Yes we have! We took it from Yokohama to Vancouver about five years ago and absolutely loved it. When we were on it, the ship was beautifully maintained and didn’t show its age at all. And I believe since then it’s been refurbed to make it more like the Edge Class, so I would bet it looks good now too.Have you sailed on Celebrity Millennium?
Thank you. I'm considering that ship in Japan next year. Reviews are a mixed bag, but that's the case for most ships.Yes we have! We’ve also sailed on the Constellation and felt the same way.
If you are getting snacks out on the dock, the shrimp skewers and hummus are amazing as well!Currently on Virgin. After this and the Dream in July- I might break up with Disney. I have the Disney dream booked in July and to be honest going from this experience to Disney food is a bit depressing for me right now. I just had feta polenta and steak skewers as a snack. I was also never one who was bothered by kids, but I have to admit not having kids on board has been simply amazing. My daughter turns 18 in July I might take her on the next virgin cruise with me. She’ll get a kick out of the drag show.
Yes! Sitting on the dock right now in split. They have a special.Opa Hour for the Greek sailing and they have a special Greek menu too. We haven’t seen duel reality yet. But we love the Lola show I can’t believe that was almost 3 hoursIf you are getting snacks out on the dock, the shrimp skewers and hummus are amazing as well!
Also, did you go to either Miss Behave or Duel Reality?
I’m on virgin right now and I wouldn’t say it’s a party - booze cruise vibe at all. It’s just adults enjoying themselves. They actually have some of the best spaces to simply relax and chill. The more I think about I’ve actually seen more drunk adults in the Cove area on Disney ships versus here.Just to ask…
Have you been on Virgin Voyages? I’ve been on 4 times now and I haven’t gotten that vibe on any of those cruises. The feeling that I get is that it is a very upscale, contemporary experience. I’ve been on more of a “party” atmosphere on Royal Caribbean.
Virgin have been some of the most relaxing cruises I’ve ever taken.
Great! We had actually planned to do the Greek and Adriatic cruises ourselves, but airfare was a killer this Summer, so we've put that off for the time being (we went back in 2022, though). Instead, we have 2 cruises on Valiant Lady this Summer. We'll be in Key West and Bimini in July before our SSR Grand Villa stay!Yes! Sitting on the dock right now in split. I think now my wife and I will consider Virgin as well! Re DCL, one thing I’ve learned from many of the posts is that things several years ago used to be better, even on the Dream, that originally the food was regarded by many cruisers as superior than it is now, that an alternative meal was at one point offered in Cabanas, etc. So, it seems, as many cruise lines have been “upping their game” with innovative ships, more dining and family options, and unique entertainment, in some ways DCL has been diminishing theirs.Currently on Virgin. We booked the Panama Canal cruise for 2026...I'm sure we'll sneak in a few more between now and then.Great! I do think "the executives/top people saying yes were on cocaine" is the answer to/reason behind many projects in the entertainment industry in the 1970s and 1980s. I'm glad you made a distinction between the cast and the story. Actors can only work and do so much with the material they're given.Oh, and BTW: our family also suffered through cats on the oasis. I felt bad because the cast was great and the production was great but the story was just cringe. I seriously wanna know was everyone on cocaine in the 80s when this was a huge Broadway hit.?? After 20 minutes we left it was that bad
Maybe, but in the same vein, after my experience, I can’t imagine making kids of high school age or older suffer through a Disney cruise. That said, Celebrity is no doubt better for adults, even Disney adults such as my wife and I. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and of course there’s no right or wrong, but we found the adult district dark and claustrophobic on the Dream.Virgin is not for us - we prefer the family friendly environment. Virgin's reputation with some of the entertainment offerings is something we would be nervous about investing so much money in, and perhaps feeling uncomfortable.
Now the adult districts and spots on DCL, we love those, simple, elegant, great staff who are always happy to chat or leave you alone. We would consider celebrity if doing an adults only cruise, but can't really imagine making kids younger than high school age suffer through a Celebrity cruise...
Ummm, your statement is a little far fetched. My 19 yr old after sailing on RCL and NCL while she was in high school asked to go back to DCL again. She loves their cruises and it is her preference. She has met many other young people on these cruises from other states and countries that she has maintained friendships with. Believe me, teens and older young people hardly "suffer" on a DCL cruise. Not all kids may feel this way, but I know that many do enjoy DCL.Maybe, but in the same vein, after my experience, I can’t imagine making kids of high school age or older suffer through a Disney cruise. I agree just took my 23 and 26 year old on a family Disney cruise last Dec. It’s there preference too.Ummm, your statement is a little far fetched. You’re right, of course. Am sure plenty of teens still love DCL!Ummm, your statement is a little far fetched. True. But saying that kids “suffer” on a Celebrity cruise as a PP wrote is just as far fetched. DD11 has been on NCL and DCL and we are doing a newer Celebrity ship this summer. She actually voted to cancel the DCL we originally booked and try Celebrity. She wanted a smaller, less chaotic kids club and she wanted to see the newer Cirque de Soleil type shows instead of all Disney stuff since she is very into dance. She wanted to try a kids club with fewer kids and more counselor interaction among kids and a more chill vibe compared to all the screaming and little kids on Disney (her words). She is a kid who is happy with just reading a book and having a virgin pina colada by the pool and getting ice cream. She is excited to do Treasure next year thoughUmmm, your statement is a little far fetched. My 19 yr old after sailing on RCL and NCL while she was in high school asked to go back to DCL again.
