Disappointed in Maggiano's.

Mmmmm, I love Caprese salad! Yes, it's very simple and easy to make at home, but it's just so good, that I'll gladly pay $8 for it at a restaurant, too!

$500 does sound like a lot for 8 people though. Were there a lot of drinks included in that?

I have never ordered this at a restaurant. However, we have great tomatoes here in the summer (NJ), and so many places here make fresh mozzarella daily, that we eat this several times a week all summer long!

The other child who was with us (i.e., not my son) ate most of the mozzarella right off the plate; his aunt got one slice and he took the rest. He also took all of the sauce that came with the fried calamari we ordered. My friend is not so great about supervising her kid.

I think each of the adults ordered two drinks plus espresso and Sambuca with dessert, so that would total 15 drinks.

Gorgeous place! And the food was excellent, but the price! We're going to Luka's in Ridgefield Park next time.

I don't agree with all his reviews and ideas (especially eating at the bar), but I find his reviews interesting. Tommy takes his cocktails very seriously, and he's liked them at Rosa Mexicano.
