i just had to share this with you all. i just got off the phone with my mom. she said she and my stepdad went over to my grandparents' house today to help them clean up all the trees. well, about 40 people ended up showing up to help. she said people were all over the yard with saws and bags and trailers, etc., cleaning everything up. she talked to one of the girls and most of them were just a group of people that got together this weekend and just drove around to help people clean up their yards from the storm damage. mom said that my grandpa got them together before they left and tried to give them some money, but they wouldn't take it. after that he was thanking them and he got choked up a little bit and one of the little boys that was there came over and hugged him.....some kid he didn't even know! how sweet is that??????? :goodvibes  anyway, that whole story just made me feel good and i had to spread the joy. :flower3:

That's so nice to hear people are still helpful.:goodvibes

Dance...I'll come clean your house! :thumbsup2 I actually like cleaning someone elses house better than mine! I use to help a friend who had 4 kids get hers in order! And can it really only be about 10 days until you have the baby???? Where did the time go?!?

Feel free to stop in at my house anytime to clean.

I hate laundry.

Me too, I have three hugs mounds.

DH has to fly to Nashville today in these winds. Please say a prayer for a safe trip.

Prayers being said.

Morning all.

Melinda, thanks for reposting your fiber information. I have bookmarked that page so that I can refer back to it. I was wondering what I was going to do for my outing today and I think I'll go over to whole foods and do some browsing and pick up some flax seed and Fiber cereal/bars to get me started.

I'm especially thrilled to hear about those lean cuisines. I will definitely be looking at those as I love having something quick to grab in the mornings.

Danielle, thanks for the chuckle. I was wearing pants with that t-shirt but I guess I did forget to mention that part. Legs are the ugliest thing on me (BESIDES THE HAIR). They are so flabby. Gross. I'm already fretting over going to WDW in May, the time of shorts and bathing suits. Me showing those thighs is going to be like Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man walking through New York City. The people will be screaming and running willy-nilly in all directions. And yes, I'm that pale too. Puffy and I would be identical twins if he'd get him some Don King hair instead of that little sailor hat.

Dawn, your story regarding your grandparents was fantastic. In these days of cynical and mean people, it's nice to hear that humanity is actually alive and doing well in this world. A heavy does of random kindness makes me realize why it's so great to still be around.

Well I'm off to let my dogs take me for a walk and then I'm going to Whole Foods. I hope everyone has a great day.

What she said, though you worded it much better then I ever could.

OOOOOOOOOOOO is it windy over here.

The windchill has it at -25F.

Can you say, stay in the house Monica? But I really need to run to Sams Club.

DH has to fly to Nashville today in these winds. Please say a prayer for a safe trip.

stay in the house, monica!!!! ;)

it's windy here, too. i'm sitting on the couch right now watching the wind blow my stringed lights i have hanging outside on the back porch and my lawn furniture all over the place. but it's not nearly as cold! good vibes going to your DH today.....:goodvibes what's he going to nashville for? is he in insurance? just curious because i know the nashville area is full of insurance adjusters right now from the tornadoes!

you have no idea how much that means to me. :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you for all the kind birthday wishes! I love my peeps!

Melinda -- I've lost all but about 58 of the 63 lbs I've lost so far while being a peep. I actually count all 63 though, b/c I would have probably gained those five back with out you all!

Dance -- Hang in there and stay healthy... I wish I lived closer, I'd be there in a second! I can even put furniture together...

Dawn -- Thanks for the reminder that there are good and wonderful people in the world. Random acts of kindness are the best!

Everyone else -- :hippie: :wave2:

Hey... back on the old thread there was a theoretical discussion about hypothetically copying and pasting copyrighted pictures from websites. I think someone had that skill and posted instructions (Kat or Lynda maybe??). If anyone knows how to do this and would hypothetically like to share with me, send a me a pm if you would. Thanks!

Hi all,

MJ - Happy belated Birthday!!

Dance - I love cleaning, but im just a touch too far away to come and help!:rotfl:

Dawn - Lovely story. It is so nice to hear of things like that, normally we only hear bad things about people, so it is lovely to hear of random acts of kindness.

Mony - Praying for a safe trip for your husband.

Welcome to the newbies, its great here!

 to anyone who needs it. I feel like im forgetting something, but not sure what...!

Hey peeps!

this weekend i ate great! even when we went to the movies i just drank water!!!

hope everyone had a great weekend!

Didn't you just go there recently? I bet there's still pixie dust in the pockets of your clothes.

Or a shoe even.
I did go back in December..but i am already missing that place! Darn WDW and there crazy pixie dust! LOL! i should check the pockets in my suitcase then! :)

welp, i just finished my first shift by myself at longhorn. i only had 2 tables (they do that for newbies) and i made $43. that's not too shabby for lunch. normally i'd have 4 tables so double that.

AND i wore a pedometer and walked 10 MILES!!!!!

.
HOLY MOLEY!!! 10 miles!

Hey peeps!

It's been very windy here today too. I went to take the dog for a walk and I felt like Winnie the Pooh on the blustery day. I told the dog he better hurry up before he went flying through the air like Piglet.:rotfl:

I just told my dog the same thing.... she went out for her last potty break of the night and the wind is just whipping around my back yard. Brrr it's COLD out there!

I am so HAPPY---Dh and I were talking this afternoon about our Gatlinburg trip and we have now decided--insert drum roll--to go back to Disney for a week instead :cool1: :cool1: Trying to figure out when to go. Call member services in the morning and going to see what they have for end of May first of June. In regards to the Mountain trip--things the older kids wanted to do I/DH would be stuck back at the cabin with the younger ones. That is not my idea of fun.

We are going to pretend that we are still going to the Mts and surprise them with the trip on the way. We will see how long it takes them to catch on.

Hey everybody!

I survived ATLANTA. Guess my small town-ness is really showing. Mistake number 1: I used Mapquest which gave me the shortest route but also took me straight through DOWNTOWN. Mistake number 2: Not timing my trip and ending up in the middle of downtown at 4:15 on a Friday:scared1: I am afraid to say that there are now permanant grip marks on my steering wheel and I was working on my "buns of steel" How many calories do you think you can burn driving under those conditions?:rotfl:

But on to the best part-

I am so proud of my girls. Indulge me in a little mama time ;)

Our studio took a total of 42 numbers to the competition. The studio got all first or second place with the exception of 1 third place, 1 fourth place and 1 fifth place. The numbers my girls participated placed:

Lyrical : First place
Open production(tap and jazz): First place
Open production(musical theater): First place
Junior musical theater: First place
Senior Line Jazz: Second place

So :woohoo: !!! We had a great time. But I'm exhausted. I did think about you Punkin. Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend as well. I'll catch up tomorrow.

CONGRATS to your girls!!!!!! :thumbsup2 that's awesome. i thought about calling you yesterday when i got off work but i came home and CRASHED. you probably haven't read back but i wore my pedometer at work yesterday and walked 10 miles. needless to say, i was kinda tired!!!

oh, and that atlanta traffic.......yeah, i do it ALL THE TIME. not fun. if you're not out of atlanta by 3:00 p.m., you're sitting in traffic. period. my family complains about traffic in nashville and i just look at them and shake my head......there's no comparison!!!

can i just vent for a minute?

okay. thanks.

i posted my itinerary over on the TGM forums to see what people thought. i got many critical comments because i wasn't following TGM's advice to a T. it really offended me. i mean, what if i don't want to get up early and hit every park at opening? what if i want to sleep in on MY VACATION??? and i don't need a 3-hour break every day. those tips just don't work for me personally at this point in my life. anyway, they weren't necessarily rude, but they were all kind of taken aback that i don't completely follow TGM's advice. mind you, i do look at his least crowded park days and sample touring plans. i just feel like some of his "followers" are like nazis and if you deviate from his plans, it's sacreligious to them!

okay. rant over. just wondering if i'm the only one who's noticed this?

I paid the money for TGM but I have to admit I'm not really that impressed with that site or their message boards. I dont find it as informative & as easy to use as the dis. The past 4 times we have gone to wdw i have used the unofficial guide crowd calendar and it has worked & has always been dead on.

Vent away! Sorry this is a fly by post. Been busy all weekend, and will be for the next few days too.

I got railroaded too, when they thought I was "cramming" too much into my stay. Well, I knew that me and my daughter wouldn't be going back for a looooong time, so we wanted to get all our favorites in. We also weren't doing any TS meals, so that we could get more touring done. When it was all said and done, we had a wonderful trip! There are two in particular who made me feel like an idiot for trying to do what I was doing. People tour differently, and they need to be tolerant of that. Sorry it didn't go well for you.

Don't worry, your among friends here, and we are here to listen to your rants, and we'll give you advice if you want it.

BTW, I ran my race today! I finished it in 23:25! :cool1: It was a two mile run. I was really pleased with my results. I was actually able to wear shorts today! :thumbsup2 It was a beautiful day for a race. I've just got allergies that are driving me nuts. :scared:

Hooray Sparkie and girls, hooray Allie, and I forgot to say, Pakey, have you thought about a spray-on tan? My legs are doughy and white, and I'm thinking about the Bain de Soleil foam. I'm too cheap for spray-on from the salon.

thanks, girls! i like the website for the least crowded park days and his touring advice. but i'm done with the forums! seems like it's TGM's way or the highway over there. here's what i put as my response to all their criticisms. this was after i attempted to explain my reasoning for some of my choices and still was getting criticized for not following TGM religiously.

i want to thank you all for your advice. i won't be returning to these forums though. i've found that if you don't completely follow TGM's advice, you are questioned about it and looked at as if you have horns growing out of your head. i did ask for thoughts about my itinerary so it's partly my fault, but i had no idea people would be so taken aback that i don't live by TGM. i will continue to subscribe for my upcoming trips and use the least crowded parks guide and, believe it or not, the sample touring plans. i think even TGM would understand that not everyone can follow his advice ALL THE TIME. i'm not trying to flame anyone or be rude because no one has been rude to me. i just don't feel very welcome here. thanks.

anyway, that's done.

allie - congrats on your race! :thumbsup2 that's awesome! you are a racing machine lately!!! :worship:

anna just sent me this and i'm cracking up right now. warning......manly parts are ALMOST shown in this video. but if you love john mayer like i do....or maybe if you just like him.....or even if you hate him.....go watch this! :lmao: he's crazy!
