Belle-Are you coming to the Peep Meet? If so you need to change your ticker. I hope you are!!! :cloud9:

I may have convinced another Peep to come..she lurks on my TR...twob4him. She is leaving for her trip tomorrow! I told her I had room at OKW for her if she doesn't mind sharing the room with Sparkie and I.

No, I wish I could though! :goodvibes I should take off my old ticker anyway since my trip is over. You guys are going to have a blast!:yay:

I am glad that your pony is doing better and that your friend is back to take care of him. :)

I love the Home Depot Disney colors! It makes painting a lot more fun!

OT--I had mentioned earlier today that older DS fell at church and hit his haed pretty hard on a corner of a chair. He had to get three stitches over his eye and that is fine, but he is just not acting like himself. He is just tired and hasn't eaten much. When he did eat at supper it was very little and now he is sick to his stomach. Do you think this could all be related? We have never had a head injury before so I do not know what to think. Thanks for the advice.

Could he have a mild concussion? Or it could be the pain medication?? I can't take vicodin or codeine without getting sick. :confused3

I hope he feels better soon regardless.

I'd call the doctor and check. Sounds like maybe he has a concussion!

I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to make the Peep Meet. I have no idea who is going now? I think a lot of Peeps have had to cancel due to financial reasons. Some have even left the thread so I bet they're out too! I was trying to find out who is still going so Aries can update the Ohanas ADR but not many Peeps check the Meet thread (hint, hint! ;) )

And of course DH decides to pick a fight with me. Gee...now is the time to do that. I am fuming at him, but too tired to argue. That is pretty sad! He just knows the buttons to push and the things to pick on to really set me off and he did. Now I am tearing up again....sorry. Rambling post over....

 sounds like he caught a case of menareputz this evening. :sad2:

My Ray would have thrown up..he can't even clean up the dog crap in the backyard without vomiting..no joke!! But dead beetles? Eww!!! My old dog used to roll in horse poop when I took her to the stables..she would have stains all over her. Needless to say she didn't go that often!! :rotfl:

okay.....not that you all want to hear this, but i have a way worse gross-out doggie story than the dead beetle juice one. when sherman was a puppy we took him to the lake and he apparently decide it would be fun to eat a ton of goose poop when we weren't paying attention. we had him in his cage that was hooked up in the back of our truck on the way home and we stopped and got taco bell for dinner, then went to blockbuster for a movie. well, after we came out of blockbuster i went back to check on him and he was COVERED in puke that was pretty much just stomach gew and goose poop......:scared1: the poor little guy just stared at me and put his little paw up to the cage as if to say, "please help me!" we had to carry the entire cage into the house and put it on the side of the tub and just let him out into the tub, then take the cage outside and spray it out with the hose after we bathed him. dogs do the wierdest things!!! but i love them so.

My ribbon is sadly as updated as it gets... I started my weight loss efforts at 218, but joined WISH at 201. So I have 2 more lbs to go before I get my WISH 15 lb ribbon. Someday I want to have a 50 lb ribbon!!

oh, i gotcha. but if you've lost more than 10 there's a 10-pound ribbon too! i  changing my ribbon!

i don't know if those are symptoms of a concussion or not, but just wanted to send you some hugs... sorry i'm of no help!

Hellllloooo!

Is everyone having a wonderful Father's Day?
I called my dad and he wasn't home....:guilty:

My baby's daddy got a new BBQ which we tried out....STEAK! I'm so full of cow and A-1.

Punkin- GROSS!!!!! Why do dog's like gross stuff???? I thought you were going to say your dogs rolled in something dead and rotting. THAT is a titch grosser, if that's possible. Poor YOU! Your dogs were probably looking at you like, "WHAT'd'we'doooo?"

:lmao:

i'm *playing* with the idea of taking one of my best friends to WDW for her 30th birthday. her birthday is not until november, so it would be an early b-day present if we went in september, but totally worth it for the free dining. it would be a quickie trip, like just the weekend. like i said, i'm just playing with the idea. does anyone know if there's still nothing available at any of the value resorts the weekend of 9/21? or is anyone looking for a couple of female roommates for that weekend?

i would've posted this over on the peep meet thread, but i don't think everyone checks it regularly.

I did some cooking tonight, but it's it's not to be eaten until tomorrow. I made vegan sloppy joes (ds who is just home from college is a vegan, and it's healthy for all of us. You could substitute lean ground beef or turkey if you prefer. I made it w/turkey last week for a neighbor that just got out of the hospital). Here's the recipe:

1 lb. vegan ground meat substitute
1 1/4 c. bell pepper strips
1 1/4 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
3 garlic cloves
1 c. water
1 c. ketchup
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce

Heat a large nonstick skillet to medium high heat and "brown" the meat substitute. Add the bell pepper, celery, onion and garlic and cook and occasionally stir for 7 minutes, until the vegetables are soft. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 25 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Makes 6 servings, about 120 calories each. You can serve it over light bread, whole wheat buns, or ds likes it with tortillas. Hope somebody tries it. It has a great sweet and sour kind of taste.

Just posting to say Hi! :) I haven't been around all weekend with the wedding Saturday and Father's Day today. I'll post a few of the pics from the wedding once I get more work done on them. I'll try to catch up here tomorrow, but we'll see. I hope everyone had a great weekend! And I just posted an update on my trip report! ;) (shameless plug)

Night Peeps! :goodvibes

If my other Peep can't make it then we would have room for two more at OKW. There isn't free dining but the room is free so it evens out..actually I think it comes out to about $50 less for Sparkie then if we stayed at POP. ($150 less for me!)

Maybe you could call and see what they have and at least get the ressie. Then you have it and can cancel if you don't end up going??

It would be great if you could join us!! :wizard:

hey punkin, I think that free dining requires a minimum stay of 3 nights. Not sure if that matters to you? And, I have the 10 lb ribbon. :) I love changing my ribbon too!

Edit: Okay, I *thought* I had the 10 lb ribbon. I swear I changed it on Friday! Or at least, I thought I did... anyhow, it is changed now!

You're right...it does. It also requires you to buy at least a 1-day park pass so you won't be able to save money and get them online somewhere. But if I have room for you at OKW then you can buy your tickets anywhere. I just won't have an answer for you as to if I will have room until after we get home!

I hope everyone has a great day.....I am so tired this AM. I ironed all of DH's work shirts (remember he just wore a uniform for 11 years so this is all new to us!! ) so he won't have to worry about that week. Ugh. Ironing sucks and it took me forever. I should get the wrinkle free shirts but since we are on a budget we just buy whatever we can find in his size.

GOOD MORNING!:sunny:

TARA....:yay: on the skinny pants!!! Way to go!

BEE..... :wave2:
Melinda - I have a question about your formula for calories per day to lose weight. (goal weight x 12...)
I think you could try the goal weight calories first and if that doesn't seem like enough for you right now, you could pick an intermediate weight goal to start with. The last thing you want to do is put your body in starvation mode. If the body thinks that calories are in short supply, it will slow down the metabolism to hang on to the weight. I think I lost sort of 2 pds/week to start and about 1 pd/week towards the end. The closer you get to the goal weight, the slower it comes off. Try to find some healthy foods that you love (plus water & fiber) and it'll be easy.
and I was thoroughly shocked to have it read 188.4!!!
YAY!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Congratulations!
it was so gross! i had to give each of them a bath and i was gagging the whole time. i love my doggies but.....just ICK!!!!!! :headache:
:scared: Between your story and Jen's I feel I must finally come out of the closet and admit....I don't ever want another dog! We have an almost 16 yr old fox terrier who has lost her hearing, almost all of her eyesight and most certainly her equalibrium. We took her on a one-year lease. DH's neice was traveling to China for a year and needed someone to keep the dog while she was gone. Well...she never came back to get her and that was 12 years ago. Anyway, this dog used to do some of the same poop eating kind of things as your dogs. Don't get me wrong...I love other people's dogs...just don't want another one. :sad2:
We have never had a head injury before so I do not know what to think.
Is he OK, Heather?
i'm *playing* with the idea of taking one of my best friends to WDW for her 30th birthday.
YAY!!! :yay: Don't think too hard....booking for free dining ends next weekend.
I did some cooking tonight, but it's it's not to be eaten until tomorrow.
That sounds DELICIOUS! I really like the meat substitute and I LOVE sloppy joe's!

WHERE IS SANDY???

IS DENE LURKING OUT THERE ANYWHERE?

LURKING PEEPS.....COME OUT AND VISIT!

HAVE A GREAT DAY, ONE AND ALL!

I'm hoping Sandy is well! Shoot, I think she was abducted by aliens or something. It's snot like her!

And I totally miss Dene too.

Heyyyy, I'm going to that "My Girlfriend's Kitchen" again on Wednesday! :yay:

A freezer stocked with good food that I don't have to prep or dirty dishes is my cupoftea!

Good Morning Peeps!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Spent mine at mom's pool. Beautiful day for floating- cant say swimming as I dont get off the float. Did the cookout thing. All in all a great day.

Tara- congrats on the skinny pants. Hope your horse is all better too.

Kat- yippie on the magic of the scale!

Wonders- I dont have any real suggestions except that Mom has gotta leave the room. Kids always do better without the parent around. I dont think the problem is with the child having separation anxiety as it is the mother.

I was just skimming through and I know there was discussion about having children or not- Some of the people I encounter in my work have child after child after child without means to take care of them or desire to take care of them. Dont let anybody make you feel guilty for your personal decisions.

Amber:

Bee:

Have a great day!

I don't think they are too expensive, no... I just use it at the gym so I have never invested in one.

Crunches on them are "easy", well, easy to describe and get set up for, not that easy to actually DO many of them, hence the reason it works! You sit on the ball and then walk your feet out until the ball is resting in the curve of your lower back, and do crunches from there.

There are many exercises other than crunches you can do on the ball, including free weights. It helps with posture and core muscles as you have to use abs, back, legs at the same time that you are working out your upper body. If the ball doesn't come with an instruction manual/video, you can google search for exercises and I am sure there are sites with pictures and even video.
Thanks for the info! I was checking out exercise balls this weekend, and I came across one that also has these resistance bands for working your arms and chest. I get bored very easily with exercise routines, so it would be nice to have a few different options at my disposal.

YAY!! ABS!!! okay- 1) sit up the side of your bench,(edge of your chair if you dont have bench) and lean your torso back about 45 angle...hold onto the edge of the bench to hlep balance...stablize your abs straiten your legs, lift them off the florr and bring your knees to your chest...

2.) lie face down, raise up onto your elbows, and lift your body so you are up on your toes and elbows only...got to have strong tummy and back muscles...if your back hurts drop to your knees...make sure your butt isnt poking up- this is called Plank position so you want to look like a plank and be strait down the length of your body...

I'll have more later...gotta go run the kids
Thank you! :thumbsup2 These sound great, and I'm intending on starting them sometime this week! As I said before, I get bored quickly with exercise routines, so if/when I get an exercise ball I'll probably alternate between this kind of exercise and the ball.

I love the Home Depot Disney colors! It makes painting a lot more fun!
I hear that! When we were picking out colors for our new house, we couldn't decide on colors for the two spare bedrooms. Someday they'll be kids rooms, so we wanted to get something unisex so we wouldn't have to repaint. We looked and looked and couldn't find what we liked. Then we found the Disney Colors and that made our choices a lot easier. We ended up with Pooh's Corner (a pastel green) for one bedroom, and Dandelions for Roo (a light yellow) for the other room. Although I just think it was easier to choose because our options were limited when only looking at the Disney colors.

GOOD MORNING!:sunny:

Is he OK, Heather?

He is doing much better---at 11:00 he started perking up some and then decided to go to bed. Joshua annoyed him this morning and I get the feeling that all is well. It could have been just a combination of events yesterday. I think he got himself all worked up over the stitches and plus I am sure from the way his head looked--it hurt like you know what. I brought him to school with me todya and he is not happy about it--so I think we are in the clear.

Only 4 more day of summer school after this :cool1:

Hello, again!

Checking in periodically this morning as I am home with DS.

Just wanted to share that my favorite online Disney music player, MouseInfo Radio is now FULL of music from the POC soundtrack. :thumbsup2
