Disappointed

GR hands out no strings fast passes like candy...it should not have been an issue to write them up one for later on. Wouldn't have cost them a thing and it would have smoothed things over. It's not like they went in demanding another park ticket because Soarin' catching on fire ruined their whole day.

And it is INSANE that you people are tearing her a new one because "you" wouldn't do something like that. I'm there ALL the time and I will still go to GR if there is a ride issue, they normally don't expect you to just "suck it up and deal". Yea things happen and that is 1 small way they have to ease the sting even if something was beyond their control.

They waited an hour in line with the expectation of riding Soarin', would they have stood around for an hour picking their noses if Soarin' was down? Most likely not they would have gone to another ride, well they just blew that time in line sooo....

Now there are plenty of people that say giving a FP for a ride break down is different. Other than needing people out of the building NOW it isn't. They can no more help a ride breakdown than control an emergency. Difference should have been GR ready with no strings for anybody that came up to talk to them about the issue.

lol yes... the OP asked for a fast pass (didn't DEMAND one) and now Disney is RUINED

We know nothing about what she said but I do not even care.
What I do not understand however, why to post about something so tiny at 7AM while still on vacation. This is not even worth thinking twice about, not even to mention in a trip report so why not to move on and forget about it lets say in 20 min. :confused3

We were at Epcot March 1 and after waiting in line one hour for soarin we were escorted out the back door with no explaination. It appeared they closwed down the whole building. We stopped at guest relations to see about getting fast pass for something else and they were not at all helpful I think Disney should have handled the situation for their guest with a little more epthy.

Safety first.

I'm sorry, did I miss something, or does the OP not have the right to express something that may have disappointed her without all of the self-righteous, matter-of-factual comments? :confused3

Yes, safety comes first but I can also empathize with how the OP may have felt after waiting in line. Fact is, Disney is known for giving away things to create those special moments or to make a bad situation better.
I've done it a few times in my CM days. It may not happen all of the time, but it does.

Its her vacation, and if she feels as though she wants to take 7 minutes out of her day to post where the the biggest fans of Disney come to discuss everything Disney (good AND bad) then so be it. :goodvibes

Ok, carry on...

Guys.... I have a confession to make. Epcot has a 'epcot' shirt I wanted so bad, they didn't have my size. No explanation. Just no medium. I went to guest relations and they did not even offer a FP!!!!!! I'm so disappointed, I went just for that shirt!!!!!! I'm writing my letter to Disney now......

Knock yourself out. I know you are being sarcastic bt really whats the big deal? A fast pass is just a little piece of paper that gets you on the ride. I dont know why people think this is such a huge deal. A big enough deal that ( what i presume to be) fully grown adults feel the OP deserves to be belittled and made fun of.

Why does anyone feel the need to treat someone like that and over a post that those people think is so insignificant but its apparently significant enough to try to make a fool of the OP. Why? Why treat people like that?

Its one thing to disagree but to make fun of, belittle and patronize the OP is not nessecary

And i know people are just going to make excuses or tell me i should drop it but someone should stand up and defend someone who did nothing wrong but make an innocent post on an internet forum. No need to be rude and condescending. I dont get it. Doesmit make you feel better about yourself to treat people that way

The OP deserves a lot if she feels she is ENTITLED to anything. If Guest Relations gives her one, good for her, if not, then don't complain about it. Be thankful you're at Disney and realize life goes on. Everytime I read the OP's first post, all I think of is a spoiled brat wanting to get "her way"...........life doesn't work like that.

No the OP doesn't deserve to be belittled just because you don't like that they asked for a fast pass. There is no need to treat people like that. There just isnt' and over something so minor.

People don't deserve that treatment and adults shouldn't go around slinging insults at every turn just because we dont' like that someone was disappointed. "I don't like you so I'm going to be totally disrespectful and call you names" that's what children in the school yard do and then we wonder why we have such a problem with bullies and parents who don't see the problem.

There is no justification for treating people the way the OP has been treated and especially not over something so insignificant. The OP doesn't DESERVE that treatment. No one DESERVES to be made a fool of ... not even you :)

Nothing has been over the top here.....The OP asked for something, didn't get it, and is now whining to an online forum. Sit the OP in a corner for 15 minutes.

I could see why they would be upset. I mean after paying thousands for a trip every second DOES count. You already are spending more time in line than the rides that last what... 5 minutes long? (Some more than others) So most of the money you put in is going towards waiting. And to wait an HOUR and discover you couldn't even get on the ride.... I can definitely see why someone would be disappointed.

it doesn't have to be over the top to be unnessecary.

I just don't get why you think it's ok to treat people like that whether it's just a little or a lot. I doubt you were raised to be disrespectful :confused3

I mean when you are walking down the street and you hear someone is disappointed with something you don't just start pushing them around ... do you? LOL

So let me get this straight. You went to Epcot and got in the medium Epcot t-shirt line for the express purpose of getting the medium t-shirt whereupon entering the standby line you were advised that after waiting 60 minutes you would receive your medium t-shirt. And after waiting 60 minutes you were not given your t-shirt but were escorted out of the t-shirt line with no explanation or raincheck? I agree you should write that letter.:thumbsup2

Has the OP even been back on this thread since posting the original post?? I cannot believe some of the things being said!!!
Some are acting like he/she came on here threatening to sue Disney or something!! Gosh, they were just expressing their disappointment.

I would have done the same thing. and hooray to The one who said you pay thousands of dollars for a Disney vacation and then to have an hour wasted w/o any explanation would be really disappointing. And to the one who said they would forget about it in a few minutes...I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT!!! You don't know their situation! What if their kids were so incredibly disappointed?? I don't know about you but I know my 6 yr old would prob start to cry if something like that happens to us on our trip...and if I does I certainly will NOT be posting it on here b/c I can clearly see you get no sympathy from some people!

No, I think 99% of people on the board would give the complainer a disgusted look, and then walk away, and then, you'd talk about that person and how childish they acted. But, if you decide to complain publically (on a forum of all places), I have no problem telling whoever it is that they're acting like a child.

The sarcasm in this post should result in an infraction, because it is abusive. All the OP wanted was a little empathy. An hour at Disney is valuable, and she was disappointed that she lost one waiting in line.

I am sad that this kind of meanness exists on our board.

WHY? My situation was NO different than the OPs. I went for a shirt, they didn't have it, cost precious time out of my day, I asked for a fastpass to help me make up for my lost time, they said no? Thats no different, in fact, maybe I should go make a thread complaining about it......in other words, get over it.

They should have given you a fastpass to come back and ride it again. I am glad that everybody was removed from the building safely.

rationalize it however you need to. The bottom line is you are needlessly being disrespectful and there is no excuse for that. If it makes you feel good to belittle people well then that's a whole other issue. We aren't going to agree. You are going to continue going on thinking that it's ok to treat people disrespectfully and I'm going to keep going on trying to treat others the way I would like them to treat me. Everyone deserves at least common decency
