DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

I'm in the same boat right now. I've lost a pants size, so all of my work pants and jeans are really baggy. I have like three pairs of khakis that I wear to work, all the same type. (When I find something that looks good on me, I load up!) They don't have a button, but rather a metal latch thing. The problem is when I cinch up my belt, this latch thing slips out and I am basically walking around with only my belt and my zipper keeping my pants on. And my jeans, oy. I look like a slob in them now. We were out shopping last weekend, and I found a pair of jeans that I loved at either the Tommy Hilfiger or Old Navy outlet store. They fit great, but then I realized that with summer coming, I only wear jeans once a week for casual Friday at work. And what if i drop another size or two by the end of summer? That would be $35 for pants I would only feel comfortable in 5 or 6 times. Not worth it.

Well, the move itself was interesting. By our 13th straight hour of moving last week Sunday (4/22), we were really being short with each other. And we had some tense moments Monday and Tuesday finishing up. But we got through it ok. Living with our parents has been interesting, but we are starting to get into a routine. Both of our parents have been giving us plenty of space, which is much appreciated. And we are planning a weekend getaway the beginning of June just to be alone for a while. But this whole experience really makes me appreciate having a place of our own. So I think I am going to enjoy that new home that much more once we get to move in.

Me too! Most of my pants are held on with a big safety pin!!!! I should just go to a thrift store and get some in a smaller size to tide me over.

Nothing more stressful than moving!!!! Hang in there!

Congrats UM and dance!!

Karen, I am so sorry. I have been through the layoff-go-round 3 times in my life, and it is never fun even when you are prepared for it.

Today I went off a bit and went to the sushi buffet for lunch, so I am at:
B: Toaster Scramble (160)
L: Sushi... a salad (50?) and 6 nigiri (not eating rice) and about 12 pieces of rolls. I tried to pick the rice off the edges, and ate only the piece of fish off the top of the nigiri, so I am counting it at about 400 cals? Could be as much as 600...

I am going to try and sneak out early and catch 30-45 min on the elliptical before heading home today, but that will depend on boss-man and company.

Lost 12 pounds - but this isn't really a good (or healthy) thing.

DH lost his job (of 22 years) a week ago Tuesday, and we are both still reeling physically, anyway, from the shock. Eating and sleeping became, apparently, something we really no longer needed to do. Not a diet I'd recommend to anyone, btw :sad2:

 i'm so sorry to hear that! and i'm also really sorry to hear about the cancelled trip. i know how heartbreaking that is, both of them. it's good to see that you're looking at the situation with a positive view, though. not very many people can do that. your husband is lucky to have you!!! :)

:confused3 You DON"T eat when your stressed???? :confused3
That's when I do the MOST eating!!! :lmao:

nope. i have a nervous stomach and when i'm stressed i can't even think about food. my stomach just turns constantly. but i'm not talking about everyday stress. i'm talking about "big stuff" stress. for example, when my dad had open heart surgery i couldn't eat the day before or the day of just because i was too stressed out and nervous.

celery - did you say you were from nashville a few pages back or did i imagine that?

Yep. Born and bred. Lived here almost my whole life.

Eeyore - tell your negative half to hush! Only let the positive talk.
Put the other one in the corner.
I have to rotate with all my personalities so everyone gets a turn.

 to Karenell

punkin, I am the same way... severe stress/worry makes me almost physically unable to eat.

Low-grade stress, though, packs on the lbs like crazy!!

hey, guys! i just paid all my bills for the next two weeks and figured out that we have around $600 to play with while at WDW. our trip is paid in full and we're on the DDP, so that amount would be to cover tipping that's not included on the DDP (sometimes i give more - it's the ex-server in me!), souvenirs, alcohol, on-the-road a/k/a fast-food meals, any extra food/snacks we want to buy, admission to kennedy space center (around $35 per person, i think), our one-night bed and breakfast stay in titusville, florida ($80) and dinner at dixie crossroads (a seafood restaurant that's been highly recommended to me) in titusville after KSC. think we'll be okay? this is our first trip to disney since we've been adults, so i've never budgeted for it before. i know you guys are the experts! ;)

Yep. Born and bred. Lived here almost my whole life.

i thought so! i was born and raised in gallatin, just north of nashville. my entire family still lives up there. my sister works at pf chang's on west end and my brother at ted's montana grill on west end. you ever eat there? melinda is from kentucky, around lexington. right, melinda? anyway, just wanted to say hello to a fellow tennesseean! :wave2:

Hi Peeps! I hope everyone is having a skinny day!:yay:

[What did the Dr. give you? Did you get a Z-pack? You should be feeling better by now. Sorry!
:

I am on 1000 mg. of Augmentin twice a day for ten days. My fever is finally gone and my throat is looking better but it is still so swollen! My neck hurts on the inside and outside.

Awww, Belle! Hope you feel better really, really soon! :flower3:
Thank you!:)

I used to get strep all the time growing up. I'm still pretty prone to it. Once I had Mono and strep at the same time. Horrible!! I feel for you..having a sore throat is worse then anything else. Feel better soon!!!! :flower3:
I agree!! Thank you!!:)

I am off to the chirpractor this am. I threw out my back yeterday struggling with DD, long story for later I suppose, and I hav ebeen unable to stand up since then. UGH. I have a bad back but it has never done this. :sad2:

I hope your back feels better soon! :flower3:

OK, I don't know how to post my weigh in this week. Attn: Wendy - Here's what I've got. Do with it what you will. So, 2 weeks ago (my last weigh in), I was at 211.6, I think. Last week, I got several different numbers, all hovering around the 224-225 mark. :confused3 This week, I am at 221.2 (according to the same scale - I haven't exchanged it yet.). So, IF the 211.6 was accurate, I gained and have lost part of that gain, but I am finding it hard to believe that my numbers have been accurate over the past few weeks. Count this however you want Wendy. PM me if you want. I am hoping to go looking at scales tonight for a possible exchange later this weekend.

I did! Actually, it was the first thing I ate! When I went to take Jasper out (the first thing I do in the morning), I was soooooo groggy, and she was sooooooo groggy. And I decided to pop a Dove square in my mouth before heading outside. I don't drink soda during the week anymore, so I figured this would serve as my 'feine fix and maybe wake me up a little. I did it again today too! ;)

I think your scale is way off! Especially since you are down a size. Chocolate for breakfast? You are my kind of girl.:thumbsup2 I have been know to sprinkle a few chocolate chips into my bowl of oatmeal. It kind of tastes like a no-bake cookie.
Down .5 yes, POINT 5 big whoop... cause it will return tomorrow I'm sure

I'm to meet fdil for lunch - I am depressed. I am continuing to focus more on the runs - today I'm going all out and hope to make it 2.5 miles, with a 3 or 3.5 mile run on Sunday (ok my goals are more for the event/competiton thread)

My mind is playing games with me, negative self talk is intruding - I feel like a drama queen.

You are beautiful, smart and you can do this! You are stronger than that inner voice! Your peeps KNOW you can do it!!:grouphug: :grouphug:

+ 0.8 lbs

Yes it is a gain but I did fall off the wagon for about 3 weeks and I missed about 3 WW meetings. So considering all that, gaining less than a pound is pretty miraculous. Plus going back to my meeting last night really helped to remind me that I do want it and I'm ready to start fresh. Although I'm very confused as to why I did not gain more. When I say I fell off the wagon, I mean it. I was binging and eating fast food, candy. But usually I skipped a meal whereas before I'd eat that too...maybe that's why? :confused3 Anyway, it won't be happening again anytime soon.

I have a meeting (over the phone) to talk to my supervisor about my externship sites for the fall and winter. I have to do a semester in pediatrics and 1 semester in adults. Send pixie dust that she is helpful and can get me into a good site. She is a little loopy and it took me forever just to set this meeting up!

Have a great Friday Peeps! In 2 weeks, I'll be hanging with my friend at WDW!
pixiedust: and prayers for your placement next year!

Lost 12 pounds - but this isn't really a good (or healthy) thing.

I think that will be enough. If you are really worried you could always wait to buy your souvenirs until the last day to see how much you have. I think you will be fine! I am so excited for you! I hope you have a great time!!party:

SO sorry you are sick Belle I must have missed your post about it, I was probably in my corner kicking.

Please take it easy it is so easy to "think" you should be better when iin fact your not. Hey now is someone making you some home made chicken soup?????? If not will be happy to send it your way!!!

Karenell adding :grouphug: and prayers! I hope your dh has a placement/headhunter/resume service - if not, find one, call a local community college - there is free help out there! Good Luck, think forward!! and I am so sorry you have that huge hole by having to do the right thing by cancelling your dream WDW trip - take time to get him on the right track with a job placement service - then redo!!

Thanks everyone - I actually did a 45 min run - and for those that think you are not runners - that is SO me!! I cant tell you how hard it was to get over that hurdle, those first 4 weeks of just moving forward walking... screaming I hate running, and I cant do it! Now today 45 minutes... :faint: I know a huge factor is my dh's support, getting another trip to WDW, and of course shopping - you do have to have the right outfit!! ;) ;)

Hi Peeps! I hope everyone is having a skinny day!:yay:

Love your PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)!

I do need your help on this next friday.

I'm not even packed at all, but I'm doing laundry so I'll be ready to pack the night before.
