You just sew it to the bottom. It is a straight piece, not ruffled, etc. You would put the 2 right sides of fabric together and add the piece. I suggest using a strip about 5 inches wide. The ric rac was sewn on-top of seam where the two meet.
Good Luck!
Susan
I hope I understood your questions correctly. You just decide how wide you want the contrasting fabric to be, then add on a bit for seam allowance and hem, then cut the strip to the width of the bottom of the dress and sew it on.
Are you using a real pillowcase or making one? If you are making it out of fabric, I would sew the strip on before you do the seams.
ETA: If you don't want to make the dress longer, make sure you subtract the strip width from your original dress length. (keeping in mind your seam allowance)
Good Luck on that!!!
I'm so SHOCKED!!My Aurora outfit that I just listed on
got a bid already....This outfit was definately a labor of love, and I wouldn't have minded keeping it. I guess I'll have to make another..

Allright, here is the number 2 Disney outfit. I'll try and post more tomorrow. This one was really easy... I just cut Aurora from a pillowcase and appliqued her to the tank, then made a super twirly skirt to match. The skirt has a very full eyelet petticoat attached underneath.

While I'm remembering, only because they just did a reminder on the 11 pm news, don't forget to move your clock forward an hour tonight, it's time to spring ahead... I almost forgot...
JUST AWFUL!
I went to Walmart today for the first time in oh a good month since I have been working so much. I wanted to get some fabric. I had Georgia with me so she could pick some for "everyday" clothing..right?
NO MORE FABRIC DEPT!!! I was like OOOOh well then there is no reason for me to keep shopping here. I felt a little tiny crack in my heart ..breaking. Oh me oh my.
OK vent over. haha We did get a Hannah Montana Wig and Lily doll. so this is what The Peach would look like with straight hair. haha

Great minds think alike!I didn't realize that Georgia was wearing a wig until I read it! I was wondering what you did to straighten her hair like that!![]()

I love it with the tulle!I know I showed this outfit before but it wasn't finished. It is now...and I found out, that the skirt can be worn two ways! I love how it came out. Ireland loves it too.

I'm working on another Aurora as we speak...I'm almost finished. It's kind of hard to stay motivated this week. It's my spring break from school, and I have my state board exam on Wednesday and I should be studying like crazy, but can't seem to do that either...![]()
Don't feel dumb! We are happy to answer questions around here! I was just really pleased to actually KNOW the answer to something for once! Thanks guys! Sounds REALLY easy, i kinda feel dumb for askingI am going to try to get the house and laundry done quickly tomorrow so i can try one!

I think it wold look fine with shorter straps.OK, so I was going to make Ella another apron style top tonight, but I just thought of a possible predicament. I think the ties may interfere with going potty (as in possibly dangle down into the potty - ack!) Do you all think these types of tops would look OK with shorter ties?
Hmmm, missing a quote here,
LoganHogan I loved all those outfits!!! Especially the Cinderella one!
