Hi everyone, we've been back since Thursday, but just now getting out from under the loads and loads of laundry. Will post pics when I get them all together, but I have one question. What do I do now that we're back and have nothing to sew for? Hubby says no trip for 3 years:scared1:

3 years:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I say start sewing for the holidays! july 4th is next.
Lori

ok, so I finished DD's dress and I am pretty pleased with how it came out. Here is my first attempt at photo posting. Hope I can get it to come out

Your dd is adorable, and you did a great job on the dress!

mytwotinks: LOVE your AG store pics! I took Jayden there for her 9th birthday. We had so much fun! I might be taking her to the one in L.A. in June.

Here is what I have been up to: more boutique dresses. I'm sick of them. I need to do some headbands and more doll dresses, then I'm moving on to something else.

Very cute! And I love Sydni's poses!

Thanks, I thought she looked cute!!! I LOVE all of your dresses! Everything looks soooo great!

love all of these super adorable. how are your dresses selling at the boutique?

I love all of the dresses that have been posted today. I really like the way that the Zebra turned out.

Mytwotinks- It looks like you guys had a great time at AG. Your DD and her cousin look a lot alike. I love those matching outfits that you made.

I've been lurking for a long while and you've inspired me to make a shirt for my tomboy DD. She loves Cars so I made her this Butterick 3832. Unfortunately it is WAY too short. I'm going to make it again as it was so easy. I haven't used my sewing machine in over 4 years. Thanks again for sharing all your amazing work!!!!!!

the boutique is at the end of the month so I'm just trying to get some stuff done. I hope it sells. Now all my friends who go to this boutique are telling me to make bigger sized stuff for their 6-12 year old girls :scared1: I have no idea what to do.

cute! If she wasn't a tomboy, I'd say add a ruffle! We do that a lot around here when things don't work out.

That top is so cute. My daughter likes Cars too. Wal-Mart sells some croc-like shoes that look like Lightning.

Yup I don't think that would work for her. She's outgrowing some of it. As you can see in the photo she's growing her bangs out. She used to have really short hair-at her request for a "boy's cut" but now she wants longer hair. She still won't wear pink but she wears more than black lately. A few years ago white pants or shorts would have been out of the question.

I was thinking maybe I would use a different fabric for the lining or back on the next one. It was really quick to make and maybe I can do a better job on the shoulders of the next one.

Maybe I can make something "girly" for my almost 9 year old DD. I have a 7 year old DS too.

Thanks! I'll have to see if my Wal-Mart has them. The Payless ones have a stationary back that I don't she would like. I was thinking about getting the Payless (boys of course) Cars sneakers. I don't know if she'll wear those store bought capris or if I'll buy her white shorts.

BUT? Where's the size 5's ;)

Shoot, you should open a boutique store on e-bay featuring several Utah artisans. popcorn::

Denise (mytwotinks) - not sure where the quote went - but it looks like you had a great time! SO cute! Love the customs, btw!

I used Carla's simply sweet tops pattern and pants!

MYTWOTINKS-Looks like you guys had a great time and the girls' were adorable in their customs!

This is a fab outfit. I think I am going to try something with pants next. did you use the Carly C easy fit pants?

These dresses are great, even if you are sick of them you are great at it. One day i will get brave enough to try my hand at applique

great shirt!!! I am new here too and am just trying to keep up with all the great things these guys are making. Don't feel bad about it being too short. I had to cut down the dress I just made for DD. It was like 8 in too long. That's what I get for assuming I knew about how long it needed to be.

OK, I did it. Entirely from stash, in 6 hours, I have made a Peter Pan top that DD's in love with even though it does not have either TickTock or Tinker Bell. DH even gave it a 2 thumbs up! Thanks, HeatherSue! :worship:

I finally found a peasant top pattern that fits! :yay: I gave it one more try with a Butterick (after having no luck with on-line ones, McCalls, and Simplicity). Well, once I add 4 inches to the length! I made it out of muslin last night and made DD try it on first thing (length was 1/2" past her belly button before hemming!) then adjusted the length.

From the back, Nana's hidden! I might cut off the ties.

I'd forgotten how tiring applique is - I'm out of practice. And, I need a new sewing chair, so that's not helping. I'm sitting waaaaaay low.

In 12.5 hours, we'll be leaving!

Delicate Question (worded carefully):

Does the :wizard: fabric from "far away lands" come stinky?

If yes, is the stink easy to get out?

I was reading some comments on :wizard: and am scared to bid on said fabric.

:rotfl: There is a certain smell, but it does come out in the wash.

What pattern did you use for this top? All of your outfits are amazing, you're very talented!

How cute! I think my DD might even wear that.;) I love the zebra! I used to applique but my machine was really stiff today. I think I have to get it professionally cleaned if I'm going to keep lurking here.

Thanks! I didn't buy enough fabric to make it any longer. The pattern only had requirements for shirt & shorts so I just "estimated". If I had know it was on sale I would have bought more.

Great job!!! Loved the original too!

I wonder if all Butterick's are short.

Have an awesome trip!!!!

I think we have the patterns/material planned out and I will post those pictures tomorrow.

I knew Erin was thin, but had no idea HOW thin until we measured her for the pattern size. She is like a 3 on top but a 7 in length! :scared1: Thank goodness my mom knows what she is doing!
