I'll be there! Doing 8:30 cardio class, 9:30 yoga, 4:00 cardio class, and 5:00 strength training class... 3 hours and 45 minutes of sweat and hard work... I can't wait! :yay:

I am soooo jealous. I wish I had that kind of time!! Mr Kat is working days until Thursday so I have to fit my workout in at lunch.

Sandy, I am there, though... 45 min on the elliptical and I will do 100 crunches on the ball when I am done! Maybe I can get Mr Kat to haul out the rollerblades and we can skate a bit when I get home, too.

So, I need to lose about 45 pounds, and I'm having trouble sticking with it. Can I join to get the ummmph that I need from you guys??

Sorry, I didn't read all 1150 pages . . .

Angie

Welcome!!! You don't need to read back, just join right in, we will fill you in on anything that you don't understand. We discuss anything and everything about your life and weight struggle (and BB for some reason? :confused3 )

Weigh-ins are on Fridays, you just post the difference between this week and last week as a big number in bold at the top of your post. If you are uncomfortable or feel bad about your number, you don't even have to do that.

I think we should shout it from the roof tops that we are here for each other. No mind who's who or where you at. or what you might need. I think it all goes to show that none of us feel we can do this alone. Sure you get family and friends involved----but you have to look at them and sometimes its hard being honest with those you know so well.
THAT'S WHY WE'RE HERE!:rotfl:
It's like talking to yourself with someone who cares listening.
Go for it.....go for it all.....Loose weight Laught be happy eat a extra piece of birthday cake.......just keep your eye on the prize and go back to the loosing weight It might not be 50 pounds by december......but it could be 30....and won't you look and feel great??? do it DO IT
WE ALL SHOULD DO IT TOGETHER!

SO WELL SAID!!! :goodvibes

Almost forgot-
I go for my first sonogram today at 10:30 :goodvibes And, Amanda is in VBS all week from 9-12. I get the whole house to myself all morning, all week. Silence. What will I do with myself?! Napping sounds good today ;) I dont know which is more exciting, the possibility of a nap or the sonogram :rotfl:

Good luck!!

I have to go catch up on work since I was in training Friday... hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Peeps! :)

Sorry I was MIA all weekend. Can anyone guess what I was doing? Oh yeah, I was reading Harry Potter! I finished it at 1am this morning! I am TIRED! It was EXHAUSTING! But I am done, which is good because I have much to do this week in preparation for the wedding on Saturday! (For those of you who don't know or remember, I am photographing a very good friend's wedding on Saturday.) So, I don't know how much I will be around this week, but I will try to check in at least. I am SO ready for a break next Sunday! No reading! No wedding prep! Just uploading pics and resting, I hope.

I have no time to catch up right now, and I may not have time later. I hope everyone had a great weekend! :) Welcome to any newbies!

Keep on peepin' on Peeps! ;)

subbing! Hi to eeyore!! I just run into you all over this website huh:goodvibes

 Farrah!! :yay: I'm all over too- its why I rarely find time to read the Pre trip reports - I love the sewing you are doing for the MNSSHP!! Welcome to the Peeps!!

1. WTG Lynda - I'm sure you are nervous, but you are very talented and consientious - I know it will go great!!

2. "keep on pee'in :rotfl2: Had to read that, I was thinking it was a clever way to remind us to DRINK THE WATER!!! :rotfl2:

Guess I need more sleep!!

My contribution for today:

Ed was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds, "AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!"

The next morning Ed got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Ed has been missing since Friday.

>Please pray for him.

That's the only thing that I have that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds!

Kail is really a nice lady I think but she's sheltered. Her comment on the gay housemate was weird about her "not minding gay guys until they put on all their makeup..." or something like that. Made her sound narrow minded...but she likes his heart. :confused3

i know! that comment got to me, too. everyone has a right to their personal beliefs, but it's not our place to judge in my opinion. and i wasn't aware that all gay men wore makeup......who knew! :rotfl: when she said sometimes she forgets he's gay, i looked at ray and said "why does it matter?"

Kail never would we be friends - she is too "A" personality, she runs the town remember?? Her son is a bb watcher and tried to give her a crash course, I think she is trying to play a game - and I know she has "haters" on the outside - but I think she is just human... and she's like my age, like you know what I mean? I think her big mistake was being HOH first, then 2nd trying to get dick OUT - she had no clue his alliances out numbered hers - she thought there were "floaters" in the house, nope, they are all aligned..She screwed up big time as hoh - and her Mrs Robinson Alliance, not sure if its even there - it will take some great manuevering to keep her safe this week!

i agree. i don't like her....she rubs me the wrong way. i really want jen out, but i can live with kail being gone, too.

Jessica - whiney voice blond... nuff said... I have to cover my ears when she talks

if anyone has any doubt about how she sounds, just hold your nose and talk really loudly!

Amber - she is so full of lies, she wouldnt know the truth if it hit her in the ****, but she'll cry about it, beg for mercy and pity... ewww hate that

she cries at EVERYTHING!!!!! ray has gotten to where he just shakes his head whenever she's in diary.

Jen - what she did with that unitard, that red thing!! ROFLOL :rotfl2: check it out on youtube at least people - her mother must be so proud!! (she took it off, put it between her legs, used the feet to wrap around her bum, the arms around her neck to try and cover her ****s!! but BB kept getting great side views of exposed ****s - so it never appeared on TV! and if she says "like" one more time!! :sad2: Jen is safe this week!

i'll have to go check out the unitard thing to have a good laugh.

ED = evel dick - ok, I cant help it, I liked him from the start. Knew he was aligned with his daughter, they were brought for their interviews TOGETHER!! they are not "best of terms" but BB storyline has them as enemies, they are a strong team, make no mistake!! AND he is a bully... he is such a smooth talker, that people like Jameka think he can help push her till the end!!

i like him too. of course he doesn't do everything morally right, but comparitively speaking with the others in the house, he's one of my favs.

Nick - he's the buff weight lifter trying to score with Danielle, but spooning with Dustin... he has problems that shouldnt be exposed on national tv - he has ajob working with kids - I hope they vote him out NOW!! poor kid, he has no idea how is image is coming across...

i'm sure you guys think i'm crazy, but i think it's very sexy when a guy is not afraid to sort of show his feminine side and let the whole i'm-not-gay-i'm-straight-as-an-arrow guard down. now i'm not saying i want ray flirting with other guys by any means! :lmao: i have a top 5 list for both males and females too. but the spooning thing....that may be taking it a bit too far!

Eric - he just comes across as "nice" Dick likes him - but is trying to catch him in a "lie' because Eric is AP - it may trip up Eric! I think he'll freak if he goes up on the block!

he's such a goofball! he reminds me of a friend of mine. anyway, he'll definitely freak if he goes up. i don't know if he can stay cool under pressure.

So, I need to lose about 45 pounds, and I'm having trouble sticking with it. Can I join to get the ummmph that I need from you guys??

WELCOME!!!!!! weigh-ins are on fridays. just post what you've gained/lost (or if you've stayed the same) since last friday. i'm sure you'll love it here!

I've been trying to mark things off my to do list. I've been Christmas shopping online - ordered lots of books! I think I'm nearly finished. Yea!

wow! that's awesome. i thought i was bad. i usually am done by october, but never this early! i'm impressed. :thumbsup2

Glad the trial is over. The mom was involved too? How sad for those girls. Do you know what will happen to them? My friend serves on the board of the Children's Advocacy Center here and there are over 500 kids that go through there each year...most upper, middle class. (It's a sort of one-stop center that sees to the medical, emotional, and legal concerns of children who are sexually abused.)

yeah. the dad was accused of the acts and the mom was accused of knowing about it and not really doing anything. both the girls (8-year-old twins) are now with the maternal grandmother, i think. the mom is getting a new trial because her attorney was an idiot. they were nudists, so it made things VERY complicated. i tend to think to each his own, but when you throw kids in the mix it's a very different situation. the dad was also found with 11 disks on him when he was arrested that contained really disgusting child porn (unknown children). it was the second-most disturbing case i've been involved in.....:sad2:

Almost forgot-
I go for my first sonogram today at 10:30 :goodvibes

let us know what happens!!!

WELCOME!!! OH, and you HAVE to go back and read them all, it's a requirement ;)

Otherwise, it will be very hard to pass the test... :rolleyes1

It may just give me the kick in the butt I desperatly need!! and it may shut my negative mind talk from taking over my brain!!

You do have to give yourself credit for one thing... you may TALK negative, but you actually get up and DO anyway! :cheer2:

It took a day but I finished HP tonight!! Very sad to reach the end and know there isn't anymore. I was right on one of the people I predicted to die but not the others. VERY GOOD!!! You all need to read it!! :thumbsup2

I bought the book on Sat and DS finished it on Sun. Wwe were debating on who should read it first, but really knew he'd read it much faster than me!

I haven't caught up on everything and hope everyone is doing OK.

We have VBS this week and I am in charge of the opening & closing! :scared1: Every year I ask myself why I say I'll do these, but after the first night I know why!! The kids are amazing and it's just fills my heart watching them all singing and praising the Lord! THAT'S why I do it!!! :hippie:

Off to do some work here! I'll try to catch up after VBS!

Ok, I really need this here, I guess I am 17000 or so post behind, maybe one day I will read them all, after I finish reading all those wonderful TRs. :)

But I need all the support I can get. Need to loose about:scared1: ... well a bunch of weight.

Thanks Punkin413, for directing me this way. Taking it 5 lbs at a time.

oh, and I didn't mean to start Christmas shopping yet, but I saw something perfect for my brother and then my sister-in-law mentioned something, and it just sounded like such a good idea to buy things now. They're things they won't buy for themselves and if I wait I won't remember what it was that was such a great idea. I'm not entirely finished but definitely a good start!

What happened to the thread? Is everyone out exercising with Dene???

Did everyone consume their 8 glasses of water??? :wizard:

AnnNan - I too start aquiring "stuff"... early and often!! :rotfl2:

Hey peeps....just checking in. The appointment went fine, only one baby ;) It honestly looks more like a duck in the picture though:goodvibes

100_6769.jpg

Anyways, the heart was beating away on the screen and that makes it seem so much more real to me. 140 beats per minute-right on the border for the old wives tale to help determine the gender. "They" say over 140 means girl and under 140 means boy. It was right with my daughter, but who knows!

Hope everyone had a good day!

It was wrong on all 3 of my DDs!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seeing as you think the baby looks like a duck may I suggest Daisy or Donald for the baby's name?

SOOOOOO COOL!!! :) glad it went well.

i don't remember who suggested this, but today at the gym i decided to pick up 25 pounds (since i've lost 24) and just kinda walk around with it. it was amazing!!!! i can't believe i've lost that much weight. it doesn't seem like that much until you do that!

OK I'm warning you all right now that i am quoting back to the days I was on vacation, so if that bugs you, skip my longish post.

First of all, I missed some birthdays, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to dawn, Stacey and Cheryl.

I think I am going to start journaling my food again. I know I am not trying to lose since I am pregnant, but I read that I only need an extra 300-500 calories so I think I am going to shoot for adding that to my daily intake. If I take my current weight, multiply by 12 that will give me my 'maintain this weight' calorie number, right calorie gurus? Then I should add 300-500 calories, make sense? I just really want to be sure I am not using this as an excuse to eat with abandon.
Journaling seems to be my best tool for controlling my weight. Go for it. I did the WW maternity program when I was pregnant w/DD, and ended with a net gain of 27lbs, as opposed to the 60 lbs. I gained w/DS. Not spectacular, but I was able to get to my lowest weight by DD's first birthday, a weight I thought I'd never see. So write it down and do your best. It also gives you a chance to make sure you are getting all the things you and baby need (calcium, leafy greens, protein, folic acid, etc).

I drank 128 ounces of water today, woohoo!!! I heard somewhere that your supposed to drink your body weight in water each day- anyone heard about this?? :confused3

You have to take your body weight, divide it in half and that's the amount of water you should drink per day. For each 30 minutes of exercise you do, add another 8 oz.

When I read these, I thought, "I hope they mean 1 oz. per lb!" Otherwise, I'd just have to sit on the pot drinking from the garden hose all day.:rotfl:

The first plane was a commuter jet- I though "jet" meant they were all the big ones- NOT!!! I had to go outside and climb up about six steps to get on the plane, duck under the overhead baggage thing (i'm only 5 feet even) but the kicker was when the pilot asked 3 people to move from the front of the plane to the back because we were OUT OF BALANCE  and couldnt take off until the weight was more evenly distributed. Now I've seen what my washer does when it is out of balance. Add that to one thunderstorm and :wizard: smooth flight- :rolleyes1 DH held my hand and talked me through it. Coming home- I started getting nervous the night before- the plane was bigger but it was raining again- no hives and hyperventilating the second time and the tears only lasted 15 min instead of 45 min.
Those are the kind of planes we fly on to Los Angeles. Last year, a lady got on, and was the most obnoxious passenger. She starts screaming, "It's like a tin can!" Then she gets on the cell phone after takeoff, (a definite no-no) and tells her friend that she's super-nervous, but she took some valium and had a couple of drinks before takeoff:scared1: . I just prayed that someone else knew CPR, because if she overdosed, I didn't think I could keep her heart going for the hour flight.

Welcome to all the new folks.

Didn't start to gain any weight until I went to college, and became a slug. (it's true - I really did! I went to University of California at Santa Cruz and their mascot is the banana slug.

Go Slugs! DS just finished his freshman year at UCSC.

I have a confession....I have been a bad peep. Even for a pregnant one. I had a McD's hot fudge sundae today at lunchtime. Then after dinner, we went to dairy queen. I ate a medium butterfinger blizzard :rolleyes1 Hey, on the upside, at least I got in my calcium today...right??

When I was pregnant w/DS, the nutrition book the dr. gave me said you had to eat 1 1/2 c. of ice cream to equal the calcium in 1 c. nonfat milk. It didn't say you SHOULD eat that much ice cream, but I used it as an excuse. If you look earlier in this post, you see what that got me! That being said, a 1 day splurge shouldn't do you much harm.

I did have a success this week that I'm sure y'all will appreciate. I usually leave a department store depressed because nothing fits right. Either the shirts are too tight, too baggy, or the sleeves are so dang long that they look like 3/4 sleeves. For as long as I can remember, I've been in an XL. But just on a whim, I decided to try on a large. And much to my excitement, IT FIT!!! :woohoo: And not just in an "if I suck in my gut and wear a girdle all day, I might be able to pull this off" sort of way. It actually fit, to the point that I could sit down and not have the buttons start popping open. I could hardly contain my excitement. But since the two stalls on either side of me were occupied, I limited it to a few fist pumps. I think this is the sort of motivation that I needed to get back on my losing ways.

Wooo Hoootie

Last year, I had made Weight Watchers Lifetime and was at that point 115 pounds -- stopped going to meetings because I was running (training for the Disney Goofy Challenge) and was losing way too much weight to stay with Weight Watchers.....kept off the weight until about February 2007, when I got in a car accident -- at least that's what started the downward spiral.

Jodi

Welcome Jodi. I just wanted to say that WW gives you a healthy range of weights, so I hope you take that to heart. Someone in our family has had to deal w/an eating disorder, narrowly escaping having to be hospitalized, so I worry when I see someone who is losing too much to stay w/ WW.

You know, I was talking to some coworkers between two of the talks. One of the guys is extremely overweight, probably 400 or so at 5'10, and in his 40s. He has severe sleep apnea (has to wear one of those machines), heart problems, etc., and breathes like he is snoring. So, they asked me where I was at lunch... they all know about the diet, of course. I said the food was nothing I could eat so I went home. One of them, who is thin, asked me what I had and I told him, and the other guy chimes in, "I had lasagna, and <insert litany of fattening foods here>..." like he was bragging and I thought, gee, that really isn't anything to brag about!
My sis and i both struggle constantly to achieve a healthy weight, but we've discussed it, and realize that, if we do nothing, we could easily see ourselves ending up like this. And when we were at DL, there were a few people I wanted to invite to join the Peeps, honestly in a loving, sympathetic way, not a judgmental way, but I knew that people just have to find their own path. Plus, I would have had to ditch the corndog to have any kind of credibility!:lmao:

Glad you're back! I've been worried and calling for you. I guess I forgot you were on vacation....again. (I'm just jealous.) RE: the cute kitties....do you think DL feeds them or do you think they sneak out at night and eat leftover food? I just worry because we found our kitty in the parking lot at Target. An employee told me there were lots of feral cats living around the dumpster, etc. And she is an alley cat through and through. Anyway....DD and I looked at your pictures together and I said "What a pretty Snow White" and DD said...She's not white enough. Can DL forbid Snow White to tan?
I don't think they get fed. I think that they are like farm cats, eating mice and other pests, and hopefully a slow-moving pigeon or two (I'm so NOT a pigeon fan). And the white cat was really shy, but so beautiful. She had the bluest eyes. A little spooky, like a ghost kitty. You can just barely see her next to the other kitty.

Punkin- Your post about the abusers just breaks my heart. I hate to think how people can hurt children and others turn a blind eye like that.

Hey peeps....just checking in. The appointment went fine, only one baby ;) It honestly looks more like a duck in the picture though:goodvibes

What, no triplets? Well, anyway, that's a happy day when you get the sonogram. Seeing the heart beat is truly awe-inspiring.

Prayers and good vibes for all. I spent most of the afternoon catching up, after riding the stationary bike and reading the first chapter of the new "Hairy Potty" as they call him in Capt. Underpants. I'm trying to savor it, but can't wait to get back to it (the book, not the bike).

Danielle - Thanks for the belated birthday wishes and for quoting some of the highlights! I have been away for a while and it is good to see some of the things I missed without reading all the way back.

Stacey - Belated Happy Birthday to you! I did read back a few pages, but looks like I missed it.

Wow, lots of new people who I didn't realize were here!

Did anyone else see this thread? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1525468

Is she talking about this thread or is there another one that is referred to as Peeps??!

First, a Belated but Very Happy Birthday to you!! I don't think I wished you one on your actual day. :goodvibes

And I just saw that thread! And thought the same thing...hmmmm.
