Although my family of 4 had eaten at and very much enjoyed Mythos twice on our March 2006 trip, we were all very disappointed in our meal there earlier this week. It was open from 11:30 till 3:00, while we were there.

We had a chef's special BBQ Pork Flatbread, which was quite good.

I had the Chicken Oscar. The crab cake was tiny, but tasted fair. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The mashed potatoes were fine. The price was $14.95. I had the Misty Isle Mixed Grill (grilled chicken and sausage atop mashed potatoes) at Finnegan's twice this trip. It was only $11.95, and it was fantastic in comparison.

DH had the Cowboy Sandwich for $12.50. He said it was OK. The BBQ overwhelmed the sandwich and was all he could really taste.

DS 12 had the Daily Pasta Specialty. It was a pesto sauce with far too much oil. It was $14.95. It was a large portion, but no one liked it enough to finish it.

DS 10 had the Filet with truffle butter for $15.95. This is a shoulder filet, so he got 3 small pieces of beef. Two pieces were cooked to a perfect medium, but the third was way overcooked, tough, and tasteless. Overall, this dish got great reviews.

For dessert, we shared the $5.25 PB Gooey Cake. The portion was definitely meant to be eaten by one, aleady full patron. From what we tasted, it was good.

The boys had milkshakes, DH had a beer, and I had water. With tax, tip, and a 10% AAA discount, our bill was almost $100.

Finnegan's never exceeded $75, and the food was wonderful. We ate there twice. It is our new favorite at the Universal parks. :)

I've never tried Finnegan's for anything other than dessert and swore we'd never go back. However, after this glowing report, I think we will give it another try.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I love Mythos' Cowboy Sandwich!

I'll preface this by saying that I have had many excellent meals at Mythos. We ate at Mythos for lunch on Monday and we were a party of 6. Most of the meals minus the kids meals were all overcooked. My father had the burger ordered medium rare and it was sent back 2 times since it arrived well-done. The third and last time when it arrived well-done again the manager was speechless! They had a small gathering of staff at the table when he cut into the burger the last time! Shocked is an accurate word to find it yet again well-done.:confused3 I ordered the pork special with the pistachio coating and it was shoe leather it was so overcooked!

The pizza app and the Caesar salad were the only meals that were edible. Mythos did the right thing and took the overdone entrees off the bill. I'm chalking it up to a bad day in the kitchen! When we return in October I am hoping to find things back to normal!

dandave, I wonder if we were there on the same day as you? We also LOVE Finnegan's! :thumbsup2

We always loved Mythos too, until our meal there last summer. The Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella Flatbread we ordered as an appetizer was great! Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing we can say about the meal. Our DS ordered soup as his starter & didn't like it at all. My DH & I both ordered the salmon, which we always looked forward to from one trip to the next. Sadly, it was so dry, it was practically inedible. I can't remember what our son ordered, but his wasn't very good either. I can't comment on dessert, because our server never bothered to offer any. We most definitely didn't leave full. All this led us to decide we will only have lunch at Mythos in the future. We do love the atmosphere. It's a shame a restaurant of the quality Mythos previously exhibited seems to be slipping so far.

Fan2CSkr,
When can we expect your reviews? I'm in no hurry. :hyper: Well, maybe a little. :rolleyes1

Where about's is finnigans? thanks.

We tried Mythos before and my dish was pretty good balsamic chicken and onion tart, but my DD couldn't eat her chicken fingers (colourful?) yuck

We were at Mythos in April and it was great.

Finnigan's is across from Mummy.

Yes, Finnegan's was a big hit with my whole family. DS 10 had the Shepherd's Pie with cheese on both visits, I had the mixed grill twice, DH and DS 12 enjoyed the Bangers and Mash as well as the Fried Fish on our first day there. After trying my chicken, they ordered the Mixed Grill on our second visit. The Pasti appetizer was soo good, and everyone enjoyed the scotch eggs, also. Oh, I'm making myself hungry!

Fan2CSkr, We were at Mythos on Tuesday the 22nd, right at 11:30. :)

Love the mixed grille and the cobb salad at Finnegans

Sorry to hear about the bad meals at Mythos. We've never had a bad meal there. I did order the same rissitto 2x in one trip and found it was no where as good the 2nd time. Still it was good, but the 1st time I thought it was one of the best thigns I had ever eaten. I just chalked it up to being worn out the second time.

We ate at Mythos a few weeks ago and enjoyed it, but it wasnt anything to get excited about. The tomato basil flatbrea appetizer was really good and ordered the chefs special ( I believe it was a seasfood) and it was good, not great. My husband did really enjoy the chicken wrap that he ordered and we had a fantastic view of the Hulk from our seat. Again, we enjoyed it, but Im nnot jumping to go back or anything.

Lombards on the other hand , was outstanding...definitely THE BEST meal I have ever had in a theme park. The mahi sandwhich was amazing and the service was top notch. Totally cant wait to visit Lonbards again :thumbsup2

As for Finnegans, we found it to be really loud and the food just mediocre.
