Hey everyone! Thanks for the compliments on the cake. Ds was so excited. He loved it.

Ok I'll try to answer a few questions I remember being asked about the cake.

The top was twizzlers rolled in chocolate buttercream frosting. It turned out better than I thought. I was afraid it would look like I just stuck candy on top. :rotfl2:

Oh yes DOH! I meant Color Flow icing for the signs and Brer Rabbit. Sorry, I'm going on like 10 minutes of sleep with my in-laws here, the birthday party and this cake. (I wont admit I'm blonde and a little ditsy now. :rotfl: } Plus I think I've enhaled too much powdered sugar!!!! The color flow took forever as it was my 2nd attempt at it. I learned that I should have done the sign in solid blue then done the words on a different piece of wax and then put them on top when the letters were dry and they would not have run so much together. Well, next time I'll get it right.

Anyway thanks again.

I LOVE the boys outfits. All of the new ones are cute but the boys are adorable. I'm trying to figure out what to do for my son for our Oct trip. At this point I'm just collecting boyish Disney fabric. :thumbsup2 Sure is fun to hunt for!

Here's the Clarice and Chip shirts I made for Tessa and Sawyer. I can't remember who suggested putting Clarice on there- but thank you!!!

WOW I have no clue how you can make these applique's that are pieced together. I would never be able to cut out the fabric and make it look this GREAT. I LOVE the chip and Dale stuff and my daughter is stiiter here wanting this outfit!

I have been trying to find the pictures of the Prince Charming costumes that some have made in photobucket, but I am having NO LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know in which category they are located? TIA!

I was in Wal-Mart tonight and saw the cutest croc type shoes for boys. They look like Lightning McQueen. If your son likes Cars that is. They also had Tinkerbell and Princesses (don't know if you have a daughter).

Ooooh thanks I might go get those for him. He would LOVE them! He runs around the house yelling "I am Speed!" :rotfl:

Yes I have a 7 1/2 year old daughter. She too likes the half put in her age just like another poster said theirs did. I'll have to see if she would like them. If its not Hannah Montana now I'm not so sure......:lmao:

Yup I know how the HM thing goes. I have a 6 1/2 year old and she is crazy about HM. We went to Build a bear today and I was somehow able to prevent her from seeing the HM bear outfit. I might go back later and get it for her for her B-day.

News from a lurker:

Looks like the original thread has returned:cool1: It has been broken up into 6 threads. What will that do to the bookmarks?

OOOOOh we weren't last time! She got a bunny with HM EVERYTHING. haha but its cute. We went yesterday and she got a pink bear with ice skates and a blue fairy dress. She named her Julia! I have no clue where she pulls her names from as we do not know anyone name that, but she likes it. Normally they are all L names, Lola, Lenna, Layla I could go on. haha THank goodness for the little coupons they send in the mail.

I am really excited! I just bough some Big Minnie Dot Fabric to make Georgia her first custom for our May trip! I am going to really try to get out of the skirt craze we have around my sewing machine. hahahaha As much as I Love making skirts, I think its time to challenge myself sewing wise!

Has anyone seen Pink Dot fabric? I want to find some to make like the Minnie outfit on Mickey mouse club house. Georgia wanted the custom they have at the Disney store, but a 5T would fit her, but be WAY to short.

It says it is 6 parts but only looks like 2 parts to me- :confused3
And I posted on part "2" directing people to here :thumbsup2
   For getting the "old" thread back so we can use the book marks- Teresa you're going to work on them- I mean adding them to our blog- you know just in case right?!?!?! :scratchin

Gotta sick kid on the couch tonight- Poor baby. We're watchin noggin. I think it's going to be a long night- But I hope not

:crowded: I just had to use this one it is to funny.......:lmao:

Where did you get big minnie dot? I'm so sad because I can't find it anywhere. I guess I wasn't paying attention well enough when everyone was buying it in bulk at Halloween. For some reason, I thought our trip was far enough away that I'd be able to get some. It's in June, that's definitely not after Halloween.

Agreed!! We need a pictorial tutorial ;)

Sorry forgot to multi-quote

Yes I totally agree with this!!! :thumbsup2 A step by step guide!!!

There is a step by step tutorial for applique, that includes pics that has been posted by LisaZoe on the Disboutiquer board. You will need to be a member and log in in order to view. Membership is open to everyon, and is instant. We just ask that you log in so that we know who is viewing to avoid trolling.

Here is a link directly to the tutorial. If you don't go directly to it because you're stopped in the registration process, the tutorial is in the "General Sewing Tips" section.

This was our first trip to the actual Build a bear store. We had a Bear Factory in our mall but it shut down within the last week or two. So I had promised DD that I would get her a BAB. We ended up driving all the way to Lafayette (over an hour away). We did see on the website that they are going to be opening one in Monroe. We have family there so we will have a reason to go see them more often. :rotfl2:

Everybody keeps talking about Pink dot fabric and I can't even find the red stuff first and nobody seems to want to share.

Ugh! Still not feeling well, but dragged my butt to church so Megan got to wear her Marie outfit (she was a little upset because it wasn't Tuesday, but got over it):

I am not sure why photobucket is insisting on turning my pictures. I even loaded them onto my pc, rotated and then loaded them to photobucket and they turned them.

Heather: cute chipmunks! You did a really great job on them.

AZ: That cake is to die for! Both my kids were way impressed.

Elisa: cute aurora dress, like the short skirt. Megan's bangs are growing out too, she wants them cut! :confused3

Teresa: in our serger class, we had one spool smaller (and a different color) than the others. does that help?

I'm sure I forgot lots of other people, but my head is foggy right now. Have a great day everyone!

I am in need of pink minnie dot fabric also. I however DO have the large red minnie dot fabric. I am willing to swap with someone who has the pink. I need 2 yards and I do have 2 extra yards to give. Any takers????
