Disappointed in Napa Rose

LOL, how dare you have anything other than a glowing opinion about all things within the Disney bubble? :rotfl:

I'll never understand that. Especially with food because it is so subjective. When I am researching I want to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly -- even more so if it is a place that has a hefty price tag by Disney standards!

I have been attacked as well for WDW saying schoolbread and Il Mulino are both overhyped and not enjoyable. :rolleyes2 crazy
I remember saying that Blue Bayou was pretty awful food quality wise too so I guess I pushed too many buttons (have seen people report that BB sucks post Covid as well, which doesn't surprise me).

People are allowed to have their opinions on Disney dining and trust me, I know how mixed these restaurants get review wise. I just thought my experience at Napa Rose was subpar for the price. I don't think I would return especially with the post Covid changes.

Thank you!!! I had read it was included with the Fantasmic package but had no idea you could still get it with regular dining if you paid. ☺️
I think the best part about the bread is the little side of jam that they give with it (they also give butter spread). I think it is the same jam that you get with the Monte Cristo. It is my favorite part!!

i have avoided napa the last few visits and years since covid, i prefer hearthstone or goofys, the menu at napa has mostly stayed the same, i think the best things they have come from the kids menu the noodles and regular steak lol, hoping for some improvement eventually

I don't understand the free refills mentality, which began sometime in the '80s. Who needs a quart of sugary (or chemical) drink? We're killing ourselves with these addictions.
Humans have free will and can do as they please in this free country. If someone gets a refill they’re an addict in your mind? Most of the food people eat is just as bad. However, Disney parks are a vacation destination. People on vacation tend to relax and let loose. Moderation is key with anything but it’s ok to indulge sometimes. Let’s worry more about own own lives and just let people do their thing.

Oh, please. Did you not understand that this was a conversation about pervasive daily habits, and not a one-time indulgence on vacation? Your argument boils down to, “It’s a free country?”

I don’t see how it’s relevant to Napa Rose but I also don’t want to get into a whole thing here. I couldn’t resist a comment on the ridiculousness of your position. Hey, you do you and you tell those sugary soda addicts who’s boss!

Last I checked it is a free country full of humans with free will who make their owns choices. Seems some make the opposite of yours and that’s ok. Have fun. Be safe out there no hate.

I’ve never heard of anyone taking issue with that. It’s more of a necessity and shortening the descriptor is just more convenient and it doesn’t sound as the kids say, “cringe” the way “Cali” does.
Yeah it's probably just a me thing. To be fair I tend to dislike abbreviations in general, but I get that it saves time/effort when speaking.

I think we all have those certain words/expressions that "rub our fur the wrong way," as my DH would say 😁. I have to grit my teeth when I hear someone say "all of the sudden" or "sorry, not sorry." 🤪

100% agree with this. Not only ridiculously overpriced for what you get (and we love Victoria & Albert's, the recently-reno'd Narcoossee's and other nice Disney spots), but the food quality was just, well, good (as in okay). Not great or premium by any means. My steak was barely okay, but not as good as other nice Disney restaurants. I was quite surprised at the mediocre quality. A single scallop (as in one) for over $30 is a bit ridiculous. Again, it was okay, but nothing special.

On top of all that, you're paying beyond top dollar and it felt like a quick service ambiance with guests with backpacks hanging off of chairs, people wearing ball caps while eating and so on. This was a Saturday night dinner. I get that it's a Disney restaurant, but at least have a small bit of decorum. Would not recommend for all of these reasons.

On the other hand, the Princess Breakfast there is much more enjoyable.
Oh I'm glad you think the breakfast is good as I have booked that as a birthday treat for my adult daughter. Looking forward to it even though it is still expensive.

Had dinner there on Saturday night, my first experience. Everything was prepared very well and the service and ambiance were perfectly fine.

But wow a very limited menu and overpriced for sure. And having to pay for bread service is ridiculous. Cali Grill and Citricos by comparison blow this place away. Would not recommend. Save some money and go to Goofy Kitchen.
Goofy’s Kitchen?
You could not pay me to go there.

We find the food quality to be better and the ambiance and princesses are great!

Um…. I hear SoCal all of the time…. My wife lived there her whole life and if you ask her where she is from she will say SoCal… Orange Country area.
Maybe that's why I have grown to dislike it...I hear it too often! So many businesses seem to use that as a precursor to their name too (e.g., NorCal Landscaping). And don't get me started on acronyms (I work in academia where they run rampant) -- although I am very guilty of using them, especially for Disney stuff when I don't want to type a whole/proper name for something. Okay...now I'm realizing I'm a bit of a hypocrite 😜🤣

Don't sweat it! We all have our pecadilloes, like people who use what-the-heck words like pecadilloes :D
