No binding or interfacing. I am using a NEW LOOK pattern #6478, it is just a straight dress. I think I may have it figured out. Should I clip the material so that it will lay down easier?
Thanks
Melinda

Melinda, that's a cute pattern. Go with all that Nana says. You will probably find the hem to be wider then you need when you go to put it up. So you might need to do a little running stitch, or a lot of pinning, to gather it up some for hemming. I'm guessing your not doing the ruffle by what you said in your last message. Let us know how your making out.

Ok this is the dress and hat that I made using the new YCMT patterns.

S2010101.jpg

S2010099.jpg

And this is a couple more of the bandanna outfits that I made. DD picked out the bandannas for these.
S2010096.jpg

S2010097.jpg

This is one of the pre-shirred dresses from Wal-Mart.
S2010102.jpg

And here are some bows that I made to match.
S2010098.jpg

I love all these. My favorite is the tie dye with the happy faces! I want to try some shirring. Kirsta wants a Lilo outfit. I think I want to try to do the leaf hula outfit and make a shirred top. But one project at a time!

Well, I finally finished something for the wife! Now she have have a little sumptin' to match the Princess!
The new She loves me, She loves me knot handbag.

My wife said it isn't very big. I told her it is "KNOT" a diaper bag!
She says it will be perfect for church, or even to put her lunch in.

I used the little magnetic closure for the bag. I just have to remember that the next time I do this, to use a plastic bobbin. As I was going over that area very slowly, the bobbin lifted it self out of its case and got all tangled up.

No, those aren't threads showing. Leighanna got a little artsy on her walls with a pencil!:sad2:

We have some of that creativity around our house also! I love this pattern, I keep looking at it and wondering if I'd really use when I was done. I could change the straps and use it for vacation? Now that's an idea!

Super cute outfits. I really like the fabric. But I have been doing the same lurking more than sewing lately. Have to get my but in gear!
Lori

I know how that goes. That's why DD only got a set of bows for St. Patrick's Day.

haha yeah. That is why I am glad the fabric is just green with dots and such, not four leaf clovers. She can and WILL wear this more then once. hahahahaha Everything is being washed as we speak..or type rather. hehe

awww too cute.

Thanks for the doggy photo! Lily saw Georgia's puppy, now she sees Scrappy. She looks at him and says "oh, he love me! he want come to me!" This girl wants a doggy so badly! I want to get a puppy this summer but I'm not sure about potty training Lily and a dog at the same time :scared1:  Also, I still need to talk DH into it a bit. He LOVES dogs, but just doesn't seem to want a 5th child :confused3

hahahahaha you know what is funny my dog's name is Shaggy! Scrappy and Shaggy. I had a little chuckle.

We actually had the same though, well not about potty training both at the same time, but I didn't want to potty train a dog. HA! We got her from the animal shelter. She is 7 years old. We got her when she was 5.5yrs. She is such a sweet girl. We got luck, she is not your typical "Chew-lala" as Georgia used to call her. hahaha She is as crazy and strange as the rest of our family.

You wanna talk paciholic?!?!
th_IMG_2126.jpg

And if I remember correctly, he had another one in the basket of the walker!! He's only allowed to have them now if he's sleeping (or sick!)

Now that is very funny!!!

Lydia is my only one who ever took a pacifier. It was actually pretty fun for me, because after all that time, I got to shop for something I'd never shopped for before! As a result, she had a LOT of different pacifiers! When she was 4 months old though, we drove down to Florida, and after we got back, she stopped using them.

Okay, finally got my models to cooperate somewhat!:goodvibes Here are some things I have been working on:
Tinkerbelle outfit, Kenzie will have the same
th_HPIM1398-1.jpg

And here is Kenzie in her minnie dot, and Caity will have the same. I just noticed in this pic, the shirt must not have been tied tightly around her neck, it looks a little, um, revealing!:rolleyes1
th_HPIM1400-1.jpg

I made myself a shirt today, too. I will post a pic later of it.

Could your daughter look ANY MORE like you??!!! They are so cute!!! I love the outfits!! That Tink fabric is great, and I love your daughters poses! The Minnie dot was is so cute too, that is a litle different than we usually see with the dots! :thumbsup2

I feel the same way. it is so hard these days to let your kdis play anywhere unsupervised. TOo many crazies around and they just might be your next door neighbor! I remember riding my bike to school for 1st grade. heck no not today you can't do that!
Lori
I know what you mean. My girls don't understand why I don't like them to play in the front yard. Crazy people abound! When I was little, we use to roam the neighborhood all day. Not that there weren't crazy people even then though, I remember one of my friends and I were stopped by a nut while we were riding our horses. He was pretty sick. I think it's better that parents are more cautious nowadays.

Tom I love the purse!!! That is so pretty!
Well, I didn't take pictures as I was doing it because I wasn't entirely sure it would work. Fortunately, I have an identical red sweater. Hey wait, were you making fun of me? :snooty:
I would NEVER make fun of you Steph!

I love those outfits!!! And the girls are really in model mode!!! They look so adorable!!!

I'm thinking that those pants are a great idea for some of Lydia's jeans that are too short and too worn. I really like those!

Hi Everyone!! Such cute outfits everywhere!!! Love them!!! I have some questions,,,,,

Where did you get the tie dyed bandanas with the smiley faces? I HAVE to have them?

Also, did someone mention they found eeyoure seersucker fabric??? I cant find it at Joann's or Walmart - do you remember where you got it???

Oh - and did you all see the new Croc like shoes at walmart that are Tinkerbelle, Lightning McQueen and Princess? They are sooooo cute - also had Spongebob and Spiderman!!!

THanks so much!!!

Wendy

The bandannas came from Hobby Lobby. Our HL has about a gazillion different ones. DD has the Tinkerbell croc like shoes. They are too cute on her.

Oh she looks so darling in that dress and hat. That basket is adorable! You did a great job.

OK so here is what I did while the green fabric was in the wash. I got this fabric for .81 cents! I still have a bit left it was nearly a yd. It has little tiny flowers and cherries on it. These pants were WAY to short but fit her perfect every where else. But they dang pockets bug me. If she didnt like pockets so much I would just sew them shut! hahaha

Had a multiquote going but it got way too huge, just wanted to say all the new outfits are really lovely :)

Wow! That is really cool! I'm always afraid that if I cut a sweater, the whole thing will unravel. Did you have to do anything special so that didn't happen? I have tons of shirts that are too short for me. I'm not so much long waisted, as well, there are other things that make my shirts too short in front. :rotfl: Cool idea and Megan looks so pretty! Oh, I also wanted to mention that I like how it's long on her. Tessa's shirts are always riding up and her pants are always riding down. NOT a good look!

I love the matching outfits! If you get yer hair done up all perty, make sure you post a picture of you two wearing them together!

I have tons of doll patterns & tons of Build a Bear animals & 2 girls who want new clothes for their animals. I even have a Disney princess doll pattern. If I can get all the stuff done for birthday parties in the next month or two, my girls my be getting some new outfits for the animals finally. Well, part of the birthday sewing is matching outfits for the animals, but I'm making those patterns up as I go along.
I've made a couple of matching outfits for Tessa and her Build-A-Bears. She's more into stuffed animals than dolls. So, she loves it when I sew for her bears.

I haven't figured out yet what Sawyer's really "into". Although, he gets awfully excited when he sees Barbie or Hannah Montana on tv. :confused3

How CUUUTE! I love them all, but I had too many pictures in my post!

How cute are they in their matchign outfits!? I love the picture of them with their dad.

Adorable a-line dress! I really love the fabric that Syndi picked out! I got a little teary looking at the picture of your girls. Poor Tessa will never have a sister. :sad2: Unless I can talk Henry into adopting, that is....

Cute! Love the a-line shirt and pants. I would probably sew a lot more if I had a girl. you guys make me want to have just one more. . .
When are you going to Disney in May?

My JoAnns has been so unhelpful lately. I asked about ordering flannel in turquoise... the woman cut me off and told me that if I didn't have the EXACT UPC they couldn't do anything. Boy how things have changed - when I worked there 15 years ago (well, it was Cloth World then) we had a big book of fabrics; you looked up the type of fabric, then the color and ordered from there.
This sounds like our JoAnn. I actually had a friendly employee cut the fabric for me the other day. I told Teresa about it, as it is SO rare! She knew exactly which one it was because it's the only friendly person she has seen in there, too!

Georgia looks adorable!! Crystal was so sweet to send that to her!! It's funny that it was her that sent it because I'm always mixing the two of you up!

Oh my goodness, that is SOOO funny!!! Tessa and Sawyer had/have that same walker/rider toy! I have such fond memories of Tessa sitting on it and bopping up and down to the music when she was a baby.

These turned out great! Can't wait to see you shirt, too!

Now that is just TOO cute!!! It looks like you all had fun! Josephine looks so young in her little dress! How sweet!

I LOVE it!! I keep thinking I want to make myself a purse one of these days.

In case anyone doesn't know, this is a free pattern until March 21 on YCMT!

Heather that dress is absolutely gorgeous - I thought I read somewhere you have only been sewing a year (or not quite) wowsers that is absolutely professional looking
Thank you so much!!! I've been sewing for almost 8 months. So, it really means a lot that you say that!

But I'm not sure if chenielle screams "There are Pampers in this mom-purse!"
:rotfl2:

How sweet! I have a special place in my heart for flamingos, so I love these!

I'm thinking that those pants are a great idea for some of Lydia's jeans that are too short and too worn. I really like those!
Lydia could SO rock a pair of those pants! Tell her I said so!

I loved it before, but I love it even more on!!!

You're working so much and still find time to sew!? :worship: This came out really cute!

Thanks for your help everyone. I have one dress finished, and am starting dress #2. I have two DDs. I'll post pictures when I get them both finished.
Thanks again!
Melinda

And Nicholas loved it so much he fell asleep clutching the egg. and he never let go even when we got home!
th_IMG_3775.jpg

We had an Easter egg hunt yesterday at our house for some of the girls' friends. dd1 was so excited. She kept yelling 'Find it, egg!' 'Get it, egg! It was adorable. She didn't want to let go of the eggs either. We ended up having to trick her into letting me have the basket & then she got mad & started yelling that they were her eggs. :rotfl:

Very cute--I love the fabric!

My Joanns has the worst employees!!!! But one day, sugarbees and I were in there buying tons of tutti frutti for our boutique outfits and the woman cutting our fabric KNEW WHAT SHE WAS DOING!!!   I was asking for the same amount of fabric on several different prints. On one, I told her how much and she sorta raised her eyebrow and said "are you sure?" Then it hit me--vertical print--I needed more! She knew what she was doing and subtly reminded me that I might be making a mistake. We about fainted--knowledgable and not snotty???? How rare is that???? Especially at Joanns. Since then whenever I go back and see her, she asks how our boutique stuff is coming along and how she saw sugarbees in there the other day--bizarre, no?

GRRR! Forget everything I ever said about the newsboy hat! I just made another one for Lily, same pattern pieces, same everything or so I thought---but it fits me :scared1: Fortunately it also nearly fits Jayden and looks much cuter on her--now I'll have to go buy more fabric and make her a matching skirt.
