Not all its cracked up to be. Won't be staying there again methinks.

Good points :-

Close to Disney
Security on gates

Bad points :-

Communal pool is tiny (looks huge on the photos)
Clubhouse is poor
Clubhouse opens and closes when the staff feel like (probably because its off season)
You got to take your own trash to the skip!

Shame that you weren't happy with it.

I too am sorry you were disappointed in Emerald Island. We own a home on the community.

The Homeowners Associations have just recently been handed over to the owners and I know that our Association Board are working hard to improve things after the builder relinquished control of the community. Things will improve and are improving as we speak.

I do know that there is a new concierge company starting to look after the clubhouse from tomorrow (Oct 30th) and we all believe that they will be a great asset to the community. You obviously caught the community in the transition between the old company and the new one.

The community does have two pools, one attached to the clubhouse and one in the townhome area near the tennis center.

Trash collection is also being looked at and ways are being considered to improve things in that department too. The homes have twice weekly kerbside garbage collection, however I am not too familiar with how townhomes' trash is handled.

The HOA have been working with a supplier to bring high speed internet access to the community and that is now available. Not all homes have that as it is up to the individual homeowners if they wish to provide that service, but I personally believe that in a community and home of the standard that we provide, high speed internet is an important amenity for guests.

I hope you reconsider trying Emerald Island again.

In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for improvements to Emerald Island, please feel free to send me a private message and I will make sure that they get passed on to the HOA board for consideration.

We are all (the HOA board and active homeowners) working on ideas for the community now the builders have completed building. We are considering uses for the old sales offices, improvements to the other areas of the clubhouse. In fact anything that can be an asset to the community.

Yes. It seems that way. Pity. The staff at the clubhouse certaily had a not bothered attitude.

The current siting of the trash skip is strange. Whenever we dropped stuff off there it was always overflowing with garbage and generally stinking. I'd have hated to stay in the homes nearby because they were quite close.
