DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

I think the encouragement you provide each other is wonderful. Do you check in daily with what you eat?
We've got all sorts of different methods on here. There are some that report what they ate and their total caloric intake. Others only post the bad, like "I had a whole pizza and a tub of Ben and Jerry's last night" (my own personal pre-weight loss story). And some, like me, only come around here occasionally during the week to offer their own (in my case male) perspective on things and on Friday's to record their weekly progress. So what I’m trying to say is, whatever works for you, then that's what we want you to do! We'll be here to support you no matter what method you like the best.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. I really need to lose this weight and I think it will be easier if I know I have to report my progress weekly. I have always been heavy, but a series of family problems caused me to gain an enormous amount of weight (I'm a comfort eater).

In 2004, I went to the doctor and my blood pressure was really, really high and he wanted me to have gastric bypass. I had heard all of the horror stories about the risks of that surgery plus all of the post-surgical issues so I told him I wanted to try it myself. It took me a year, but I lost 60 pounds out of the 120 I needed to lose. I hit a plateau and got frustrated and gave up.

I have maintained the same weight since the loss but haven't really been motivated to lose the rest I need. However, my wonderful husband has promised to take me on the shopping trip of a lifetime if I am successful.

Well, to be truthful I think I fell off the wagon. Lynda was great at posting her daily foods and Melinda I believe suggested calorieKing and posted daily calories (as did a few others) Uma does southbeach - but just found this business that lets you come in and makea week (or more?) worth of food to freeze... Weight Watchers? a couple here are doing that... Allisomeone is going to try that... Celery had surgery (anyone else?) ALL are encouraging to each other!!

I guess that gets boring! I'm trying to limit calories and portions - and increase exercise. Dh dangled a WDW trip if I'd run the half marathon... (*ahem someone thought the family fun run 5K would be a great meet - dh and I believe a 5K is just a good day shopping or a day in the parks for me! :rotfl: I do need a challenge, and the half is that!!) I've given up - so often...

I'm great for 2 weeks... and that's it. Then I feel guilty, or morose... and then I start up again. This thread has kept me honest to myself - so that's what I mean take what you need - and give what you can - we all learn from each other!

Back probably 100 pages we did intros - does anyone remember what page?

I did a little poking around (who feels like working on a Friday afternoon anyway?), and found it on page 968. I'm actually glad you brought that up, because I enjoyed going through and re-reading those.

Down 1 ! Total of 7 now

WIDisneyFan: I really like your take on the weight loss thing. I am loosing at a slower rate it seems. A half a pound here and there when you look at it individually can get depressing but looking at the bigger picture that even and half a pound a week I will be 26 pounds lighter in a year- I can live with that.

Dance: The dress is beautiful!

:yay: We leave for Disney in 2 weeks :yay: I know my 7 pounds will be in danger- So I'll have to be really good when I get home. We are going to be there for 10 days and we usually do each park at least twice and throw in a water park day and Disney Quest- We also plan to come back to the hotel in the heat of the day for a nap and a swim. And of course Eat and Eat and Eat some more. We have ADR's at whispering caynon, CRT, Chef Mickey, Hoop, Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Capt Jacks, Sci-Fi, 50's primetime, Donald's Breakfast and Concourse steakhouse- see my 7 pounds are really in danger.

Welcome OKW:

I've tried alot of diets and have bought most of the diet products off the TV infomercials- some successful and some barely got out of the box. I did have success with WW and then I got bored, I did have success of 30 pounds with diet pills(Adipex-phentermine) but alas a quick fix to a long term problem. Right now I'm being most successful with eating what I want but just less of it. Also, I work night shift and my 3am lunch has been an issue- I am avoiding cheeseburgers and fries from the grill and calling this meal a "snack" instead of a meal that way I mentally dont think I should eat as much plus it helps that alot of my coworkers are now doing WW and are not tempting me with FRIES!! Now if I could just get rid of the KIDS and all their food temptations;)

I also wanted to say CONGRATS!!! 60 pounds is quite an accomplishment. I know you can make it all the way. :woohoo:

Thank you - I read the first couple and I will read more of them this weekend as I have time.

Melinda Whoooohooooo on 1500 posts

Down 1.5 which would be great if I hadn't gained 3 last week and wasn't heading down to my DSis' and San Diego tomorrow. San Diego has so may fabulous restaurants, it's a crime. I'm planning on having something big and lime green and frosty at the Casa Bandini. That'll give my kids something to laugh at.

OK, just have to post my weigh in info. Not much time today. I am gonna be BUSY at work, and then DH and I are taking Jasper out to the fair tonight. So I won't be being very Peep-like tonight. This is my one night to have fair food. I was there Wednesday night, and I didn't eat anything! So, tonight is my night.

I am down 3.4 this week. Total loss of 27.8, so I get back my 25-lb ribbon...as soon as I have time to change it! Have a great day Peeps! :)

Just hang onto that ribbon. Don't let the fair food take it away from you.:cutie:

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.

Welcome to the club. It seems like everyone forgot to tell you the initiation. You need to post a picture of you in a bathing suit. We all did it. If you go through all the posts I'm sure you'll see them ;)

Good for you!!!! Some of us give a daily accounting of our points or calories. It's up to you! I think it's fun to see what everyone is eating! Sometimes i just post my cheats...confession!

I didn't lose any this week! I was kind of disappointed because I thought I was on the verge of a loss after starting a new workout, but maybe in the next few weeks.

I always like the books more than the movies. I think especially with characters that I really like I feel like I have my own idea of how they should be and when I see someone elses interpretation of it, it just isn't right. I am glad that your DD liked it.:thumbsup2
It looks like they made ND look kind of dorky, I think Sandy said naive. I always liked the books and ND was anything but that. I just think they could have held her a little truer to character even if they did move her into the new millenium.

So, for those following the dress drama 2007, she was told by the tailor that i would be ready for a fitting by 2 at the latest and when she called at noon it was ready. So we drove across town and she put it on....and this is what I saw:
(notice the dork in lime green in the back on the rt taking the pic ;)
whew!!! I'm so glad the dress is fixed - and beautifully too!!

Samer!home to clean and pack...have a great day everyone!!! :goodvibes
Have a great time! Anybody else leaving? Pixie is there, right?!

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.
Congrats on your loss so far - and I saw later you've plateaud but kept the 60 pounds off - that's great! Glad to have you. Any specific tips about how you lost the first 60?

Stayed the Same!!! :headache: Sorry I have'nt been on much lately. We leave next weekend for 6 days and I've been busy getting everything ready for the trip. We're going to Pigeon Forge and staying thru the 4th of July holiday.
Melinda- I'll be going through Lexington and will be thinking of you. Our first stop will be in New Haven at the KY Railroad Museum to see Thomas the Tank Engine. It's our big surprise for our boys. They know that we are going to TN but have no idea that they will be taking a ride on Thomas. My youngest son is the Thomas fan and I've made him a gift pack with everything Thomas including a Thomas diecast, coloring book, reading book,
2 tee-shirts, & stickers.
Sounds like a little boy's dream trip! And pretty fun for anybody else too!

Just remember, if you can manage to lose one pound a week for a year, you'll be down 52 pounds. 1.5 pounds a week, and we're talking 78 pounds! Now, that doesn't seem so bad, does it?
He makes a pound or so a week sound pretty good! It has taken me sixteen months to lose 20 pounds! I keep telling myself if I take it off as slow as I put it on and only make changes I can live with permanently then I won't ever gain back what I lose! I hope that's right!

I promise to hop right back up on the wagon on Sunday!
I really think that is the biggest key! Nobody's perfect - as long as we hop right back on the wagon we'll be fine. There is nothing wrong with a treat as long as we don't let it become a detour! I just think that is a hard mind set to live with. It is so much easier to slide the other way. "I messed up this meal so I might as well take the whole day off!" and then the week, etc. A lot of you know how that story goes. I'm finally beginning to turn that corner.

intros - does anyone remember what page?
someone said page 968, and I also had bookmarked some on page 853 at post #12790 starting with LexMelinda!

Hope everyone has some fun planned for the weekend! I'm cleaning - I think I've already had my fun, and now I have to recover from it! The girls I work with were talking about upcoming trips, days off, etc. and I was feeling left out. I don't have anything planned. They pointed out I've already had two big trips this year - maybe I don't get anymore for awhile! :rotfl2: I hope they'll let me out by the end of the year.

That's a little scary!! :scared1:

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.
:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome!!!

We'll have to have a mini-meet since we are so close. Maybe at the Buffalo Zoo on a Wed when I am off. My GS has never been and it is about time I take him! :cutie:

Sounds good to me!!

Cleaning is almost done..I am going to leave the bathroom until tomorrow AM b/c DH will just mess it up shaving tomorrow. Smells nice and clean in here!! :goodvibes I wish there were more to do..maybe I will make myself go to bed early so tomorrow comes quicker!! ;)

I will try to check in tomorrow otherwise I will talk to all you Peeps on the 2nd!!! :cloud9:

SHE'S BACK!!!

My baby is back safe and sound! 24 hours past due....but she's here!

The only thing harder than letting her go was waiting for her to get back home safely.

Heavy sigh.

Now watching School of Rock with DS.

And for those about to rock....I salute you.

Heh.

Oh Melinda - Hip Hip HOORAY!! never saw school of rock... :rolleyes1 We're watching Family Channel and The Rookie, DH is explaining how its like The Velveteen Rabbit and Toy Story!!! (we are weird!!)

Just watched Bridge to Terabithia (sp) and lets jsut say I cried like a baby. I usually do not cry, but I guess when you loose a childhood friend it makes everything different when you watch shows about that.

Have a good night everyone.

picturesect018jayedynedit.jpg
well goodnight all.

GOOD MORNING!:sunny:

So DD arrived home last night and spent about an hour here before she was back out the door with her boyfriend. She did squeeze me very tight a few times and told me that she loved me and missed me. I'll take it.

Her boyfriend is leaving in the morning and will be gone for a month! :yay: He's a nice kid but I like having her around the house. Sue me.
We are going to Orange Beach, Alabama.
My neighbors have been to Orange Beach several times and love it there. How far is that for you? 3 hours?
At 3am this am I decided that mini oreos really do not count as they are not afull cookie!
Oreo math!! You crack me up, Brigitte! That'll teach ya! I'm just glad you can eat that stuff now.
I am down 3.4 this week. Total loss of 27.8, so I get back my 25-lb ribbon...as soon as I have time to change it!
:yay: :yay: :yay: LYNDA! Good job! When is your endoscopy? I thought you said on a Friday?
If anyone has any new food finds or really good meal ideas please share!
You have very good quoting memory!! Very good!! My new best friend is the Kraft Lite 3-Cheese Ranch. Celerystalker told us about it and she was right! Very good!
I think the encouragement you provide each other is wonderful. Do you check in daily with what you eat?
:welcome:
I hope you will make yourself at home here. Post often so we can get to know you. People are using lots of different methods to lose weight but the common thread here seems to be water and fiber....and lots of it. Here is the formula I used. Glad you're here!
Yummm.....Sparkie! I know you're excited!

Thanks, Jo! Your pre-trip is at the top of my CP subscription list all the time! I have been lurking but am totally intimidated by the post count (at Tracy's too!) and never have time to read back. I like your itinerary BTW! Can I make a fly-by post without reading back???
heading down to my DSis' and San Diego tomorrow.
Danielle....you go on all the fun weekend trips. I'd love to go to San Diego! Have a great time! You deserve a rest.
They pointed out I've already had two big trips this year - maybe I don't get anymore for awhile! :rotfl2: I hope they'll let me out by the end of the year.
It does stink when everyone else is headed out the door and you know you have to wait. What's your next big trip, Nancy???
I wish there were more to do..maybe I will make myself go to bed early so tomorrow comes quicker!! ;)
:yay: :yay: :yay: It's finally here! Have a GREAT time, Tara!!!

never saw school of rock
You MUST rent School of Rock! If you like Jack Black (which we do!) and 70's & 80's rock....you'll love it! It's a very cute story line about a substitute teacher who forms a band. You're not trying to form a band in any of your sub. classes are you Sandy? Anyhoo.....DS also loves Nacho Libre.
Just watched Bridge to Terabithia (sp) and lets jsut say I cried like a baby.
I ALWAYS cry at movies and this one was no exception. I thought it was a good adaptation of the book. All the fantasy creatures made it a little more exciting for the kids.
my DD danced tonight at our city festival and almost had to do a solo (which she would have loved) out of at least 10 girls 2 only showed but she rocked (had to share that with ya'll)
What a beauty!!! She looks absolutely precious! I know you are very proud of her! :cutie:

EVERYBODY CHECK IN TOMORROW....THERE IS A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!!!

Spongie - Your daughter (and her roses!) are beautiful!

pigget - I haven't seen bridge to teribethia yet, but the book has always made me cry. My 4th grade teacher read it to us and it has stuck with me ever since.

Morning all! I was wide awake at 5:45 this morning. If it's a weekday, I can't get out of bed until 7. What's up with that? :confused3

Yes, Orange Beach is only about 3 ours away. WE started planning last night, since I leave late tonight and won't be back until eraly Friday mroning. Just getting some lists together. Can you tell I am a plannner.

Off to get stitches out. THen I hit the ground running for most of the day. If I do not make it back on before I leave I hope that everyone has a great week.

That movie is really funny!! We went to see it as a free screening when we lived in CA. and I kept telling everyone for weeks how funny it was.
And for those about to rock....I salute you. :rotfl:
