On Oct 14 2008 I sent this via the website

"Inquiring as to what restaurants in the park,Disney hotels or in DD serve Christmas dinner. Also if there is a menu available on line that would be appreciated."

Just received this response,

Dear xxxx,

Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND® Resort.

Priority Seating arrangements for many table service restaurants at the DISNEYLAND® Resort may be made up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463), available daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm (PST).

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. We hope you will have the opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and trust your visit will be pleasant in all regards.

Sincerely,

Linda Trump

I was looking to see if they put on special buffets for christmas. I believe i saw a menu from 2007 from Storytellers and wanted options.I had to wait an entire week to get a form type response. I guess now i know not to waist my time with this process. It also states when i am visiting the park and i get this "We hope you will have the opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and trust your visit will be pleasant in all regards.
"

Very frustrating.

Well if there is a restaurant in a particular hotel, you may be able to call the hotel and ask what the restaurant is gonna serve during a particular time. Same with some of the restaurants in DTD. Disney Dining wont have numbers to some of those restaurants as they are not affiliated with Disney Dining.

Did you try call Disney Dining? I think maybe calling them directly you might get better help. It seems like the emails are just responded by a general set of CMs and not directed to the correct departments they need to be (dining, hotels, whatever), unless of course it's complaints I'm sure..

That's just my opinion. But maybe try them. If they have menus available I'm sure they can email them to you. I know vacation planning has emailed my Mom with lists of available baskets and such...

I had to wait till my 60 days before i can may my PS so i thought i could get info ahead of time. I was checking for Storytellers or other disney restaurants because i saw an old menu for a holiday buffet for 2006 xmas. i wanted to see if they still offer those special type menus.

you can hit reply and state that your original question wasn't answered (and then restate your question). i did this a couple months ago and i got a 2nd email with my question answered. coincidentally, linda trump was the CM on my 1st email, too. good luck!

I just got the same kind of generic respone on the photopass website. I wanted to make Christmas ornaments by uploading my pics from my CD in June. Obviously the time had run out on using them, but since I bought the CD I just wanted to know if it was okay to do that, and how I could let them know that I owned the CD, and rights to do that for personal use.

So all I got was a general response on yes I could upload my personal pictures, and nothing about the CD or how they'd know I'd bought it previously. So I haven't done it. Wish they'd actually read the questions, I could have gotten that info on the website.

I had the same problem when asking about Photopass. I wanted to know about costs of postage to Australia and other general questions that had NOT been answered for me on the website, however they just sent me a generic email giving me a repeat of the info on the website. I have a feeling that they didn't even pay much attention to what I actually asked, but saw that it was a question about Photopass and clicked on that reply email. What a waste of my time!

We are going to be there over Christmas and were wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if they do anything special in any of the restaurants for Christmas?

I'm guessing the email team has 15-30 "canned" or prepared email responses and are encouraged to use them. I also bet they have an option to provide a custom response to though, crazy kids.

I wonder if a real person even saw it. Maybe the computer picked up the word "dinner" and chose the best response. With so many people emailing maybe they do this first then answer with a real person if contacted again. :confused3

When I was planning my Christmas dining arrangements last year I called Disney Dining directly. Not only did I get great advice, the CM I talked to was able to e-mail me the buffet menu from Storytellers. I would definitely use the telephone rather than e-mail for this important decision. 714-781-DINE!

This is what I meant for you to do, OP. You can just call Disney Dining and ask even though you can't make your PS's yet.

Thank you so much for providing me with the information that the CM who took my Christmas Eve reservation for Storyteller's this morning could not tell me! I specifically asked if there would be a special menu that night and she said that they had not been given any info yet, but hoped to have it later in the weekend. Since today was the first day to make Christmas Eve reservations it seems a little late, but I appreciate that you know what you are talking about!!!

I went to DLR for Thanksgiving 2 years ago and the reservations fill up fast. The Disney DIne number people are very helpful. They know the menus somewhat and definitely can tell you which ones are crowded and such. I would recommend calling the number they were very helpful for me.

I've sent the OP a PM, but in case anyone else was wondering.

UPDATE:

I made the calls this morning and made Christmas day :santa: reservations.

Carnation Cafe for Breakfast
Goofy's Kitchen for Dinner

Oh and I asked again if there was a special dinner on christmas and she (CM) still stated nothing special for dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

Thanks again Glendalais :thumbsup2 for the info.:dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Goofy's Kitchen is a more diverse buffet than the other places anyway (because all they do is buffet, whereas the other places are not non-stop buffet all day long), but it looks like they really go all out on Christmas! Plus, they will probably have special holiday pins that they give out as souvenirs and the characters will be dressed in holiday splendor. It will be nice! I would bet a LOT of people go to GK on Christmas, just for the variety of food options alone.
