Here's something we rarely talk about, so I figured why not make a thread about it? While we all love WDW, I'm sure we've all experienced 1 or 2 not-so-great moments during our travels there.
What restaurants, hotels or attractions at WDW did/do you not want to go back to due to being disappointed?
I've had very few disappointing experiences at WDW over the years, but I will point out the 2 things that definitely come to mind--both of which were experienced in October:
-Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe: I used to really like this place because they used to have some pretty tasty burgers in the early 90's. This was not the case in October. We switched lines 3 times in order to get to a cashier to take our order. The entire process of waiting to have our order taken took about 15 minutes, even at 2pm. The people in the kitchen all looked mad and confused (not a good combo). My burger was handed to me smashed and severely overcooked and dry. There were several condiments at the do-it-yourself bar that needed refilling, like onions, pickles and ketchup. When one woman asked a CM if she would refill the ketchup she looked furious that the question had even been asked. To even get to the condiment bar took another 5-7 minutes of waiting in line, and several guests were cutting in line. Not pleasant. Some people don't seem to understand the concept of moving once you're done getting your condiments despite having a line of 20 people behind them. Instead they stand in front of the mayo/ketchup/and mustard dispensers and take calls on their cell phones. I was furious because I was starving, tired and cranky.
After sitting down we noticed they had forgotten to give us one of the items we ordered, but we weren't about to go back inside to get it.
-The Fish and Chips cart in the U.K. at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival: My friend ordered the fish & chips from here and when he started eating it, it only took him about a minute to say, "This is horrible." At first I thought he was just exaggerating. Plus he's been spoiled by living close to A Salt & Battery in Greenwich Village, which has the best fish & chips I've ever eaten. I took a taste......and he was right.
It tasted like the fish had been frozen for a long time, and the batter was the dominant bland flavor. (Think Long John Silver's on one of their bad days......only twice as bad.) The fries tasted like they had suffered from freezer burn and were really dry.
Okay, I'm done. The rest of WDW is simply faaaaabulous.
