Urgh! This is the first time that I Gained weight!!! I gained 2 pounds..but I know exactly why a long memorial day weekend with ALOT of drinking and eating bad foods at BBQ and parties and then add a wednesday night where i went to a Met Game and ate more bad food and drank till 4 am...yeah that will do it!

Just looking forward to my non eventful week next week to get my life back on track.

p.s. I think my bridal shower is next saturday too! someone slipped and then I peaked at my registry and all the gifts were almost good....NICE! :thumbsup2
 
I am +2...It's my own darn fault! But thank you to all the big losers!!!! You have inspired me to get back on track!

It's raining and sort of a dreary day but I've lost 5 pounds, so I can't complain.

Before anyone sends their congratulations, I only lost the weight b/c I had a wicked case of the stomach flu. Be that as it may, I'm keeping that weight loss permanent! I have a food journal set up in a simple spreadsheet to track my calories, water intake, and daily exercise. Even though I still have no appetite, I purged the house of any junk food.

We'll be going to WDW in January and I really, really want to be even a little smaller. It's amazing how just a few pounds makes you feel more or less comfortable (we girls notice this from our monthly struggles with bloating!). Being healthy means I'll have a better trip.

Congratulations to everyone this week! Keep it up! (And I love the pictures!)

Can you guys believe I just called the Kona and got a dinner reservation for July 1st?

I really wasnt anticipating being able to but viola- dinner for 4 at the Kona.

So now that gives me:

CRT, Kona, 1900 Park Fair, Lecellier, Spirit of Aloha, Hoop De Doo, San Angel Inn, Garden Grill, WCC, Chef de France, and 50's Prime Time....

I'll really have to be good when I get home.

I havent been weighing in regular but so far I am holding my own. No change since the 4 pound loss recorded on the doctor scale but no gain either so I'll take it.

maybe you were able to get the dining reservation for kona so easily because A friend of mine that is a cast member at one of the hotels has told me that WDW resort hotels are not completely booked for the summer and the foreseeable future she says its because of the economy
 
Oh Peeps...what am I going to do? I put on a pair of shorts that I've had for awhile. I wouldn't say they were ever tight but they fit well. Over the past few months - actually since last summer they have been looser since I've apparently been losing weight. Well today I put them on and they were back to the tight fit. Not good.

Another not so good moment tonight (that I know I'm being too sensitive about). I'm staying the night at my DB and DSIL's house because they are going out of town and my mom and I will be taking care of their kiddos. I'm picking them up from school and bringing them back to my house. Anyway, while chatting it came up that I don't have a job for the summer and I basically said that I don't really want one since it's only a month and a half, I'll make no money and have crappy hours but I did admit that I get bored sometimes with no real plans for the day and nothing to do. Well instead of saying, take a trip to the beach, the mall, go to the movies, volunteer, etc. she says maybe join a gym or curves? I'm totally the girl that takes food/exercise/looks comments personally, and I felt not so wonderful after that. She has a point although I really have no desire to join a gym...maybe curves though. Would anyone mind sharing how much the membership is? Is it for a month/year? Anyway, I'm admitting that I've been bingeing a lot this past week or so and I don't want to do it anymore.

I just feel so disgusted with myself.

And on that uplifting note, I hope everyone has a great weekend and sees pretty numbers in the morning!


Shannon, maybe she was just saying that because exercise can be a pick-me-up?

I looked into Curves once and their schedule is way too inflexible for me. I don't usually leave work until 6 or 7 and they close at 7 around here. I would look for a cheaper alternative... my gym is $10/month with no commitment. It has no classes, though. Sometimes you can find a free trial, or a "deal" of some kind? I would surf around the websites of gyms around you and see what they have available.


Aaron, you look incredible. I can't even believe the change! And yes, you are so right that the difference between 175 and 165 is substantial.

Unfortunately, my binging WDW trip put me back closer to 175 and I can really feel it. I am trying not to hate myself and just jump right back up and keep on keepin' on... I have been good all week. However, I am still not going to weigh in today.


Welcome to the newbies!! I have lost close to 50 lbs (was over 50 before my vacation, and I am not changing my ticker, darn it!) since I joined this thread... it really does help keep you accountable. I am about 20 lbs from goal. My plan is 1200 calories and 4-5 days of gym time (30-45 of cardio, weights twice a week, but concentration more on cardio). I am 5'8" and 32 yrs old.

I can truly understand the effect of the economy on the travel industry. If it were not for my daughter's dance competition being held in WDW we probably would not be going either. But I just couldnt be in WDW for 3 days of dance alone. No way I could be that close to Mickey and not say HI!:wave: Fortunately we lucked into a nice tax refund in addition to our "BUSH MONEY" (HA!) so instead of saving for a rainy day which I will probably regret later - we opted for a nice vacation to escape reality- because you now, reality will still be there when we get back, bad economy, world natural disasters and all. - boy what a downer I am this morning- So I am chosing to just go and have fun.

Well.. I am a SAMER this week, but truly I won't complain. I had Chinese food last Friday and AF is here visiting, so overall staying the same is a good thing! It does mean I miss my May goal by about 1.5 or so, but not too bad. But I've got to get moving if I am going to meet my July 4th challenge! Glad to see so many good numbers from you folks......................P
 
Count me as someone that has a gain this week due to last weekends debauchary...just up 1 though...not bad considering what the scale said Tuesday!!! oh MY!

I have alot i would like to comment on but am pressed for time..so a big :hug: and :goodvibes for all!
 
I'm actually happy with how I ate this weekend. We did go out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate finishing the fence that we were building in our back yard. But besides that I was really good with counting my points and drinking plenty of water, even on Monday. I did my ususal mid-week weigh in, and so far I'm happy with what I saw.

Anyway, here is last week's July 4th challenge update. Let me know if I missed you...

I've been soooo busy cleaning for my son's birthday party that I haven't had time to eat, which is a good thing. His birthday is today but I'm having his party tomorrow because we're heading to a Cincinnati Reds game this evening. I told him that the ballpark is having fireworks after the game because it's his b-day and now he believes that the fireworks are especially for him. :goodvibes Too cute! I know that I'll be tempted into eating badly at the ballpark so wish me luck.
 
Does anyone not-so-subconsciously feel like Friday nights are "free"?

I got Paula Dean's sons' cookbook that is packed with delicious recipes and tonight we're doing the PULLED PORK sandwiches. :lovestruc

I won't serve mine on a bun, but still! I feel diet-naughty!

For lunch though, I had a SIDE salad from McNo-No's, so maybe I wont do too much harm. I'm also serving fresh corn on the cob and cowboy beans. See? I don't even want to know the amount of fat and calories and carbs. :faint:
 
I am up 2 lbs. I don't even want to talk about it.

DD graduates in the morning. I am frantic, but I needed some time on the computer to decompress.
 
I am -1.4 this week. Very happy with that too, considering it has been yet another crazy week here. I go in for my surgery on Monday at 11, so I have been trying to get the house in order before I go...yeah right. It is a losing battle for sure! The one good thing was I cleaned my pantry 'Jillian style'...3 trash bags of junk food gone from my house!!

eta-- Those after pics are amazing and inspiring. I cant believe the difference Lynda, Aaron and Dawn! Congrats to you all!! Cant wait to be able to post mine soon.
 
Shannon - I would have been upset about the gym comment too but I think some of the reason for it is because we're overweight. I know sometimes my DH will say something like "you should go for a walk today with the baby" and I'm like looking for the next bad thing to shove in my mouth when he's not looking. I was at curves but it was hard for me because there was no babysitting service and I hate exercising when my DH would get home from work so I left there and joined an all woman gym in the next town well they are going out of business so I'm going to just do some things at home. I have on order "Walk away the pounds" because of Gina so I'm looking forward to doing that.

have someone else measure me. Given the fact that she really didn't seem to know where to measure and kept asking " is this where they had the measuring tape last time?"

That scares me.

Awww that's so cute. They are going off for him. I'm going to a baseball game here tonight, not major, AAA, Bridgeport Bluefish if anyone's heard of them. Probably not. Not good food choices there I say.

+2.4 this week due to the holiday weekend. I weigh in on Tuesday so yes I ate on Monday and paid for it on Tuesday. Been good so far except for tonight we're going to a baseball game (if it doesn't rain like they said it was supposed to), kind of nervous though. What is good to eat there?
