Hilarious , We, who are parents, know that the only time we have for ourselves is during work. If we didn't have a job with a computer, there would not be half as many posts . But seriously, this helps with eye-hand coordination (the use of the mouse), and our typing skills (posting), and during those LONG afternoons, when you feel like you are going to fall asleep (you know, right after lunch), this keeps all of us alert. Our bosses should be thanking us

I hope we all know that some companies monitor Web surfing.

Our company has a surfing threshold - and if you reach it, you get the closed door meeting so you can explain why you were on DIS all day.

Guilty here too! I am still on my luch hour though. I take it here and there as I always get interrupted!! We have most of our goals done for this year and missed a big storm today-no claims! So you know.....and like said before it is Friday! Plus it is someone's birthday in the office!

Guilty, except that I view it as a perk of being efficient. Besides if I'm constantly ahead of my coworkers it would make then look bad, and I wouldn't want to do that

Also, I work in IS so I know exactly what our tech guys monitor as far as web traffic goes Right now we only worry about people who hog bandwidth (from radio, video online etc.) so I'm safe for now.

I'm at work, too, but I only get on the boards at lunch and at the end of the day. Sometimes I stay after for up to an hour, depending on my kids' schedules, to surf the boards.

I don't have internet at home anymore, so it is this or the public library on Saturday.

The techies where I work can, if they wish, monitor our screens at all times. Sometimes someone across town is using my computer to install stuff, etc. Kind of odd watching the cursor do it's own little thing.

I pretty much play by the rules, so I don't think it's an issue. Now, buying my air tickets online might be called into question, as shopping is a no-no, but I just didn't want to use my credit card on a public computer.

Still, knowing that every move you make is logged, monitored, and reported does remove the mirror-over-the-shoulder option!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I try to use the discrete color setting, but it never works. I actually have put my computer on my desk instead of on my computer credenza so no one can see my screen. I have the work hard and then play hard mentality... instead of pacing my self, I blow through a bunch of stuff and then Dis.

Seems like you have a little too much time at work.

I ALWAYS Dis at work...but I also always have work open, just in case I need to minimize when the boss approaches.

Yes, I'm guilty too. How else am I supposed to stay awake? I have a boring job. I just sit there waiting for people to come in & make payments all day.
