DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! - Part 5

GOOD MORNING!!!

Finally the long weekend is over......and we have a snow day. Yep. Good times. It's up to the girls though. I have to go to work today....both jobs....since the banks were closed yesterday.

It rhymes with Baco Smell.
I almost spit my coffee out on that one, Monica! :lmao: Hope you feel better! Those last few pages of New Moon are pretty action packed...you'll be finished in no time.

Faith! You're back! How was it? Fun! Cold? Crowded? And re: those 5 pounds...I find that Disney serves food according to the constipation diet...not many fruits/veggies. You'll be back to normal in noooo time.

Dawn....I agree on Tom Brady and I think Gina said it right when she said he dates a supermodel and has a child by another woman that he abandoned when she was pregnant. Great guy. I'll take Peyton Manning any day.

Lynda....Way to go on the diet and exercise. All the motivation is obviously in Illinois. I can't find any here.

EVERYBODY.....:wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

guess what? i have to drive home tomorrow and we're supposed to have freezing rain here in nashville!!!!! :headache: why does the bad weather insist on happening when i'm doing my traveling? :confused3

there ya go. exactly why i loathe him. that and i just think he's a pretty boy and he rubs me the wrong way. kinda the way i felt about john kerry in '04. i really didn't want to vote for bush but i just could not bring myself to vote for kerry......something about him just WASN'T RIGHT. that's how i feel about tom brady. sorry to bring up politics......that's totally not a subject anyone wants to talk about. just an example of my "i don't like you for some unexplained reason" intuition!

yes......thanks! although i have to wait until tomorrow to read it because i'm still in tennessee and on my mom's dial up connection, so pics take forever to load!
Good luck with the drive home Dawn!!!! I hate travelling in crappy weather..it always seems to work out that way though for you..whats with that!? I think the "weather gods" have a GPS on you and want to challenge your driving skills...i don't like it.
FYI i totally felt the same way aout Kerry in 04..except i felt that " something isn't right..." about his wife more than him. she freaked me out.

Have a great day everyone!!1 i had my Biggest Loser weigh in today..another pound..i'll take it ...especially with AF here! There are some big losers though..i was looking at the chart and alot of people have lost close to 3% already..i am at about 2 i think for now...oh well..as long as i lose..i'm in it for much longer than the 6 weeks this contest goes on for...( i say this while eating my munchkins i bought this morning..:lmao: ,,HEY don't judge me..its my "Spike in calories and fat" day ! lol

I think those weather gods with GPS units just want me to get a good workout in the morning. Yesterday they were calling for 2-4 inches of snow. Not bad, I thought. Because of the extreme cold weather, the snow is the really light fluffy stuff. Almost looked fake, like something you can buy in bags at a craft store. Anyway, we went out last night about 8:30 to shovel our driveway, and we had probably 1-2 inches. So I went to bed thinking that I'd be able to get up, just do a quick shovel or even sweep of the driveway, and I'd be good to go. No dice. Those GPS enabled weather gods decided to drop another 6+ inches on us overnight, ensuring that I get my heart rate and metabolism up first thing in the morning. And my cul-de-sac seems to be in a wind tunnel, so I had drifts that were a good foot tall. So instead of taking 20 minutes to do a little light shoveling, I took an hour with the snowblower and shovel to clear myself out; I'm trying to think of a good reason why I built my house so I'd need a driveway that is 3 car lengths long and three cars wide. Not the smartest move ever. But like I said, I got a good workout this morning, so it wasn't all bad.

Have a great day everyone!

OK, Peeps! I need your best peep-like recipes that freeze well. In 4 short weeks I will be having this peeplet and I need to get my freezer stocked with good dinner options so I dont have to rely on DH. It gets scary when I have to do that ;)

I also may end up on very restrictive bedrest, if not admitted to the hospital sooner than later so I need to get cracking! My blood pressure was still up at my appt yesterday and there was trace amts of protein in my urine...so I go back next week where he will make the choice on whether to admit me or not for possible pre-eclampsia or put me on very strict bedrest. (and dont worry, my mom promised to help me get the stuff ready to freeze, I just need some recipes.)

Thanks everyone! I am reading along but havent been remembering to quote. :rolleyes1

Good Morning Peeps!

Fair food weekend. I am getting tired of chicken though and my "inards" are telling me that you can get too much salad ;) That plus Kashi whole grain waffels, whole wheat bread and Kashi Autumn Wheat- well, you get the picture.

I really like fish when I get it at a resturant but I havent been successful in cooking it at home- and everyone else in my family would soon die a thousands deaths that eat a fish or a shrimp- all the nerve-

I am not "susie homemaker" in the kitchen so if anyone has any simple dishes I would be willing to try- mostly in that 30min or less cook time for this working mom.

I decided to let my 11th grader homeschool. She is a good student and an independent worker. But we may have bitten off more than we can chew.
Her classes include Bible (25 questions a month all with scripture references listed), Anatomy (mommy is a nurse- this should be easy), Spanish ( she works at Johnny Rockets and there are 6 cooks from Mexico- built in tutors), OJT (on the job training- she gets a credit for going to work), Fine Art ( she gets a credit for her dance classes) but here is the KICKER!!!

PHYSICS!!- what were we thinking!?!?!? Now DD is excellent at Math- she was the only 10th grader at her school inducted into Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society) last year- but MOMMY DIDNT TAKE PHYSICS IN HIGHSCHOOL OR COLLEGE- not required- not on my list so :scared: I am now a 41 year old physics student:scared:  :scared: I read 1/2 of chapter one- so far so good- I understood most of it- but it just expanded on matter, energy, atomic weight, atomic mass and so on- I didnt try and do the math- Nurses only need simple algebra calculations so thats all my brain can do- Anyway going to be a LONG SEMESTER.... Any suggestions? Any other homeschooling moms out there??? ANY PHYSCISTS, ANY ENGINEERS? Help!!

DANCE Where does time go!! FOUR WEEKS!!!

Sparkie My son and dh love Physics... me not so much!! I know there are help websites out there - in fact I think you may even be able to do online courses!! Good Luck - I'm sure you will be able to find a tutor if worse comes to worse!! So hard to teach yourself - are there any videos? Check the library -

So I hate the fwd emails - but this one made me think of Ali's siggy - Mumba Jumba... and why I'm going back to Disney in 2010 to run the Half Marathon!!

LOVE YA
One morning you will never wake up
Do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week,
and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed,
friendships that needed rekindling, or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends know you love them.

Even if you think they don't love you back,

you would be amazed at what those

three little words and a smile can do.
And just in case GOD calls me home before I see you again......
I LOVE YA!!!
Send this to at least 8 people you love and send it
back to the person who sent it to you..

Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised

Consider my deal done - at least 8 of ya will read it!! ;)

LY/MI
:grouphug:

I didnt meet my goals yesterday, so I have to work that much harder today... *sigh... dd's nose and refusal to take meds - she was so pathetic yesterday... and I have lots of excuses, bottom line. I failed ME....

Hey --

I may be able to help you out some. I have a math degree and took quite a bit of physics in college (one course shy of a minor... didn't finish b/c it was independent study and I already had too many of those...).

:)

I hate days like this. They are having a steak lunch at work today because the plant met its safety goals for the year, and even us office employees get steak for lunch. I’m going to skip it because I’ll be perfectly happy with my healthy turkey sandwich; but I’m not looking forward to all of the questions I’ll get from people about why I’m not joining them. Even the past year, as I've lost weight and managed to keep it off, I haven't been one to deprive myself. So it isn't like I don't indulge myself on occasion. But I just can't bring myself to eating steak and potatoes for lunch in the middle of the week. It just seems so pointless to me. I keep reminding myself of the old adage "a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips". And of course the Peep mantra that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.

WTG Aarron!! WOOHOOTY!!

That's the hardest choice of all - and you MADE a choice to be HEALTHY!!

Stay strong!!

So wrong, first the Packers, then a steak dinner - just know if it was a "good" steak - like at Yachtsman or LeCellier, nice and tender, but know its for the whole plant, so they go and get the most ECONOMICAL steak - so it will lack flavor - you hold out for the good stuff my PEEP!!

I know of where you're coming from - its not been that long since we were in Sheboygan - stay strong!! HANG ON!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!

You HAVE done it!! :woohoo:

Sandy is exactly right! You have done so great Aaron, no need to eat a lousy steak. Save those calories for a GOOD one, on your terms ;)

And I have to say Sandy, you sound SOOOO positive these days. Good for you. I am sure alot of that has to do with what you have accomplished too! I am so proud of you for doing that run...and jealous! Maybe I will be able to do it 2010. I have never been able to truly run, because of the 'twins', but that problem will be remedied soon so I will have no excuse!
:scared1:

Dance- I just went to Costco and got frozen easy family meals. Like lasagna. 4 weeks is coming up!

Aaron- geez, I don't know if I could skip a steak lunch...you are so strong!

That was me with Malorie. I was put on bedrest, I had to do the 24 hour urine catch, YUCK!, the protein in my urine kept getting higher, my blood pressure kept rising. They took malorie 3 weeks early and she was still 7lbs 13oz. If you can make it to week 37, I wouldn't worry.

If I lived near you, I'd bring you dinners. Honestly.

I made a batch of chicken salad for sandwiches. Made a big pot of sauce, all you had to do then is boil noodles; sauce freezes good.

Time to go to a club store and buy a large bad of frozen fajita styled chicken, a large bag of frozen vegetables you like. I'd do stir fry type meals. All you do is take out the portions you need. No chopping, No peeling, just add some healthy type oil and heat in a skillet.

I am no help here. But looks like others can! Good luck!

It's been snowing all day. It's cold so I made chilli.

When it was all said and done, I changed my ressie 3 times, I finally settled on Dec 10-19, 2008 at POR, cancelled the days at CR (it was hard passing up 162.00 a night there. And we are paying 89.40 a night for the first 8, and then 149.00 for the 19th cause that's blocked.

I am sorry we won't be there at the same time but:thumbsup2 on all that $$$ saved! It is worth all the changes. We can not make any changes sine we rented DVC points.

I was hoping to join you guys. I would love to be down to 150 by March. I just started my diet and excerise routine. So the house is currently filled with Lean Cuisines, 100 calorie packs(love the oreo candy bite ones), fruit, and yogurt. And I'm trying to ride at least 5 miles a day on my excercise bike.

I just need a little push to keep me at it.
I hope to join in soon with some negative numbers!!

WELCOME!!!

Yeah, we did not Priceline the hotel, but we did get a pretty good price. I think it was $139 a night for 3 nights. I can't remember for sure, but for the location, view, free wireless internet access, dvd/cd player and sitting area in the room, concierge, and all the other amenities, I was pretty happy with that. Your purse sounds cute! :) And funny that you say that about DH. As you may have guessed, my DH was REALLY trying to make it up to me that we weren't in DL. He felt TERRIBLE and was VERY appreciative that I wasn't mad at him, which is why we went to Wicked, and I got those purses, and why we pretty much went where I wanted to go all weekend. :rotfl: It did help me take my mind off of the situation and move on. And we both ended up having a really good time, and we even had mild weather for Chicago in January.

Welcome home! I am glad you had such a great trip despite the lack of the mouse. Thanks for the mini trip report! The pictures were great. I have never been to Chicago as an adult and would love to go.

This week we lost a total of....31.13 pounds!

Our GRAND 2008 total is 131.83!

Wow! We rock!!
Are you healthy yet!!???

yesterday workout was 25 on arc tainer 15 min ab work, then last night i did legs and shoulders for 1.5 hrs and i did ab torture 3sets8 with 25 lb plate.

but i am proud of me cause i repped 85 lbs on squats...next week i'm shooting for 90, and i deadlifted 70 lbs

Excellent workout!! I am still afraid of the weight room at my gym.

My workout today was fixing our toilet. I had to go back to the hardware store 4 TIMES! What a headache. :headache: Everything is working now, though.

And again I say, Christian Bale is yummy.

Sounds fun...:sad2: Dh tried to replace the inards in ours once and managed to crack the bowl doing so. We made a mad dash to Home Depot at 9:45 at night to buy a new toilet before they closed. We only have 1 bathrrom so it could have gotten really ugly...:scared:

I am in TOTAL agreement about Christian Bale.

Dawn...Montreal is not the place for you today ! I just took my kids to school and it almost hurts to breath outside. The "real feel" (temperature plus wind chill) is -16 degrees (F). It is CRAZY cold. I really don't enjoy cold weather, but if you have the proper clothes on (ski pants/down coat/ good mitts and boots) you really are pretty comfortable.

-16...that is nuts!! I would have to hibernate. I hope you are staying warm.

Oh and since my Cliffie Claven husband left me how do I get the tag removed? any ideas? when it rains it pours!

I am sorry you are having such a rough go of things. I hope things start looking up soon.:flower3:

Hi Peeps. Just a quick fly-by to say that I have returned from the Home Planet and I'm already missing it. Have to say I gained 5 lbs while at WDW. Dang good thing I was only there for a week. This will blow the bottom out of my Valentine's Challenge but I'm going to get very motivated to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Welcome Home!!! 5lbs really isn't such a huge gain for a trip to WDW. It will be gone in no time. Anthing less than 7lbs is great!:thumbsup2

It rhymes with Baco Smell.

Boys are both well enough to go to school. Zach is back to his pre-Christmas weight. Thanks to the flu.

I woke up with a killer sore throat the am.

Baco Smell...:lmao: How appropriate! It is good to hear your boys are feeling better but sorry to hear the opposite is true for you. That bug just loves you and your family. Enjoy the next book. I have not started it yet.

You have a great pespective on the whole situation. The questions do get annoying. It gets harder to be nice the more you are harassed. I just ignore it now. Stay strong!!

Dance, You are almost there! My mom made potato soup and broccoli and cheese soup for us and I froze it in single serving size tupperware. They made nice quick meals for DH and I. My DMIL made pasta sauce for us and that froze really well too. I will try to get the soup recipes for you. Dh is the cook in our house so I was lucky in that department.

Hey there, Peeps! I am feeling a little skinnier today, yes indeedy!! :yay:

I finished New Moon and Eclipse is just staring at me. Taunting me.

I'm reading Eclipse now! I am about 1/3 of the way finished. So far so good! I like it better than New Moon. :thumbsup2

It warmed up here - above zero!

Dance There was a book on making meals 30 days in advance - I googled it and saw this website... http://30daycafe.com/?cat=31
I'm with Uma its all about convenience - make sure you get plenty of fresh veggies, and some prunes... raisins... Also there is this new franchiese called Dinners by Design http://dinnerbydesignkitchen.com/dinner.aspx?f=home I think they are expensive, but not overpriced - extreme convenience - you should see if any are near you!!

Thanks for the ideas! I never thought about the club store stuff I can have on hand....need to make mom go to Costco. I may need some cake from there too, lol. They have the best cake other than homemade.

And soup recipes would be great! I ate alot of that after DD was born and it was super easy to heat and eat and kept me full a while.

Good afternoon! It is also cold here. But, it decided to rain and it has melted almost all of my beautiful snow. Sorry to say I didn't get in my bike ride yesterday. But, I did go shopping. And that burns more calories, right?

Hi all

Not been around as much as I would have liked this week - really bad rain has meant floods, again. Took two hours to get to work on Monday (Normally 20mins) and I was only there an hour before they sent me home as the roads were getting worse and I would have been stranded :headache:

Aaron - Sorry about your team, me and Dfi stayed up on Sunday night to watch both games (Pats on at 9.30pm, Green bay came on at 11.30pm). I thought of you when the commentators said it was -15 degrees! I feel your pain - my adopted team are the New York Jets :scared1: . Dfi very happy though, since being a child he has followed the Pats!
MAPigletfan, he'll be cheering along with you!

Pakey - Glad you had a good holiday!

TootSweet - Hi! I totally got you on the Harry Potter reference - I  Harry!

Sleeping*Beauty - Hi, and welcome! Im new here too but the peeps have really helped me!

DisneyFreak - Glad you enjoyed Chicago, I love to look at the pictures you post of Pete Wentz (Not 100% sure on his name, cutie though!) Ive always wanted to visit Chicago - maybe from years of watching Chicago Hope? Yes, im odd.

:wave2: to everyone else, pixiedust: for those that need it.
