I see the Doxie in those eyes!! Beware...she could be prone to bouts of extreme stubbornness and willfulness...and she'll steal your heart and be running the household in no time at all! Doxies are the boss of EVERYTHING!!!:goodvibes

she's darling. You are an angel for adopting her!! So sad about her mommy.

congrats on your new baby! I know you will love her!

Hi Everyone,

Okay - I promise I am almost done with all the swim suit talk - I think since the suits are on sale, Im going to get Elizabeth and Hannah the yellow Minnie Rashguards from Disneyshopping plus the matching halter swim suits (and we will just use the bottoms). Now, when I was at the store, the rashguard shirts looked like they were realy small - does anyone have one that they have actually been able to try on their kiddo???? Hannah is a 2 and Elizabeth is a 7 - but in the shirts, Im not so sure,,,,,

Thanks so much - just trying to be Aunt Wendy,,,,,

Hello everyone, I have been lurking on this board for awhile now and decided to take on a few projects for my daughter, So I went to Joann's yesterday looking for the minnie dot material and I found some and the white dots are huge 3 1/8 inches....Is that what you were all buying?

And I am doing the jean capris with the multi-color mickey scrapbooking buttons I saw on here. They were on sale so I picked them up..

Wish me luck and let me know if I bought the wrong fabric<-----I won't be at all suprised if I did!:confused3

Hi guys!! i just bought the scalopinni skirt pattern from Carla C on YCMT. I an thinking I will use it with the dark purple tink fabric fror walmart. Has anyone who is a sort of beginner done it? It looks like something I can do, but I am scared of an "advanced" pattern. Also, has anyone done it with the tulle layer? How did it work out?

Here is the latest! I started this like 2 months ago, and just got around to finishing it. I feel like that happens a lot around here:lmao:

I have no action shots because Zoe immediately spilled chocolate milk on it after she put it on for the first time.

I love all the new stuff I have been seeing. I noticed Heathersue and Theresajoy are on a roll! I can see why! 7 days! I am so jealous.
I think our trip is being moved back until January. We have has a lot going on, and it may have to wait:(

On another note, tomorrow is Nathan's 3rd Birthday, and we are having a Cars party for him next weekend. I want to make the favors ( I'm trying to stay away from the bag O junk ). I was going to make the chalk rollups, but I don't think I'll have time now. Can anyone suggest anything cool to make for the party?

I bought two for my daughter, I got her mediums. She wears a 6x. She is tall and skinny. It seems they run pretty true to size. HTH!

I did the skirt and found it very easy. I am not a beginner, but I have only been really sewing for less than a year. I haven't done it with the tulle layer. I would think with Carla's instructions you could do it. She is very easy to understand and you don't need a lot of sewing knowledge to get it. Good luck!

Who knows what I did to the pictures, sorry! I am posting a little tipsy, lol.

Cute little whale! It looks great and your applique is perfect. I hope the chocolate milk comes out. :headache: Good luck with Nathan's party, hope someone else here has a great idea, not me, lol!

Hi Steph, Thanks for the info....I need just a little more help - Elizabeth is tall too, but not skinny - do you think I should get her a M or a L - I do want the top to overlap the bottoms a bit - thoughts???? Thanks soooo much!!!!

Oh my goodness!! THAT is a sweet little face!!!! She looks like a little love muffin!

I took the outfits over to my brother's house for Courtney and Casey to try on today. They LOOVED them!!! I was so happy!!! :lovestruc

Her is Courtney Love (no, her name isn't really CourtneyLove, but that's what we call her)
b504b054.jpg

and here is Casey Joyce or Caseyjoy as she'd be known on Dis! ;)

They are such sweet girls, I'm so happy I could do something special for them.

MY GIRLS!!! I almost didn't recognize Courtney! I'm not used to seeing her in such a gorgeous outfit! They look so pretty and I just love the look on Casey's face. She looks so proud! That was so sweet of you to make these for them.

:welcome:!! The Minnie Dot I have has smaller dots, more like 1" or 1.5". The huge dots could be cute, though! I can't wait to see what you make!

I made Tessa's Chip and Dale skirt with the scallopini pattern. I love this pattern! I did the tulle layer that is not detachable. I think it was pretty easy.

This is so cute!! Sorry about the chocolate milk. You guys are making me want some whale fabric...

congrats on your new baby! I know you will love her!
She is already trying to boss Miss Tinker around. She doesn't let Tink push her around at all.

I have been looking for red with white dot fabric and have not seen any to match my whales. :( I guess I am going to have to start searching online lol. I am loving all the new stuff! You guys are so gifted!

I went to my grandparents house today to drop Jenna off with them for the weekend and I mentioned to my grandpa that I was looking for some button up shirts to make dresses for Jenna. He told me to go look in his closet and I could have whatever I wanted. Jenna picked out some really pretty ones. A blue striped one, a multi-colored plaid one and a gray and yellow plaid one. She wanted more, but I told her that Pawpaw might need some shirts. (He has close 50 or more shirts. So he's not shirt poor.) The ones that she picked out still had the plastic on them from when they got dry cleaned several years ago. :lmao: He wears more comfortable shirts now that he is finally getting old (as he says).
Can't wait to see your creations.

...last night I finished more shorts for my little boy
th_2008_04260002.jpg
:wizard: Good luck with your stunt. Hope you can find a better option.

Shorts are great, DS is very handsome, and Tinkerbell is a cutie!

I need to catch up, but I thought I'd post the Snow White outfit I finished for my neice last night. I haven't done the cape yet. We'll see if I have time or not before we go. I used Carla's peasant dress pattern, and changed the waist line a little. It's hanging a little funny, and I need to press it, but I think Courtney will like it.

(I took a Snow white thingy off an old pair of Arminda's shoes. ;) )

th_DSCF2668.jpg
Very cute and you neice looked VERY happy it!

A few from our recent trip. Haven;t been able to keep up since our trip a month ago and now we're on to planning our next trip in January. This time it will be non-Disney cruise and 1-2 days at Disney after.
Your pictures were wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to share this gorgeous outfit that my darling sister made for Tessa. She made matching ice cream outfits for all of her nieces and daughters. So, she made a total of 5! I did the appliques and she did everything else. The girls are going to wear them when we go to Beaches & Cream for the kitchen sink. I believe bibs will be in order!:rotfl:

Awesome! You are all going to have such a great time!

I have not posted pics in a while b/c I didn't have batteris for my camera, but her is what I have been up to:

th_DSC00437.jpg

Made anastasia a cute everyday outfit! she loves it. I love the colors. even the hubby liked it!
th_IMG_4184.jpg
Beautiful!

Hello all...I survived the birthday slumber party last night...actually it worked out quite well. The only tragety of the whole thing was I left the camera on the table when we left to go horseback riding:sad2: Here are some pics...it was Enchanted! After everyone left I was able to finish a Daisy Kingdom outfit with cute searsucker fabric from Walmart....I am making the dress of the same pattern...this was the two piece pattern. The ruffles were time-comsuming cause you had to do a narrow hem on the top and bottom then ruffle and attach and sew again. However the results were nice so I am happy..

th_IMGP5335.jpg

Looks like a fun party! LOVE that outfit!

Totally Wasted DAY!!!
Sorry about that but I'm sure you had a great time today!

AFter a fight with my sewing machine and lots of use of my seam ripper I finally finished the dress. DD really wanted to wear it to her friends birthday party today so I did all 9 buttons one hour before the party!
th_2008_0426Image0004.jpg
Worth the fight! Beautiful!

I am so excited that I finally get to post something I sewed! :goodvibes I took a class today and we made PJ pants for my 14 year old. I know not rocket science but a first step! The coolest thing was that my hubby wanted to me to go ... and he watched the kiddos. It was my first real day away from kids since early fall it was so COOL!
th_pjpants022-1.jpg

The print is sock monkeys I am going to applique a shirt for her that will match it.
Great job!

Here is the outfit I just made for my other neice, Casey (she's 10)to wear to BBB. She asked for Jasmine. She looks really pretty in blue, so this should work out nice. I may add some trim to this, but I'm waiting to see how much time I have before I start that!

I haven't posted here in AGES, but I thought I'd share a little of what I've been up to for all you old timers who remember me from when the Disboutique thread first got started. ;)

yway, I just thought I'd share. It's been a long time since I've posted here (this thread moves at the speed of light and I can't keep up anymore), but I usually try to take a peek at the darling creations everyone has made. Just thought I'd pop in and say "Hi!"
Those are wonderful!

Been a while since I shared something so here is what I did this morning.

Dallas is all ready for his jedi training!

SO cute! Great applique!

I got a buttonhole lesson from my SIL. She's a great teacher! She showed me how to do a good job marking so I'ld put the buttonhole in the right place and make it the right size. She told me if I didn't have taylor's chalk to use a worn thin bar of soap and it washes off nice & easy.:thumbsup2 So buttonholes are all done!

I've been busy packing for my trip. I'm getting the Owner's Locker for the first time so I want to mail a few boxes of stuff done for that.

I think my DD that I'm taking to WDW might have chicken pox.:scared1: She has been vacincated but didn't have the booster before kindergaren yet. She's only got 10 little spots right now. I noticed the first little spot yesterday-thought it was a bug bite. She should be OK to fly by next Sunday.

The whale outfit is adorable!

Heather is much more organized than I, so she had most of her stuff done looong ago! I've put it off to the last minute!!! Well, I still have a few days left, right?? I can't believe we are leaving FRIDAY!!!!   I'm so nervous!!!
Who knows what I did to the pictures, sorry! I am posting a little tipsy, lol.
Oh GOOD!! I'm not the ONLY one who does this!:thumbsup2 :lmao:

:scared1: I'm SHOCKED!!! Truly SHOCKED!!! :scared1:

I've heard of the owners locker, but am a little confused what it is. Do you store stuff there all year?

Corey got chicen pox when we went to Florida when he was 5. He sat right next to a kid in his class that got chicken pox the week before we left! He was good for a week, then he got what I thought was a bug bite while we were at MGM, then he got more, and more and more, and more, until there was no denying, it was CHICKEN POX!!

7b7507a1.jpg

I'm thinking he had 100, and most of them were on his face!! I got the girls the chicken pox vaccine.

Poor little guy! My DD's 5 but she has been vaccinated. She's got a few low on her belly, a few on her legs-behind the knees, and a couple on the back of her neck-none on her face yet.

Did you fly to FL on that trip? Did they let him back on the plane?

Owner's Locker is a storage box that you pay an annual fee for. The $99/year includes one visit's delivery & pickup of your box. Additional trips are $25 but they are having a special right now where you got 2 trips for the first 3 years. You also have to pay an enrollment fee but that includes your first delivery. I've been taking about 3 trips per year and always UPS a box to the resort. I only take 1 checked bag total for our family of 5. So the storage box will have all the stuff I keep in my "Disney box"-spray fans, pop up hamper, water bottle holder, ect...I also bought a 2nd battery charger for my camera and one for my cell phone. Now I'll never have to worry about any of the extra "stuff". I'll probably have to take a 2nd checked bag on my next family trip as I used to send a few extra outfits in the UPS box. I'm looking forward to trying out this service.

Here's the Pooh dress I made DD. I made it way too long at first and had to take it apart and cut off 4". It looks really cute on now.

And a fun pair of shorts for older DD.

Hello everyone! We're back...and I can't feel my feet. Here's a rundown of what we did..a mini trip report..per say.
We arrived at MK at 8:30. Watched the welcome to the park show.
Big Thunder Mountain 2 times
Peter Pan, Met Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, Tea cups (Ireland only), Buzz LightYear, then we were approached by the dream team and Miss Ireland wasn't being her usually nice self, so we only scored two-re entry tickets. Met a Diser on TTA, I think her name was VanessaV...(sorry if I'm butchering it), She had a lime green Mickey head on her bag and printed on it was Disboards, and her name...it was a neat idea. We saw push and the guy who controls push, Space Mountain, Lunch at Casey's, Met Snow white and dumbo,
Headed to Animal Kingdom, at this point, I had already threw my sneakers away and was working on a pair of flip flops. Ireland had also visited the first aid for bandaids for her feet.
At AK, we did Everest, Nemo Show, Lion King show (twice) Ireland is obsessed with the gymnast monkeys, met Rafiki, Pocohontas, and Flik, the Safari ride, the Conservation Station train thing, ...I'm thinking that's it...maybe more that I forgot...
Here are a few photos.

Oh, she looks like a sweetie! I love puppies! The little sharp pin teeth, puppy breath (this is the only time I can stand the way a dog's breath smells - as much as I love my Oscar, I want to vomit when I smell his breath!) how soft they are, everything!
