I got red big dot minnie dot on :wizard: You can do a search and just be emailed when someone lists some.

I haven't read back, but I think the pink minnie dot was some vintage fabric I had on a roll and shared. I am out of it, though. :(

Oh yes DOH! I meant Color Flow icing for the signs and Brer Rabbit. Sorry, I'm going on like 10 minutes of sleep with my in-laws here, the birthday party and this cake. (I wont admit I'm blonde and a little ditsy now. :rotfl: } Plus I think I've enhaled too much powdered sugar!!!! The color flow took forever as it was my 2nd attempt at it. I learned that I should have done the sign in solid blue then done the words on a different piece of wax and then

Don't apologize:) I just thought that maybe I was missing something. I really thought there was a such thing as "color form" in cake decorating and I totally missed it. lol.

For those of you looking for dot fabric, have you looked for sheet sets with the dot pattern? I did a quick google search and saw several sets of pink with white dot. I haven't searched for red/white since my boys won't wear it :rotfl2: Good luck

It says it is 6 parts but only looks like 2 parts to me- :confused3
And I posted on part "2" directing people to here :thumbsup2
   For getting the "old" thread back so we can use the book marks- Teresa you're going to work on them- I mean adding them to our blog- you know just in case right?!?!?! :scratchin

Gotta sick kid on the couch tonight- Poor baby. We're watchin noggin. I think it's going to be a long night- But I hope not

:crowded: I just had to use this one it is to funny.......:lmao:

I was planning on it! :thumbsup2 They are bookmarked and the bookmarks work now, but I don't want to lose them all again!

I hope your little one is feeling better soon!

Ugh! Still not feeling well, but dragged my butt to church so Megan got to wear her Marie outfit (she was a little upset because it wasn't Tuesday, but got over it):

I am not sure why photobucket is insisting on turning my pictures. I even loaded them onto my pc, rotated and then loaded them to photobucket and they turned them.

Teresa: in our serger class, we had one spool smaller (and a different color) than the others. does that help?

I'm sure I forgot lots of other people, but my head is foggy right now. Have a great day everyone!

Why Tuesday? :confused3

Megan looks so stinkin adorable in that!!!! I love the twirl and the way the underskirt flares out!!!! Tell Megan she is an EXCELLENT twirler! Love the pigtails too!

And, yes, that helps! Thanks! I would really love to take a serger class. Do you take your own to class with you?

There is a step by step tutorial for applique, that includes pics that has been posted by LisaZoe on the Disboutiquer board. You will need to be a member and log in in order to view. Membership is open to everyon, and is instant. We just ask that you log in so that we know who is viewing to avoid trolling.

Here is a link directly to the tutorial. If you don't go directly to it because you're stopped in the registration process, the tutorial is in the "General Sewing Tips" section.

I've bookmarked this thread too. There are some GREAT tips on there! :thumbsup2
And, LisaZoe's original applique tips should now be working in the bookmarks!

I would like to see a tutorial by Heather and any other of our fine appliquers too (ahem, Laura aka:the_Seamstress ??? ;) I like to see how different people do things so I can figure out what works best for me.

And, on that note, I would like to thank everyone who has shared their tutorials and tips with all of us over the past year!!! You guys are great!!! :grouphug:

And, Revrob, Shannon I KNEW I saw you on page one of the first thread when I started reading it! :thumbsup2 It's nice to know I'm not COMPLETELY crazy! :rotfl: You and Elisa have been here a long time!

I would love to see some tutorials from Laura and Heather too (shameless beg!) It's really nice to know what works for others. There's always more than one way to do things. To be able to take bits and pieces of different people's methods to develop your own is great.

I'm gonna have to go back and look at that original thread again. I remember when it first started, but I didn't remember if I had posted on it or not. I know I didn't become "addicted" until about page 500. That was probably, what, about 2 weeks? :rotfl2:

Steph, this is too cute!
What type of material did you use for the white underdress? It looks so "flowy" (is that a word? ).
Great job!

Heather: cute chipmunks! You did a really great job on them.

AZ: That cake is to die for! Both my kids were way impressed.

Elisa: cute aurora dress, like the short skirt. Megan's bangs are growing out too, she wants them cut! :confused3

Teresa: in our serger class, we had one spool smaller (and a different color) than the others. does that help?

WOW I love this outfit! As soon as my in-laws leave I need to try something more than tiered skirts. There is so much inspiration to do better on this tread. my daughter thinks its amazing too!

1) On her Disney day of the week underwear, Marie is on Tuesday. That is the whole reason why she wanted the dress and she wants to wear it on Tuesday to match.

2) Thank you! She got lots of compliments at church. It was a newish church so she got a little shy and wasn't her usual self until the Sunday School teacher asked if she could twirl in it. How did she know that was the key to unlock Megan's inner diva?

3) Nooooo, they supplied us with top of the line sergers to play on. They were so nice and they offered a discount if you bought one right there, they were only $1,199! :rotfl: My mom was thinking about it until she saw the price, and then she said no thanks!

They were super nice and quiet! We had 20 sergers going at one time and the teacher could easily talk over us. It was unreal.

Great job!

Thanks! I love the material too. It is called "linen-like" I think and I found it by the linens at JoAnns (on sale, yay!). It is heavy though, that's the one thing I don't like about it. I love the texture of it and it is flowy!

Thanks, they are really easy. I enjoy doing them because they come together quickly. And if you don't have enough fabric like I didn't you can cheat and make the strips bigger on the bottom then the top. Not as much gathering but still a twirl factor.

As far as the pink polka dot goes, this is the closest I have ever seen:

pinkminniedot.jpg

It is not the biggest dot like the real Minnie dot but it is not the small stuff either. The dot is about the size of a nickel. This material was bought in 2004 but I am almost positive that I have seen it at Hobby Lobby (where this was purchased) every year since this was bought.

I will stay on the lookout for some.

Ack, I was attempting to copy an image for you but no such luck.

Got some Simplicity patterns at Walmart last night using the Hancock (or was it JoAnn's?) ad. My very favorites are the Daisy Kingdom ones. I bought #2994 (which I'll do both views) and #2988 for a Pooh dress. The image on the pattern envelope shows the illustrated girl wearing green CROCS with a jibbitz :bitelip:

I'll keep trying to copy and post them, but I think I'm not having much luck.

Steph - love the Marie dress!!

UM - did you start on your Tink jumper yet? I cut Tink out and fused her to the bodice material. I just cut the bodice out first and laid it ontop of the pillowcase to see where to cut Tink. I appliqued Tink and then put the bodice together (lined it.) Just a rminder of my set. ;)

TINKA BELL - Please Please tell me where you got your green Mickey fabric from as its gorgeous!!

I've had a quick look around but can't find it anywhere. Do you know who makes it?

Yes! I'm so far not freaking out (yet) I'm definitely fusing it to bodice fabric since the pillowcase is sort of a, shall we say, cheaper thread count

Your's is totally cute! I love the skirt!
UM - are these the patterns? Very cute!!

YES!!!!!! The blue one is #2988 and I "see" that as having the 100 acre wood fabric and the orange one (I LOVE both views) is #2994. I can't wait to get started on those! Thanks sew much for posting those for me!

Did you use a pattern for this??? I am in LOVE with this!

Oh, I love this! I like how it ties in the back! I need this pattern!!!!1:rotfl:

Everyone, the new creations are great, there are so many, I can't quote them all! I finally finished my AK outfit, I made it too big, and had to go back and resize the bodice. Then I nicked the fabric and had to patch a hole, and you name it, and I messed up on it!:crazy2: Well, I am going to start Kenzie's today, so hopefully it will go better. It took me forever to make that dress because I kept having to rip out seams. Well, wish me better sewing on the next. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have a nice totebag pattern that a 16 year old girl would like - maybe as a caryon?
thanks, wendy
