:yay: :yay: :yay: for moving day! Congratulations! I know you'll be happy to get into the new house!
I'll be SO excited if someone else can benefit from my experience re: the passports. I hope she gets it in time!!!

I was thinking about you and your passport situation too! My mom's boss (and friend) had a family vacation planned to Costa Rica. His wife and kids all got their passports...somehow his never arrived even though they were ordered at the same time :confused3 Anyway, his oh so considerate wife and kids are now in Costa Rica on their family vacation while he is stuck here.

first thing's first: i'm skipping weigh-in today. am i a rebel or what? pirate: i had a terrible day yesterday and i just don't feel like worrying about the numbers today. i've never skipped before, so i'm taking a freebie today. i'll be back on the wagon on monday. yesterday was horrid. i had a fair dismissal hearing (any teachers here will know what that is) yesterday that started at 9:00 and ended at 11:45 p.m......:scared1: i was so exhausted when we got done. imagine whispering in a mask for 14 hours straight. sounds fun, right???? to add to that they decided to order in dinner last night instead of giving us a dinner break and our choices were hamburger and fries or......hamburger and fries. so my calorie count yesterday was blown. plus they had cookies. at that point i didn't care and ate 3. i haven't eaten 3 cookies since christmas. :sad2: plus this morning i woke up with the worst cramp i've ever had in my calve muscle. so i'm just not dealing with weigh-in today after my day from hades!!!

secondly, harley, here's my friend's response to your question about losing the fat from your arms:

Dawn, tell the woman from the forum that I said "thank you" for the comment about my arms. Also, let her know that I once had a layer of fat that covered my muscles too. She said that she wanted to "lose the fat in her arms" well, when it comes to fatty tissue you can't 'spot treat', meaning that you cannot reduce the fat in just one area. Fatty tissue is an overall composition. Your body puts it on where it wants and takes it off where it wants to according to your specific genetics. The only way to lose that layer of fat is to have a calorie deficiency. A calorie deficiency comes from either reducing the amount of calories that you intake each day or from burning off more calories than you are taking in. I believe in ''eating clean'', drinking a lot of water, lifting weights at least 3 times a week and adding a few days of cardio training. Good luck, and congrats on the muscles that you have already built!

hope everyone has pretty numbers today! i'm off to play catch-up.

I have no scale here this morning
But I will wiegh-in later tonight and hopefully all this soccer soreness and walking has paid off this week- that and skipping all chips, sweets and junk food for hummus, crackers, and cottage cheese! lol! ;)

Other than that- Good morning to all and good luck to all!

I'm down 3.2 pounds! woo!

And all my coworkers, family and friends know I'm a disney freak and know I have "imaginary" friends I'm meeting in September.
It just makes me more quirky.

OKay - so life in Harleyland is like this...busy,busy and busy tossed with a whole lots of stress and heartache.

 to you, harley. and my prayers are with your friends, your puppy and you!!!

Punkin I so hope that you and your friend get to stay with us. I need someone I will be able to understand :rotfl: JK!

:lmao: seriously!!! i'm sure i'm totally saying tara's name wrong when i've spoken to her on the phone. i just can't get it in my head that it's not "terra," but "TARa"!!!

Tomorrow is my endoscopy, so think good thoughts for me please! I'll weigh in the morning, but I don't know if I'll have time to post or not. If not, I'll post it as soon as I can.

prayers and pixie dust being sent your way!!!

And THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for all the warm welcomes everyone!

sorry i wasn't around yesterday, but here's a late WELCOME for you!!! :)

oops! UP 1

I did my usual- started losing and gave myself permission to eat. Back on track this week. I gotta be good the week before vacation cause we all know that Disney food is CALORIE FREE!!:rotfl: :wizard:

Oh, I bought my first pair of crocs. I resisted as long as I could. But I was goofing off in the yard and slipped my daughters on- Heaven on my feet. You all know that I have that plantar foot thingy- Saw the doc, got a shot, spent $320 for shoe inserts- I was good with the shot for about a week or two. My shoe inserts came in and I wore them for about an hour and my feet were worse than ever so I've been hobbling(sp?) along and eating motrin. But lo and behold crocs have come to my rescue. My right foot still hurts sometimes but not like it did. IT'S A MIRACLE!! And I dont even care if I have clown feet.;)

And by the way- I sucked the tummy in while I was typing. Great idea. I try and remember to suck it in at the traffic lights, when watching TV, on hold on the phone- well you get it- every little bit helps. I work in scrubs which dont do much to remind you to keep your tummy under control so I gotta help the tummy remember.

Well, off to take my nap. I have been enjoying coming home from work, napping officially in the bed for a while then going over to mom's and napping on a pool float :cool2: Just call me spoiled rotten. Have a great day everybody!

aw Sparkie I feel your foot pain... btdt... crocs are AmaZING, I dont have to use a cane to walk - the shot wasnt worth it for me either!! and for the inserts, you really must break them in very slowly - build up wearing them slowly... after of course ONE YEAR of wearking crocs!!

Seriously, I wore crocs for a year - no dresses at church, pants with crocs... but I could walk with no pain... and I've tried different style of crocs - stick with basic crocs, and the flip flop crocs - forget maryjanes, they're cute, stylin crocs... but not so great with the pain..

Now, after a year of crocs, I can get by with an hour or two in "normal" shoes, running shoes with inserts (that I had to so slowly build up resistance to)

Good Luck - everyone is different!!

Harley I agree (of course) with the trainer... also take comfort in looking at Kelly Ripa's arms - she is so muscular (huge hours with a trainer for a magazine cover/ Shape I think) BUT I still look at her underarms and Oprah's - :confused3

Now, I've had good luck with this simple exercise...

stand up, feet shoulder width apart. Hands straight behind your back - Palms UP... now rais those hands up a lil higher... keep them as high as you can... thumbs - bring them close together, slow steady movements back and forth - it must be SLOW movements.... you must keep your arms up as high as you can... you must keep your POSTURE STRAIGHT, tUMMY SUCK IT IN... after each movement to the thumb and back, think can I get these arms higher?

I reccommend no more than 25 the first two days, then 50 for the rest of the week, building up to 100 a day...

Now, if you really want to test which muscles you are working - go ahead, do 100 right now... and tomorrow you will not be able to raise your arms - but you will feel where the muscles you are working are exactly... talk about pain!!

I love Kelly Ripa! :)

Down 1.5 At pre-weigh on Wednesday it was down 2, but we had no A/C at work yesterday and I am retaining water like crazy.

I'm taking a bye this week and not wieghing in. I know I gained from my trip to Disney. I think we should have a policy that we don't weigh in the week we return from Disney!
I second that!!!!! Hencetoforth, we the dispeeps shall have one freebie week free from weigh in after returning home from Disney vacations!!!

Lexmelinda, you need to change my weight loss for thsi week! It's-snot 5.4....it's 8.0 pounds!!!!!!
I ate 1700-1800 calories per day, drank a carpload of water, and exercsiced, and took myalli each meal that had any fat in it! It is amazing. Don't worry, I will NOT eat above 15 grams of fat per meal ith that! Dont want to have the treament effects...for reals! I had NONE.

My BFF I've known sincekindergarten is visiting from Boston this week and I don't have the internet for some doofy reason. This is her laptop...wireless internet pillaged from a neighbor??? Last night I used my DS18's and it was slower than dial-up, so I only managed the one post. Glad you saw it Lexy! I was worried no one would be there for weigh-in recording.

Have a fabulous week peeps!!! I'm missing ya toadilly! I'll be back to normal with the internet as soon as my DH has time to fix it. I did all the normal fixes but still nothing!

I ... it is finally moving day!!! We do our final walk through of the house Thursday afternoon, and the movers are coming Friday morning with all of our stuff.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and relaxing 4th of July holiday!

:cool1: WooHooty for moving day!!! And by the way, where have you been lately???

I keep trying to suck my tummy in but it won't stay that way!!!! Maybe I need some duct tape....................:rotfl2:

:cool1: WELCOME and CONGRATULATIONS! glad you're joining us - someone with better memory will post what number many of us posted a "get to know you" q and a!

WELCOME HOME!! Missed you around here!

OH my gosh - this was me YESTERDAY (and it was all Melinda's fault!! One of the teacher's didnt get her passport ( her dh and baby did and all applied at the same time - they're to go to Scotland for his family) "I have this friend in Ky.... call your legislature... and my friend found out if they give you a tracking # you need to.... because that's what happened to my friend"... :rotfl2: am I a dork?

:rotfl2: oh dear Pixie, I'm sorry, I am picturing a necklace of oysters, shells... did you eat the innards and then string them? and I think I must get tattooed in Disney!! ;)
WELCOME BACK - we missed you too!!

and forgive me peeps - I know I should comment, and remember stuff... know you are important - without you, where would I be?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Just reread my post.:rotfl2: :rotfl: meant to say we had the pearls from inside the oysters made into necklaces! Though we go to Cape cod next weekend and I'm sure DDs will buy some necklaces made out of shells!:rotfl:

I am -1. With AF as a visitor and my cheat weekend and lackluster exercise week, I am somewhat okay with this.

Hey all! I only have a few minutes. I am off for my procedure! But I wanted to post my weigh in. I am at 221 (.6 down from my pre-WDW weight! :woohoo: ). I can't remember what I weighed in at last week! OOPS! I THINK it was 222.6? Anyway, put me down for -1.6 lbs. Total loss so far of 29 lbs!

Great job Lynda, I am exactly at the same loss number, 29. I started at 218 and am now 189.

UM, WOWOWOWOW!!! :woohoo: Alli really works I guess!! If I spent that much on a weight loss drug DH would kill me, though.

punkin, sorry you had such a bad day yesterday.

I really need to buckle down on this diet, I want to hit 170 by PEEP meet time. I have lost 8 lbs this month but it is seeming agonizingly slow.

I think I need to eat more and exercise more... I have been under 1200 cals and I think I should be doing more like 1200-1500. Exercise is M-45 of cardio, T-15 of cardio and 30 of weights, W-60 of cardio/hockey, Th-45 of cardio, F-15 of cardio, 30 of weights. Starting the 12th, I think I am going to switch my Thurs cardio to 2.5 hours of hockey (a clinic then a pickup game).

-5!! I am so not sure what I did this week, but apparently it worked. I am now -30 lbs from the very beginning! :cool1: Tomorrow is going to be a cheat day -- have to go to a wedding and won't have much choice of what to eat.

UM -- I've been having computer problems too... laptop keeps shutting itself down - drives me NUTSO!

Tomorrow is my endoscopy, so think good thoughts for me please! I'll weigh in the morning, but I don't know if I'll have time to post or not. If not, I'll post it as soon as I can.

 I am thinking about you today. Wishing you :wizard: fairy dust and happy thoughts.

And THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for all the warm welcomes everyone!

I'm a day late and a dollar short, but :welcome: !!!

Have a happy weigh in day y'all!
MJ

:yay: :yay: :yay: for moving day! Congratulations! I know you'll be happy to get into the new house!
I'll be SO excited if someone else can benefit from my experience re: the passports. I hope she gets it in time!!!

I was just talking to Dh about possible taking the kids to Europe sometime. None of us have ever been. He said ok but we can't plajn that trip for about 6 years. I asked why so long and he said "it will take that long to get the passports, if we apply right away....remember your invisible3 friend's daughter?":rotfl:

Down 1.5 At pre-weigh on Wednesday it was down 2, but we had no A/C at work yesterday and I am retaining water like crazy.

Dont forget the Lemon + warm water trick to help get rid of retained water!! (why it works is beyond me.. cold water with lemon is refreshing and has some effect - but really warm, almost hot water + juice of a lemon works wonders -)

WOOHOOTY UMA and what is going on with all our laptops/internet service??? Seriously, this one also shuts down... or even more frustrating, I'll be posting, and suddenly up pops a microsoft window/message saying there's a yada yadayadayada*yawn* hit one of 3 choices send report debug or cancel... any of which you click on the whole thing goes blank - and then up pops a new window... very frustrating!!

Waist Whiddler Exercise - everybody!!

:cool1: WooHooty for moving day!!! And by the way, where have you been lately???
I've been MIA. One of the worst things about moving back in with my parents is that they only have dialup internet. It is painfully slow, so the only time I have a chance to keep up with things here is the few minutes a day I get at work to putz around online. So hopefully after next week I can contribute a little more to the conversation (assuming there are some non-female specific topics, of course).
