I love that quilt! Great job!

Castle - I agree, your work is beautiful. I can tell your love for sewing and I would not lower your price (although I am sure you weren't). I don't think some people really get what is involved in sewing. I'll get crazy offers too sometimes, the one that sticks out the most in my mind was one for $25 for overalls. Hmm, the overalls alone will be $15 + tax so leaves less then $10 for supplies and time. Umm, nope! And they needed them within 4 days.

Boutique clothes - I think there is a HUGE range of boutique clothes and I can easily see how some don't care for them. I am in that strange boat of people that don't care for alot of what is out there, handmade and manufactured, but obviously I LOVE some of them too. My son had his disney outfits long before this thread was ever started.

I also don't like most character clothing (usually screenprint though) and I myself do have character clothing too, so it just depends on what the item is. It does not bother me what so ever what someone else dresses their children in.

I forget what else I was going to say since I didn't quote anyone! I know there have been some cute outfits I missed commenting on.

I went to buy a pair os scissors yesterday. Told dh I need some scissors. You should have seen the look!:rotfl: He said we had tons of scissors at home!

I need a pair of pinking shears. I didn't realize how expensive they are. $18 at Walmart. I wonder if AC moore carries them I have a 50% coupon and I get a discount on that for being an educator.

I just need more scissors!

Okay, so I'm pretty new to the whole custom clothing thing but I did want to share with you my quilt that I made for my DH for Christmas a couple of years ago.
I came up with the design and appliques. This was my first quilt ever.
I've done several other Disney appliques but they were for friends and I don't have photos to share.
We are going to Disneyland in December and I'm starting to plan out my projects for our kids. You all do so many beautiful things!

ok, you know your up to late sewing when you start and realize something isnt right... than you figure out you threaded the needle with the bobbin thread. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Ok, now THAT's funny!

the applique's are nothing special, but I am just glad to have successfully completed one thanks to the GREAT tutorial posetd here:worship: :worship: Thank you to the op on that one!!!!!!!! It really helped a newbie.

Thank you so much for saying that you found my tutorial useful!! That means a lot to me!

These outfits turned out SOO cute! GREAT job! Your little one is adorable, too!

found it- Ill try to describe it and see if that helps
How to tie a proper bow (with fully lined ties)
Facing dress, take each tie in opposite hand- left tie in right hand, etc
cross the left tie over the right tie
wrap it under right tie and pull up and to the right gently, but firmly
take right tie (that is now on the left) and form "bent bunny ear"
take left tie (dangling over on right side) and pull down and to left- to wrap around bunny ear, as you come up behind bunny ear pull thru hole and to to the right-adjust and tighten.
So the right tie ends up at the left side of bow and left tie becomes right side of bow.
Got that?
Yeah, that sounds easy enough. I added it to the bookmarks under "techniques and how-tos" so I can try it out later.

I have to say I feel I am being "blamed" for someone twisting what I said. So I think I am going back to sewing and keeping my mouth shut on this board.
It's easy to be misunderstood online. It's no big deal! We don't blame anyone for it!

I remember you, and your cute kids! I love the purse and corset top. Your DS is SOO adorable on that pony!

As a matter of fact, I just started one! The link is in my sig (shameless plug).
:woohoo: I'm going to check it out!

Okay ladies and Tom I have a question. How do you store your YCMT patterns and instructions after you have printed them? Do you use an envelope or a notebook or what? I just printed my second pattern and I need to figure out the best way to store them so they don't get lost or messed up.
I don't print up the instructions, just the pattern pieces that I need. Then, I fold them and put them into a quart sized zip-loc bag. I label them with the pattern name and the sizes I have in there. Then, I put them in the shoebox sized storage box that I keep the rest of my patterns in. I also have all of the patterns burned onto a CD in case my computer poops out.

Cant decide which pattern to do..NEED HELP choosing. For Pooh multi color toile (are you all sick of me posting about this? Im so sorry, I just cant decide and could really use some opinions on these patterns.
Butterick B4112
I really like the first pattern you posted. It sounds easier, too. But, I also LOVE the one that Glorib made with the apron over the top. I think that would be adorable with your Pooh fabric.

On another note, for those of you that pray, remember my FIL tomorrow. He is having prostate surgery. They found cancer in his prostate, so hopefully the surgery will take care of it. Just remember him and my family in your prayers.

Also, remember me and my girls, we are traveling on Tuesday, and I hope we have a safe trip!

Thanks!

Tiff
I'll be praying for your FIL. We have a friend who was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. We also have another friend that went through surgery for it and he came through wonderfully.

That is so cool!!!! You did an amazing job!

It reminds me of another quilt I should be working on!

Do y'all know if there's a YCMT discount available? I'm ordering a ton of patterns and the discount would be great. Thanks!!!!!

Yes, AC Moore has Fiskars brand. I bought a pair for DD a few weeks ago using my 50% off coupon. I'm slowly stocking her new sewing box with supplies using the coupons.

I don't think there is one. There was one that was good until April 1st. That's the last one that I have seen.

Can Bitty Baby/AG dolls be purchased in stores? Or only online?

Grrr...still waiting to hear from YCMT.com regarding accessing dress pattern- I was not logged in at at time of purchase so its not in my library...and I bought 2 patterns that way- the Dainty Designs one as well...

HeatherSue- the first pattern I posted was the dress LoriB made, then I posted the 4112. Now Im leaning towards the Portrait pattern and doing a top and capri with ruffle- or dress with ruffle.....
I think you mean you like the 4112 pattern...

What pattern was it that you bought? The laptop that is broken.... What is wrong with it? If the hard drive is not fried than you can have the hard drive put into a working computer and access the files that were on it that way.

There are a few AG stores where you can buy the dolls. I know there are stores in New York, Chicago and LA. They may also have a few more locations, not sure. We usually buy on-line when there is a free shipping code.

 Okay I just LOVE this quilt. You did an AMAZING job on it!!!!! It is just beautiful!!!!!! :cloud9:

laptop-yeah my husband has to take it to work and fix it- but he cant be bothered with helping me access the file and I wanted the pattern today anyway. basically-when he fixes it is when I will have access to it again and he has a long to do list, my guess is if he can fix it I will get it by Fri, if he cant it will be sent out and that usually takes a few days. He's a techie.
in fact if you are into voip, gagets, etc heres his blog

AG dolls- thats what I was afraid of. Well that stinks. Cause my parents never buy big ticket items online and they certainly wont be making the 3hr drive to NY....sigh....maybe my in laws....but doubtful. Well if no one gets her one we will have to buy her one when we get back.
How do they compare to the ones they put together for you at Epcot's Der TeddyBar? (forgive me if I asked that question already)

I am currently an Industrial Electronics Technology student. So yes I  gadgets. I love knowing how stuff works. Let me tell you I was shocked at how simple digital has been so far.

Hi everyone!
It was suggested that I come check out if you can help me. I will be 5 months pregnant for our trip to WDW next month and wanted to wear Disney T-shirts or tanks, but they are no where to be found. Any suggestions??
