DISboarding while working...

Hilarious:lmao: , We, who are parents, know that the only time we have for ourselves is during work. If we didn't have a job with a computer, there would not be half as many posts ;). But seriously, this helps with eye-hand coordination (the use of the mouse), and our typing skills (posting), and during those LONG afternoons, when you feel like you are going to fall asleep (you know, right after lunch), this keeps all of us alert. Our bosses should be thanking us :worship:
So....I have to do my part. Of course I'm at work :thumbsup2

About 10 or 20 years ago when we first got our own PCs at work (before that, 20 people shared one! Could you imagine?!?!) we all played Solitaire and told our boss that we were practicing our mousing and typing skills.

So that's my answer and I'm sticking to it!

:teacher: Since I'm a teacher it would be pretty scary :scared1: if I got on the computer during work. ...turn your back on a first grade class and there's no telling what could happen. pirate: Plus my school does not permit access to certain websites, and does not allow any of us to use the computer for personal use.

Guilty, except that I view it as a perk of being efficient. Besides if I'm constantly ahead of my coworkers it would make then look bad, and I wouldn't want to do that.

I love your reasoning!!!

As the boss, I am one of the ones setting the "no internet during work" rules and then I go and break them! Discretely, of course. But I look at it this way, I don't usually take a lunch break. I bring in my lunch and work through it. So if I pop into Dis to surf for 15 mins here and there, its just stretching my lunch out during the day!

I also log in during conference calls that don't require active participation. ;)

count me in too. I have to check the boards at least once a day to make sure I am not missing anything :)

Every morning after at work when I get my morning work done, I check my emails and go on disboards. It is part of my morning routine. My boss knows I am on there and has no problem probably because we are a small office of
3.

oh thats definently me! i work 12 hr overnight shift so im on pretty much everynight...i really look like this guy:surfweb: right now...hehe

Guilty as charged.....and loving it :goodvibes but thank goodness boss isn't tech savvy enough to go beyond clearing history and cookies :thumbsup2

I can't, I work for the state and would lose my job for getting on the dis :scared:

To an extent. I write a blog for our newspaper's Web site so I can always say I'm checking out a "rumor" that I want to write about.
But I'm in outside sales so I don't get much time while at work.

same here. i work 12 hour nights in an ER. only get online when not busy..... we have down time , then we have times when don't even get a potty break. :rotfl: so that's how i justify my internet time!!

Days that I work 16 hours, I will take 15 or 20 min to relax and heck the boards, I figued it is a wash.

I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one. I use to feel guilty about the amount of time I spent on here during work hrs. Suddenly, I feel like I'm doing nothing wrong.
