got up from the bench and ran off. I don't know why she didn't want me to take her picture sitting next to a boy! :rotfl:

The girls made their own campfire because we were thinking of blowing off the real one at this point and just staying at MK.

IMG_0478.jpg

Finally, the bus came and we were off. The girls had so much fun together and Jacob enjoyed showing off for Arminda. When we got up the next day, Megan told me it was Tessa's turn to sit by her first and was quite upset when I told her we weren't meeting them. I hope we can do it again!

Sorry I didn't take more pictures. We were having so much fun I forgot. Heather and Teresa's dad took a bunch and hopefully they can figure out how to get them off the camera! ;)

Miss Cammie! I am so glad you all are safe. Good thing for your extra sensitive nose! I hope you can get the smoke smell out of the house.

Did you iron on interfacing to the back of the fabric first??

Yep...we even tried 2 different kinds (I think one may have been a little thicker). Also, I figured it it can cut chip board, and they added the multi-cut option to the E for it, it shouldn't void the warranty. That stuff is much thicker than paper!

Yes, you absolutely can use the cricut to cut fabric appliques out. I've done lots of disney ones. I was going to do some this weekend to be able to show everyone before I shared this great piece of information but since the cat is out of the bag.... YES!!
I always apply my fusible web first and be sure to use a sticky mat. It works very well. You do need to clean the blade from time to time to clear out the fuzzies.
I'm currently looking for a good price on the Pooh cartridge so that I can make these ones too.

Hobby Lobby has carts 2/$99 through today. I got both Pooh carts there on Monday, making them $45 each.

How thick was the fabric you cut? The fabric I cut the fist time was the turquoise Mickey head fabric from Hancock and is a little thin. When I tried to cut black from Hobby Lobby that is a little thicker it wouldn't cut. The mat was quite sticky, since I had just taken it out of the package. Maybe I should try again? What pattern of fusible web do you use? I really want to get it to work! The mickey head shapes we cut when it did work took like 3 seconds and are perfectly round.

Hey, shameless plug: I updated my Trip Report!

So I've decided to make clothes for myself. I'm a plus size model so I think if I make my own clothes they will fit better then what I'm getting at the stores. Also I don't have a single summer top to wear for work. Here's three fabrics I've just picked up and a pattern. Tell me what you think.

IMG_0622.jpg

Also DD8 wants to be Narissa the wicked step-mother from Enchanted for Halloween and I found this fabric in the clearance section at Joanne's. I think I'm going to use it for her cape or something.
IMG_0623.jpg

I don't know if you can tell but the red spiders are sequined. The fabric itself is velour and it's very heavy, so I don't want to make the dress out of it or she'll be too hot.

DD8 just saw a friend's fleece poncho with beading at the bottom and she's asked for a HM one and DD5 has asked for one too. I figure that's what I'll be doing on Mother's Day!

Here is my first attempt at the new pattern ... I'm not loving it, but I will practice more this weekend! I just wish I'd used cheap fabric for my first one. Oh well, dd2 will be pleasantly surprised when she wakes up :)

GisellesSundress.jpg
That is so pretty. I have to ask what did you use for the Giselle fabric?

HI guys how goes the sewing ?
it has been a crazy couple of weeks here not a whole lot of sewing going on although i have enough fabric and patterns to keep me busy:thumbsup2 it's just that it is really not worth it when Mayson is getting into everything behind my back he really just wants to help but i had to draw the line at sewing and sanity when he almost cut his fingers off with some scissors Trying to cut some fabric :scared1:
I saw that we have a new thread again so i am just gonna have to check out photobucket to see the awesome new outfits posted ..
Plus my husband also graduated from college with his bachelors in business and accounting :cool1: :thumbsup2 now in 3 wks he starts his masters.
Plus i am also reading The Host Stephenie Meyers new book so i am hooked on that also . it is easier to read while mayson is next to me ..;) i just wanted to say ....

Congrats to dh!

I have The Host, just haven't started it yet. I need to finish Mansfiel Park first. I *think* I'm getting Twilight & New Moon for Mother's Day. :cool1: :woohoo:

Cool - I am "girlstar" there, but I enjoy reading more than posting... just like here.

I'm "calicokitty" there, but I don't post much either. This board is a lot more supportive, at least to me, but there are a lot of great ideas to found on Craftster.

so glad everyone is all right! A few years ago friends of mine lost their house and dog due to the dishwasher fire!:scared1:

yikes! Yeah, my nose is pretty sensitive so I was ON IT before the fire alarms even got to it! :cool1: We're all good! We need a new dishwasher and anything that was plastic that was IN the dishwasher is now garbage...Jay is flipping out ever so slightly. But that is pretty par for the course with Jay!

:lmao: You are SO sweet to be concerned. I'm seriously just in the "research" stage. I promise. I know me and if the time were to ever come I'm sure I'd be the first one looking for doctors and drugs!

I'm just LOOKIN!:goodvibes

yep we're all good!!! Jay is obsessively cleaning. Which he loves...so it all worked out!;)
