OK, OK, I admit I just posted these this morning over on the CB as a bribe for the Tag Fairy. :rolleyes1

:rainbow: I hope everyone has a great week!!! :rainbow:

We've been busy over here getting ready for my daughter's graduation. It's hard to believe the school year is almost over! So, does anyone have big plans for Mother's Day??? We usually go out to brunch, but we're staying home this year. My DH offered to take me flower shopping this weekend and then plant all of my spring flowers for me as I sit in the shade with a cool drink in my hand. Hmmmmm.... sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Good day Peeps!

This has been a very sad weekend. DH & I had the wake on Sat for our friend from church. There were so many people there! He touched so many peoples lives it was unbelievable! The funeral was Sunday at 4. I helped serve the "light dinner" afterwards, which was anything but "light"! :lmao: My main job was preparing 150 hot roastbeef sandwiches while others brought the trays out. Then I helped some with the clean up afterwards. There were so many people helping that it made it easy.

I wasn't sure we would would make it to the funeral, as after the wake I took DH to the hospital as he had been having chest pain since Thurs and didn't tell me until 5 am Sat morning! He wouldn't let me take him then, but decided he really needed to go in the afternoon. After 5 hrs in the ER, they admitted him for observation overnight. The cardiologist he saw on Sun morning doesn't think it is his heart and set him up for a stress test this week. He was released Sun morning. I am very thankful he is ok, but getting this checked out since he was so worried about it. I think more than anything DH needed the reassurance that he has a strong heart since he'll be 50 in a few weeks. :woohoo:

So many things I wanted to comment on. but marked yesterday when I was gonna post and didn't get a chance to. Oh well, if I remember, I'll be back!!!:goodvibes

Good Morning Peeps and Peepdude(s)

Hope all our peeps on vaca are having a great time!!

Eeyore-awesome job on the 45 minute run. That's pretty impressive.

I did MAJOR grocery shopping this weekend. Shopped Sams, Walmart and King Soopers (won't but my fresh fruits and veggies anywhere else). My kitchens are very full with good foods to eat. My menus are planned for the week. Hopefully I can stay on the wagon this week.

One of my finds this weekend was the new Chex 100 calorie chocolate caramel mix-YUM. Something we are trying at my house is salad and meat for dinner without rice or potatoes or biscuits. That's a hard change to make but I am feeling pretty good about it.

So glad that your husband is OK-tell him though that it is not OK to wait anymore if his heart hurts. He has to get it checked out immediately!!

I have another question for my Peeps. I am going on a job interview this afternoon at the Walmart Distibution Center. Since I am interviewing for a manual labor position in the freeezer dept is it all right to wear dress pants instead of a skirt?

Absolutely!

Have you tried the Cheese Chex mix 100 cal pack? Love them and there are so many in that tiny bag.

Salad and Chicken or Lean Steak is a staple dinner for us - and we used to always have rice or a potato with a veggie as a side dish. The key is to have a salad dressing you like and bulk the salad up - I usually put dried cranberries and some almonds or walnuts in my salad. Sometimes chickpeas too if I'm feeling really extravagant. I also usually eat 4 ounces of chicken instead of 3 since I'm not having the extra carbs from the rice or potato. I figure the extra protein is better if I feel like I need to eat more.

So I have been way overdue for an oil change and car checkup. I finally made it to the car dealership this morning right at 8 a.m. I had big plans to get it done quick, run a few errands and spend the afternoon at home doing school work and watching TV - maybe even taking a nap!

Well I'm sitting inside waiting and noticing that my car is still parked where I left it. The guy took my keys and info and told me to wait inside. But by this time it is after 9! I got there at 8! Ok, so its monday morning, I didn't have an appt. Just wait, Shannon. At 9:30, the car was still there so I saw "my guy". I asked him when my car might go in. He looked all confused and said "You've been here since 8?" umm, yeah...just for an oil change. about 20 minutes later, my car finally went back and the guy told me that they would be comping my oil change and the tire rotation I was due for :woohoo: I'm still not sure exactly what happened but I think if I didn't say anything, my car would still be sitting there! But at least it is done and my car is "healthy" for my WDW trip in, oh, 11 days!

And thanks for the advice on the hair. Gonna keep the highlights, get a trim and I'm still trying to figure out how I want these bangs (or fringe) to work. But my appt is not til Friday so I have time to decide.

Going to have some lunch and watch Full House - it's the WDW episode!

Gayle That is ... wow... :grouphug: Why is it they wait so long to say something?? My dh's family has heart disease - his dad died at 62 (and had 3 or 4 heart surgeries) so I know it can be stressful!! Make sure he has a thourogh check up THIS WEEK - an ER on a weekend does NOT count!!

Absolutely, teachers are interviewing in nice slaks, suits for women are slowly being phased out here - not sure on all jobs tho...

Thanks for the tip on the 100 calorie paks, I've just seen them in cookie/craker form - but then someone gave me a choc covered pretzel... that's just wrong!! YUM!!

and I'm also trying to phase out the potatoe/rice/bread - not so easy - and I've scaled back pasta to once every other week, and have given up pizza fridays apparently!! Now to try and add fish once a week, or a no meat meal..

Going to head out on my 45 min run! oyveh...

Has anybody ever done a fridge swap?

Any rental car tips-

I'm really cheap- I want a minivan for 250 for a week- dont think I'm going to find it. I am worried about magical express taking too long. I want to get off my plane and be instantly to my hotel and I dont want to leave until the last possible minute. It says with ME that I have to be back at my hotel 3 hrs before my flight leaves. And to expect the ride from the airport to the hotel to be at least 2 hrs- even though its a 20-30 min drive.

My computer has gone to Computer heaven. :badpc: I am in full blown Dt's from missing the Dis this weekend. We have spetn our days (& nights) in Auburn with the baseball thing...

I am going to be good this week, just stealth posting from work to let you know I miss you guys and I will hopefully be able to post thru dismom for weigh in til I can get mine fixed or get a new computer...have a skinny week! hugs & prayers to those who might need it

Keep On Slimmin

Sparkie, when my DH and I went to WDW last September we spent our last night at the WDW Hilton b/c we had a free night so no Magical Express back to the airport . . . ME got us to our hotel (POR) within 90 minutes of landing in Orlando and we used the discounts at Mousesavers.com to get a rental car for the last night of the trip ($25)!! We just took the bus from POR to MGM and hopped the boat to the Dolphin where we picked up our rental car from National, and then checked out of POR and into the Hilton and drove ourselves to the airport the next morning. It worked great!! If you are a Costco member by any chance they have some great rental car discounts on their website (membership is only $35 so it might be worth it depending on how much you can save)!!

I am here, like Harley said we were in Auburn watching our "little" boys(that is what the two younger boys have always been called even though they aren't so little anyore) play in a tournament.I didn't eat so good but I didn't snack like I usually do when we watch them.

Someone mentioned mother's Day.I told DH any money they would spen on me I wanted to go to my Disney fund and I want a nap. That is all.:goodvibes

Aries,I think you were the one that mentioned a while back that you are confuzzled by my ticker because of my ticker and the PEEP meet.I am taking a family trip the beginning of September (it was planned before the mention of the meet) and then Harley and I are going to try to come for a day or two of the meet. Her mom works for Delta and we hope to fly in for the weekend.

Talk more later gotta pick up the kiddos!!:upsidedow

Shula

Thanks for the info. I have a sam's club membership- I think I will give them a call and see what I can arrange.

Ok- I got a pm from the fridge swap board- cost $5 but they want my ressie # to hold the fridge for me-

I dont know about giving that info out to a stranger- what do you all think?

ME is fantastic - the line to check in for ME seems so very long - but it moves very, very fast - we've got it down, dh goes to the luggage claim, I run to ME to check in - beating the luggage people, but in with those that check their luggage with ME (we never do ) then the line for your resort, the values hold more people, so more people in values use ME, so ME has more buses running to and from Values I've noticed, so again, we've never waited more than 15 min for the ME bus -

I'm also considering checking out a rental for part of our stay, because sometimes the bus transportation drives me crazy - but in the end I probably wont!!

AH, Baseball!! Well keep checking in

 Hi Shula - glad to see you Christy!!

I think the fridge swap is very economical for $5 vs $10 a day - but you do need to trust and give them your ressie# so they can get the fridge to you - and you do have to clean it very well and get it packed back up for the next person..

we dont really use a fridge, but I bring my rolling ice chest and fill it with ice to keep stuff cold!

Happy Monday peeps. I have been MIA for a day or so, and let me tell you I can tell. It seems as though when I am not checking in here, I sort of check out of dieting as well. Back on the wagon as of now though. Just had a bad girl lunch, very un-peep like...so I am going to count it and move on. Low cal dinner and maybe some more exercise. My dance kids were wild again today. You can tell summer is coming. So they gave me a good workout chasing them around this morning...I need more too help burn some of this icky fat filled weekend out of my body.

I was watching celebrity fit club and the Dr there said that your body can tell when you have been losing weight and it resists...makes you crave stuff to gain it back. It really stinks we are wired that way! Too bad I didnt see that before I blew it big time this weekend :sad2:

I admit I only read the current page. Need to try to go back and catch up on the weekend, but it doesnt seem like we were very chatty!
Has anybody ever done a fridge swap?
YES! I did one at Pop last Sept and it was fantastic. I would love to do it again, but my dates are taken on all the Pop ones. IF we drive instead of fly, I may bring one with us. I loved having it but I refuse to pay $10/day for it.
