Ok, Ok, you all have talked me into it!!! I'm going to do the peasant dress for Cinderella!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:confused3 What? I'm the only one here?? :confused3 No one was talking me into anything? :confused3 huh.....weird.....

:rotfl2:
Here I'll talk you into it. Please Please make the Cinderella dress. It would be so cute. :rotfl:

LOVE the shirt! Is it an embroidery design, or did you hand applique? If it's an embroidery design, do you mind sharing where you got it?

The crown was an applique that I hand did. It was only 2 pieces then I glued on the little stones. It was super easy..and everyone loved it. :rotfl:

Okay, I have to share the funniest thing my DH said last night. We just changed our reservations to add another day

He started for the first time asking questions about our trip...several of his co-workers just returned from trips...so he wants to make sure I am prepared:rotfl2: ...he has yet to see the 2" binder with info...

So, he was asking about our hotel and what there is there and he asked if there was a place to do laundry. I said yes, he said...hold on here is the funny part...

"Great, we don't have to pack but maybe 3-4 outfits per kid then we can do laundry mid week and save space in the van!":lmao:

Funny guy! Has he no idea how I have been killing myself sewing! Oh, that's right...he really has no idea because I hide it all in fear he will freak over how much is being spent on fabric! My logic...wait till we are at WDW...the kids look adorable, then he won't freak...

but really...3-4 outfits!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I will never catch up on everybody's outfits, but they are all very cute! Love the Mickey Jedi...the reason for moving our date is to do Star Wars weekend with our kids... that means I need more fabric!!!!

MUST SEW...

I just wanted to share this gorgeous outfit that my darling sister made for Tessa. She made matching ice cream outfits for all of her nieces and daughters. So, she made a total of 5! I did the appliques and she did everything else. The girls are going to wear them when we go to Beaches & Cream for the kitchen sink. I believe bibs will be in order!:rotfl:

She said "Watch, I can run like the wind!"

Modeling is all in the hands (at least it seems she thinks so):

Love it! Love her model hands too. :lmao:

Teresa, maybe you've already finished but I think Carla's peasant dress pattern makes a perfect Cinderella dress (or top)!

Awww!! That is one of my favorite outfits.

AFter a fight with my sewing machine and lots of use of my seam ripper I finally finished the dress. DD really wanted to wear it to her friends birthday party today so I did all 9 buttons one hour before the party!

And the back!
th_2008_0426Image0005.jpg

The sun was in her eyes so she kept closing them! I love this fabric, just wasn't easy to sew with. The needle kept getting caught in the little flowers. We got lots of great comments at the party!

It so cute & spring-y! I really like that fabric.

I was on my way home to Alabama for the weekend and I stopped at a Wal-Mart outside of Birmingham to let the kids walk around and get a snack. I could have stopped at a conveniece store but I thought, I want to look and see if they have any fabric that I can't live without. Well, we were strolling through the fabric dept (it was a really nice one -- pretty big too) and Michael said "Mommy, LOOK!!!!". Low and behold there was a bolt of Pokemon fabric!!!!!!!!!!! We had a fit!!!!!!!!! Michael was saying "can we get it, can we get it" -- you better believe we can!!!!!!!!!!!! This fabric had to be hiding somewhere b/c the ticket on it was all faded and looked really old. We bought 4 yards. He wants some shorts for summer and pillowcase out of it. I will probably make him some more things to. We were just so thrilled to have found it. I had been searching Voldemort last week for fabric, sheets, etc. but just couldn't bring myself to bid on anything. Now I don't have to.

Anyways.....here is my lucky find!

I haven't posted here in AGES, but I thought I'd share a little of what I've been up to for all you old timers who remember me from when the Disboutique thread first got started. ;)

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. It's been a long time since I've posted here (this thread moves at the speed of light and I can't keep up anymore), but I usually try to take a peek at the darling creations everyone has made. Just thought I'd pop in and say "Hi!" :wave2:

They are all sooo cute! I love Fancy Nancy. She's quite popular around our house. And dd1 loves Momo(Elmo). Great job!

LOVE that! I had to save the pic so I can make one like it in the future. Very cute!

hey again "friends"....when it rains it pours with me. I just got back from the doctor and found out I have a cyst on my right ovary ths size of a Basketball. YES, a basketball, he said is is in my entire abdomenal region. I went to the doctor saying that I have been having bad cramps for my period and they did a trans******l ultrasound to find the cyst. They have decided to remove my right ovary. Now I have to deal with being in the hospital for 2 days, and recovery is a month. My DH travels with his job for those that don't know and is gone Monday - Friday. And all the problems i have been having with my DD. My doctor wants me to do this surgery ASAP, but no later than 1 month away. I lost it at the doctors office and was balling like a baby. I felt so stupid, let me tell ya! Im really scared and coudl use your prayers and well wishes. Guess im telling y'all cause im really still in shock and scared. I asked how common cyst are, and he says he has been treating for over 22 years and this is the 3 largest he has saw. THey are not at all common. :scared1:

:grouphug: Good thoughts, prayers and pixie dust coming your way! You have your hands full, even without health issues! It's normal to cry when something like this happens--not mention having waaaaayyy too much on your plate!

Here is my latest. I finally made a skirt for my friend's DD7. She wanted something with brown and orange. I hope she likes it. It is the YCMT peekaboo twirl skirt.

th_IMG_0131-1.jpg

Hey! If she doesn't like it, can you enlarge it! Love it!

hey ya'll don't post very often mostly just to post ooohs and aaahs over everybody fabulous stuff! I decided to share some of the stuff my mom made for my 2 girls. It's nothing over the top but my girls love 'em nevertheless!

thanks for looking!:goodvibes

Love them! Tell your mother she does terrific work!

Customs don't have to be OTT--but it's fun when they are at times!

Ok, I need advice. I got this fabric to make a Cinderella dress out of (the ballgown only out of cotton) for a friend's dd's birthday. Now, I'm not sure I like or that she'll like it. I'm trying to decide if I use it for the dress or do I get some solid Kana cotton & use this for something else later.

th_2008_04250041.jpg

Use it! It's gorgeous--IMHO! I like the cotton princess style outfits--much more practical than the costume variety. The costumes are gorgeous, but the girls always look so uncomfortable in the parks!

We got our Disney Store pettiskirt this week. I am starting to really like it because it can be worn to school. It was a hit with DD.

:thumbsup2

I just want to say, as I am in the middle of an outfit, that I am having a love-hate relatonship with my seam ripper. LOVE that I have one, HATE that I need it. :sad2:

Just call it reverse sewing! :rolleyes1

Not that I have any experience with it...:rolleyes1

That is certainly great news! I got some today also. Kirsta has been struggling with 1st grade. In part because she doesn't want to be there. And second, we think was from her hearing. She improved dramatically after she had tubes in her ears, tonsils and annoids out. She still doesn't like to read. But today she came home with 100% on her spelling test!!

:cheer2: Congratulations, Krista! :cheer2:

Hello everyone! We're back...and I can't feel my feet. Here's a rundown of what we did..a mini trip report..per say.
We arrived at MK at 8:30. Watched the welcome to the park show.
Big Thunder Mountain 2 times
Peter Pan, Met Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, Tea cups (Ireland only), Buzz LightYear, then we were approached by the dream team and Miss Ireland wasn't being her usually nice self, so we only scored two-re entry tickets. Met a Diser on TTA, I think her name was VanessaV...(sorry if I'm butchering it), She had a lime green Mickey head on her bag and printed on it was Disboards, and her name...it was a neat idea. We saw push and the guy who controls push, Space Mountain, Lunch at Casey's, Met Snow white and dumbo,
Headed to Animal Kingdom, at this point, I had already threw my sneakers away and was working on a pair of flip flops. Ireland had also visited the first aid for bandaids for her feet.
At AK, we did Everest, Nemo Show, Lion King show (twice) Ireland is obsessed with the gymnast monkeys, met Rafiki, Pocohontas, and Flik, the Safari ride, the Conservation Station train thing, ...I'm thinking that's it...maybe more that I forgot...
Here are a few photos.

She wasn't a very nice Fairy Godmother...:confused3
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20072054.jpg

The park was totally empty for the first 4 hours..
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20072088.jpg

This on the monorail between MK and AK...poor thing...

Expect for the blisters, it sounds like you had a great day. I'd love to be there when there was no one else around.

Her shirt is really cute & it's perfect with the pettiskirt.

I FINALLY have some pictures to post. I have been sewing my fingers off, making 4 outfits for someone's cruise.
Since they have the Toy Story show onboard, she wanted Toy Story outfits as well...here they are..
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20071727-1.jpg

th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20071724-1.jpg

And here is Miss Ireland in her Webkinz dress. We went to the local hallmark store so she could get a new one and play some games. It was fun!She brought home a new Orange and White cat named Nala. So now we have Reindeer, Greg, Little Inky, Little Abby, Princess, Bruno, Cassie, Cinderella, Lucky, and a few others, I can't think of the names right now..LOL
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20071722-1.jpg

Really love the Mickey & Minnie cruise outfits!

And I finally know what Webkinz are! You can tell I don't have children of a certain age in my life! *LOL*

HI:
I finally came out of the hospital after almost a week, well... the headache turned really bad and I was on morphine to control pain, I had a spinal tap and was told that the shunt is not working the doctors wanted to do the surgery while I was in the hospital but I refused, I need time to get everything ready as the surgery takes time to recover...

I do have a lot of pages to read :scared1: to catch on but all the outfits are so beautiful and you gals are so talented that I feel bad just showing my attempts to sew I got to sew some pants(shorts) for my boys

Linnette

:grouphug: I've read your other posts since this one, and understand your need to research more before going ahead with treatment. Hope your pain is manageable.

Love that you're sewing for your son! Once the guys in our life are over age three--five, if we're lucky!--it's hard to figure out what to make for them!

And your bags are terrific! $2.00 and some straight lines never looked so good! :thumbsup2

Linnette- Wow! Your son is a little hottie! ;) Now stop sewing and stop Dising and go prepare to get that headache taken care of!!

Twinsplus- I had a cyst on my ovary that ruptured- you think your cramps are bad now??? Trust me- go get that taken care of asap, if it bursts in is PAINFUL!!!! And mine wasnt big like that. I dont recall the size, it was when I was about 20 which was "ahem" a long time ago.

TeresaJoy- you designed the dress all on your own? Is the front part of the simply sweet pattern too? My heart just melted and I thought "ooooh I LOVE that" really sweet.

CastleCreations- I'm always so envious of Ireland's hair- she is such a beautiful girl!

Sewing- I whipped up another CarlaC's Aline-made it a bit longer- just below her butt this time, out of fabric with Dolphins for her to wear to Mystic Aquarium today. She got carsick all over herself 20min into our trip. I washed it out when we got there and was able to put it back on her at the end of the day. I used Carla's suggestion to replace buttons with ribbon to tie into bows- pulled thru the buttonhole- I loved this!

BIG scare for me today. At the end of the day we finished up with the aquarium and then had a late lunch at 10 Clams- a restaurant where everything is less than...."10 Clams" get it? Anywho, we came outside to order ice cream from the window, my parents said they didnt want any. My SIL were headed to the window to order, she had her 2 kids with her. I put DD2 stroller right next to my parents- the front tray was dropped and she got up and sat in it. I got to the window read the flavors, turned around and saw her standing, I yelled "Megan sit DOWN!" My parents didnt even blink or look her way. She fell over the stroller backwards and landed- back and head on the pavement. She screamed, I was already on my way to her, but just couldnt get there in time, she cried and cried and cried and then just stopped and was quiet and didnt want me to stop holding her. My Dad (family lives in different area of the state) drove the first 40min home for me so I could sit next to her. After he switched back to the other car I waited a bit and turned on a Disney music cd and started singing softly and she just quietly listened, and was back to her normal self, by the time we got home an hour later. My parents were sitting right next to her, but not paying attention to her, I am realizing that for whatever reason, as much as I love them, I cant trust them to be as sharp as they used to be, for various reasons that would take too long to cover here. I blame myself- I should have taken her with me up to the line. I feel extremely fortunate that she came out fine, just a lump on her head. Scared the living daylights out of me.

Yikes! What a scare for you! I feel for both you and your parents. I'm not accustomed to automatically watching little ones, so I can relate to their inattention. I'm probably about your parents age and quite sharp, but I don't think to watch children carefully unless I'm told I'm on child watch! It's just a matter of being in different places in life. Your life revolves around Megan--and rightfully so--but your parents haven't had the responsbility of a little one for many years. While there may be other issues, you need to be sure to coordinate with them when you are together if you need them to keep an eye on her for a bit.

I'm glad Megan is okay. And don't blame yourself too much--everything turned out fine and it's a lesson learned. Remember, children don't come with instruction manuals!

I have to post this picture because I think that this dress is just absolutely breathtaking. I did not make it though. I bought it on Etsy.
S2010144.jpg

I'm going to put it up and surprise Jenna with it when we go to WDW.

She now has two princess dresses and I'm making her a third one. Do you think that's enough? :lmao: Last year she didn't have any princess dresses and only two custom outfits. My how the Dis changes things. :lmao: This is Jenna's Snow White dress from Halloween.

Okay totally OFF topic but can soeone PLEASE help me find a discussion on The Disney Vacation Club? DH called today with a wonderful Idea that we should join and go several times a year. Since I am not one to argue, I am searching and searching for info so present to him when he gots home. I looked on the site, requested a DVD and a return phone call and now I am just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for the call. lol, DH NEVER has ideas like this and needs MONTHS of prep before even a little vacation cause he is not the vacation kind of guy so this is a surprise and I am super excited. Off to sw to pass the time!

I did not make either of these dresses. I bought the Snow White dress last year because it was only like $8 or $10. I knew that I wouldn't be able to make a dress that nice for that price. Jenna was very happy with it. I'm going to start the pink Cinderella dress tonight after Jenna goes to bed. It's a surprise too.

That really looks like TDS one Erin had a couple of years ago! She did a wonderful job on it.

My mom called last night and said she needs Erin's body today to fit dress #1. She is ready to put the elastic in it and needs to know how small to cut it. I told her she better get on it since we only have 38 more days to get the others done! LOL! I do plan on sewing one of the easier outfits. Then when we get back I might see about getting a machine of my own.
