Disappointed in Disney Scrapbook Store

We just got back from a trip Dec 7-12. I made it a special point to get to the scrapbook store in DtD but to me it seemed like they just didnt have that much stuff. Why no Mickey head punches either?? I thought for sure they would have some.
OTOH I got some great stuff to put on the boys pages from around the parks. They got a Monorail co-pilots license and we got future rider passes for ToT, RnR Coaster and Star Tours.
And at Universal I finally got my 2 yr old so sit on the bike with ET!! I have pics of 2 of my other sons on the same bike.

The store in DTD is definately not as good as it was last year. Last year, they have lots and lots of stickers plus the ready made kits. This year, they had only a couple of sticker packs and most of those were the same as last year. I only picked up the kits this year.

ITA. I was also down there the week of the 7th and was very dissappointed in the scrapbook store. I expected there to be a lot more.

I wish they'd stock more of the licensed items you can find online or in stores. There are so many neat things and not many stores really carry a wide Disney selection. I think they could improve the store 100% by stocking almost every Disney sticker & paper available anywhere. That's a store I'd love to visit, really not impressed with the store the way it is.

I kinda agree. I still come out every single time with $100s of $$ being spent... LOL!! (Three boys... and I've started buying their albums for our trips.) But the selection isn't THAT great.

But there is so much other great stuff out there... the new EK Success (the new Christmas Disney Jolees and the new embroidered stickers), Sandylion (have you see the rub-ons?) and Creative Imagination... I love it all (and buy it all ). Just wait until you see the NEW EK Success stuff coming out in March!! Paper clips with characters on the ends and actual Mickey head buttons... like the Button-Ups. I told my friends it's a good thing we go to Disney so much cuz I need to buy all this stuff for my scrapbooks... LOL!!

I'm wondering if they had just gotten sold out of stuff because in September they had TONS of stuff - the Mickey head scissors, LOTS of kits. You can call down to that store and purchase stuff through the phone. They can tell you if they have items backordered or not. I can't remember the name of the store though - I had gotten the number last year and I don't think I still have it. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it - Disney's Wonderful World of Memories - 407/828-3937 and the name of the scissors are actually - Mickey Shears

Deena...do you save things from Universal to use on pages? I really wish that Universal would open a scrapbook store, they could make a lot of money off me!! LOL

Oh, I totally disagree!!! You can't find their kits, eyelets, or albums in any LSS or chain store. Granted their selection is not huge, but it's not what you can find in stores, either. (Mousememories.com, yes, but at outrageous prices cuz they shop there and then turn around and sell it for a profit.)

And their albums are actually a steal!! $25 and you get the album AND CS!!! At my LSS, the Disney albums sell for over $30!!!

I like the variety at all the different stores... DTD/WDW and my LSSs!! What one store doesn't have, surely the other one will. Shopping between those three, I'm not lacking for any Disney stuff... that's for sure!! I like being able to go to WDW/DTD and get stuff I can't get in stores. It makes it special since not just anyone can use it in their books, but mainly only people who visit DTD/WDW.

What they need at DTD besides better product selection is someone who KNOWS how to scrap doing their samples in that table/case. Shalina from here and 2peas comes to mind. She does AWESOME work. The stuff would FLY off the shelves!!!

For my Universal pages I have used stickers of the different characters. They have Jimmy Neutron, Spongebob--now they have some really cool 3D looking ones, Spiderman, Cat in the Hat.
I'll try to figure out my digital camera and see if I can post some of them.

I totally agree! Our last trip in November I just walked through and didn't buy a thing. Disney is REALLY dropping the ball with this store as I think if they really stocked it people would buy - even if they stocked it with the stuff you can find on-line or at scrapbook stores - not everyone has a store nearby. They could have the walls filled with samples of pages and cards so people could get ideas - and sell all the materials there. Disney, are you listening???

I hardly ever use eyelets on my pages, only once in a great while, so maybe that is why I wasn't impressed? Also I have 2 albums from Disney that I bought there, but I wasn't really impressed with those either. I don't know, just the overall stuff in that store wasn't great. Just my opinion, but the whole store is a disappointment to me.
