Disappointed at saratoga springs

Anyone else think that maybe the OP meant that they were dissatisfied while at SSR and not that they are dissatisfied with SSR. :confused3

Agreed. This thread should not be directed at the resort. I don't even really find anything in this thread to be particularly "post worthy". How long did the security guard fiasco delay you? One minute? Three minutes? Did it really alter anything in the grand scheme of your vacation? Perhaps the security guard was going above and beyond to help these women with questions, make them feel at home, etc., you know, the things you wish the boat captain would have done for you.

I have to chuckle everytime I hear "The CM was sooo rude" type threads. While I don't know the circumstances, and you may very well have just come across a downright "rude" CM, I always try to look at the other side of the arguement. Were you rude in the way in which you approached the CM? Perhaps the person directly before you was? I know, we all hold Disney CM's to a higher standard, and the customer is always "right". But dealing with the general public, especially the tens of thousands that each CM comes in contact with daily, has to be trying at times. They are human, and they do have breaking points. Hopefully, it was just one of those circumstances, and you caught him at a weak moment.

I am so sorry that only you post "postworthy" posts! Lets see how YOU in your Tower would interpret this statement: Me: I'm sorry, did I just hear that this boat only drops off at Pleasure Island? Is there a different one that goes to Marketplace? Driver: Didn't I just say we go to Pleasure Island only?
If you want to go somewhere else, take a bus! ---- So.....still have a smart remark?

I'd love to hear exactly how long OP had to wait.

About 8 minutes - my kid didn't feel good and had to use the bathroom, which was the reason we were going back to the resort. And as I mentioned, about 3 buses and multiple cars were behind us at that point and OTHERS were honking their horns, so not really pleasant.

This has nothing to do with meeting mine, or anyone else's satisfaction. I, along with others, are calling the OP out for bashing the resort, when in fact the resort did nothing wrong. End of discussion.

My opinion still stands, that regardless of who is to blame for the OP's disgruntled feelings, they're hardly worth mentioning. But it is a free country, and semi-free speaking forums, and if posting on here makes him/her feel better, than nock your socks off. Let's just call a spade a spade, that's my only point.

Pass the cranberry sauce!

OK, A) LOVE WDW and SSR B) So sorry I mentioned something on here - guess only certain people can and C) you want it to be about SSR itself here goes:

--- Resort is beautiful -----staff at check-in and Artist's Palette and elsewhere, exemplary -- so if I lumped in the people working ON PROPERTY at Saratoga Springs instead of calling them Transportation, I'm sorry.

On the downside:

Mousekeeping - the ones sitting in the cart, the big cart, 5 women SCREAMING at the 6th one on the 3rd floor to hurry up?? - all the "smoking areas" apparently being at the entrances to get to the building - not pleasant.

1) Chipped tiles in bathroom 2) 2 lamps that did not work 3) Washer that didn't work 4) hair on bathroom floors and in my kid's bed when we turned it down for the night - Black by the way -- none of us have black hair. 5) DIRTY dishes put away -- dishes in the dishwasher still 6) Splattered stuff on all the walls. Very visible - wipe it off please. 7) Opened our curtains in main bedroom and the pole that you pull with fell off.

I sent a letter to DVC - for all of our dues (all members) - I feel rooms should be kept up better.

'Mom, the last time we were at SSR (this fall) we left our villa, but we forgot something so I had to return and get it.

So, we left (initially) passed a housekeeper sitting on a bench in the little common areas. She was wiping down her arms with a cloth.

I returned (pass two) and she was now working on cleaning her hands.

I went back to the car (pass three) and she was working on cleaning out her ears with a cloth.

Nice huh? :rotfl: Must say I never saw a CM grooming themselves in public before.

Sounds to me like he answered your question .... :lmao:

Had he been a good CM (or one who bought into the training they are given) he'd have told you that there is a transfer ferry you can take from PI to the Market Place.

I agree with you, OP. He was not polite and that is not the sort of response one would expect from a Disney CM.

Thank you. We really love Disney and DVC and SSR, but all these things combined were too much at one time.

Yep, it sure sounds like it. Reminds me of the time we made the mistake of taking the DDP... but that's a tale for a lonnnnnnng winter's night! LOL.

Obviously, we too love Disney and love all the DVC resorts with the exception of the BWV. That doesn't mean that we are willing to accept shoddy service without comment and expectations that the person delivering poor service won't have the opportunity to have additional training.

So you were "offended" by the driver making casual conversation, observing that you were wet from the rain??? :confused3

Am I missing something here? Did he dump a bucket of water on you, then proceed to inform you that you're "all wet"? :)

Getting soaked is a slang term for being ripped off.

A valid alternative understanding!

your poor son -thats brutal he had to wait while the bus driver did god knows what :confused3 . Id be p-o'ed too. Then pile it up with a not so great villa, and a jerk as a boat captain. Geez-not what you expect from Disney . I hope you still had a great trip and MS can help you possibly due to your villa issues:goodvibes
