I just got back last night from WDW. I rented from National at the Car Care Center (as I have done for the past several years). WOW! Was this car a piece of doo-doo! It was a Chevy Cavilier. There was lots and lots of damage all over the car. I went back inside and made the attendent come out and write a description of all the damage on my rental contract so that I would not be charged and held accountable for it. She was not pleased to do this, but I have experienced this same situation with my boss and his insurance company had to pay. The tank was not full........as it was supposed to be. The check engine light came on and stayed on the entire week. It rattled, squeaked, moaned, groaned, shook, vibrated........I felt like I was driving a 15 year old vehicle! Because it was spring break.......this was all that was available.

I've never had a car that was in such poor shape.......... :sad2:

I got a really BAD car from the EA once in FLL. We drove up to WDW and it shook and rattled the whole way. I called National and they told me to go to MCO, where they changed me into a brand new SUV at no extra charge. It was a PITA because they wouldn't let me do it at the car care center on property.

Even though your problem was over spring break, they have no business putting you in an unsafe car. They should have done something.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. Thank you for clueing me in on what to do in that situation. I don't know that I'd think to have an employee write everything down. I would suggest writing to National. Perhaps they will make some type of arrangement so as not to lose your business. If nothing else writing to them may help you feel better.
