Disappointed - please help!

I think that asking your sister to bring a 2 month old to Disney might put a lot of pressure on her. I would do it but that's after I have had 4 kid. There is no way I would have with my first child. I was soooo overwhelmed. Going to the grocery store was an ordeal. I would also be concerned about the baby getting sick. At least two of my kids get sick on every single trip to Disney. No matter what you all decide, your sister should purchase travel insurance so that she doesn't feel like she can't cancel out. I would absolutely ask her what she thinks would be a better trip. Hoop de Doo and the castle aren't going any place. There is still a ton to do that is magical in Disney if she thinks November is better. Have a great trip.

Have your sister talk with the peditrician. She should have one or thinking about one by now. Ask about what immunizations the child should have before going on a plane. Airplanes have the most amount of germs and so do many hotel rooms. Now I know Disney is held to a higher standard, but germs are germs and the Rotovirus can easily kill-yes-kill an older infant. Besides the germ factor, have your sister consider using some time to sleep in, relax, take the baby for a walk in Downtown Disney. Maybe the family can watch the baby for a few hours while she spends time at a spa or even better catch up on some sleep. :woohoo: That would most likely convince me to go.

If not keep calling for the different reservations, also there are a lot of last minute cancellations. I know it is a risk, but people make plans in advance and have to cancel. You might get lucky.

My question is...when in April? During school vacation week? Not in a million years with an infant....(obviously, my opinion). The parks are so so so crowded, so all of the "quiet, private spots" for mom to have downtime will be non-existant....they'll be packed with all of the other moms looking for a quiet spot for their newborns.

However, if you are thinking early April, then I think going with an infant will be fine.

My first choice would be to go when still pg. I did Disney during one of pregnancies and it was great. Sure, I couldn't do the thrill rides (and I LIVE for thrill rides, so I was really hesitant at first...thought it would be a less-than-magical trip), but that actually made it one of the best trips! I did and saw many things that I would have totally blown off otherwise.

Also--keep trying for November--those ADRs WILL open up.

Go in April when the baby is 2 months. better than going when you SIL is pregnant & might not be able to make the trip. Enjoy! The baby will be a lot easier to take as a baby! We took our baby at 6 months & a friend took her daughter at 3 months.

I agree, unless it is spring break. Your SIL needs to consider possible bedrest or travel restrictions. Lots of first time moms end up with Preeclampsia or other problems, especially in the last couple of months. If you decide to travel while pregnant, I'd recommend travel insurance that will pay for you all to cancel if she can't go.

If choosing April make sure your avoid Easter week (if it's in April that year) as it is a HUGE peak week crowd wise.

We have gone several times the last week of April..the 22nd on...and the crowds were awesome as was the weather (I'm a huge heat weanie so temp is very important!).

I hope everything works out for you and your family.

How about dinner at 1900 Park Faire? Cinderella is there and there is actually much more interaction.

Ive been while pregnant. Its not that fun. You really cant go on everything that the rest of your group may want to go on. With a 2 mnth old you can do parent swap. Also with 8 other people there and a new little face that everyone will be excited to see Im sure there will be lots and LOTS of help. We are going again in Feb when my guy ( if he ever decided to be born) will be 6 months old. We are bringing the Baby Bjorn, the stroller and there will be more than just me and DH my sister, BIL and 15 year old nephew and my mum to help.

Just for reassurance, my son has been on planes several times without any immunizations and never got sick. Just wash your hands with a baby that young (or the baby's hands if older and touching things) and you should be good to go, especially if breastfeeding (offers immunological benefits).
