Is Noodles a schnauzer mix or a Carrin or a yorkie (or none of the above)??

Oh how cute!!

I will add a kitty to the mix:

On a weight-loss note, I re-discovered today that magazines + elliptical = 45 min and 3.1 miles before I hardly noticed!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

:welcome: You are more than welcome. Tell us about yourself and post often so we can get to know you! What a beautiful family you have!

Thank you lexmelinda you are sweet and thank you for making me feel welcome:) And everyone else too!

Well about me, I am a housewife, mother of 4. My two little ones are miracle babies.

I was born in Costa Rica, became a Texan 1n 1982 when I came to college and four years later married my wonderful husband of almost 20 years.

We live in Texas, on Wednesday we are leaving to go to New Mexico to take my son to college, my first baby to leave home and 11 hours away. Needless to say I am heartbroken,:sad1: We are a super close family, but he got a football scholarship and what do you do.

I have always had a weight problem, and have lost weight in the past, but always put it back on. So here we go again, my husband and I are trying to be healthy once again. (He needs to lose weight because he has some health issues) It has been six weeks and the rascal has lost 25 lbs, as for me, well I think about 6, I forgot to weigh the first day.

We are trying to eat low carb, I have done the WW before but I just can't get myself to journal again. I walk and do the elliptical trainer; soon I will start with the weights. I don't enjoy that as much so it takes me a while to get motivated to do that, but I how I gotta do it.

So that is it for now, I want to answer others but I am not real sure how to multi-quote, anyone can help me with that.

Punkin you were right this is a real chatty group; I need to stay on the ball to keep up with it :)
Love the pics of the fat puppy, that belly is just adorable.

I gotta run, I am taking my brother and his family to the airport...they are on their way to WDW!!

We live in Texas

:wave2:Dance & I also live in Texas! We both live near the DFW area... I need to try to "do lunch" with her sometime before school starts.

Hey, Dance... feel like going to the Rainforest Cafe in Grapevine Mills?

first off, the multi-quoting thing.....see that little quotation mark and plus sign next to the "quote" button. if you hit that on every post you want to quote, it will quote all of the ones you indicate when you hit "post reply". it should turn orange when you click on it.

secondly, i don't think there's any certain weight loss plan that works for everyone. everybody's different and you have to find what works for you. i've tried a lot of things - south beach, atkins, slimfast, etc. the one thing that's working for me is just drinking lots of water, exercising with weights and cardio about 4 times a week and writing down EVERYTHING i eat and keeping my calories around 1,500 per day. but like i said, you just have to stick with what works for you....the hardest part is figuring out what that is! good luck!!! :goodvibes

If you have a moment and are good at "buzz words" I'm trying to fill out an application - essay question...
Describe skills necessary to be an outstanding teacher... (quality, each child can succeed, passion for education and students.... Learning for all teach work collaboratively... implement power standards, with excitement, and a variety of techniques, raises level of achievement thru the use of a variety of techniques, to help students become LifeLong learners... effective teacher is always learning...

I have to brainstorm and I have no one to talk to - I always get great help from other teachers to bounce off ideas until I come up with a comprehensive spiel!!

the other one I cant even begin is How would you address a wide range of skills and abilities in your classroom - and I would use Glasser Method of Choice Theory, and differentiate wow this one is easier,

brb with my notes are shaping up on #2

How would you address a wide range of skills and abilities in your classroom?

I believe every child is unique. I would use a variety of techniques and strategies I have learned from the training I have received. (Including Glasser's Choice Theory, Bernstein's Artful Learning, and Understanding by Design) I would use manipulatives, movement, visual aides, music, etc. I would differentiate the content of what is taught, and vary the pacing based on the student's needs. I would use cooperative and flexable grouping.

????:confused3 ????

I'm going to "look" at a cat tomorrow morning to see if he is a nice kitty (and if he gets along with the Maggie May). My coworker found him in her backyard and he's been hanging out eating on her patio -- so she's looking for a home for him... His pic is below:

And this is Maggie (my little love) with half of me...:

pixie dust, what kind of dog is that, hes really cute!!

He's a mutt. We're not sure just what he is. The vet thinks he might be part Rhodesian RIdgeback, but he has something else in him too, because he doesn't have the ridge! He was one of those free puppoes in front of store. My friend picked him up and couldn't keep him so I lucked out!

For those of you who have completed the Harry Potter book (I haven't yet) and are looking for some more exciting and :wizard: like reading, I have updated my TR!!!!!! Sorry for being MIA guys. Rough 2 days here. Somebody stole my DD and replaced her with a really stubborn and rude little girl the past 2 days. Sort of made me wonder why I was going to do this all over again ;) Actually, it is not really her fault. My sister had her overnight because I had a bad headache that tylenol wasnt touching and she returned her tired and cranky...going on 2 days later now and we are almost back to having our sweet little girl back!

I knew it was DANCE--saw your cookies and that was all I could think about:love: . Thank you for your opinion :thumbsup2 I will have to go check out the craft stores and see what I can find. I think I want the characters and not the stick on stuff--just not sure. I have until mid September.
There are lots of ways to do what you are trying, but totally possible. So are you thinking you want the characters made out of something edible, or just plastic figures? There are cake stores here that sell all sort of plastic characters I could check for them for you :goodvibes (Any excuse to visit the cake store for me is a good one for me) There are ways to make them out of frosting that are pretty cool. You print the image on paper in a reverse image, cover it with wax paper and use icing to basically copy it. It is called a frozen buttercream transfer. If you are feeling brave, I can send you a link with directions. Maybe you could find a pic with all the characters together (or most of them) and do it that way. If you lived close, I would do it for you...I love a challenge!

Remember when I mentioned that my mom had to go for a second mammogram to compare the results with the first? Well she made the appointment for this Friday morning if you all could just send some pixie dust and prayers her way. I know it is routine but I'm sure she's a little nervous and I know I am as well. I keep asking her if she wants me to go with her and she says no. But I'll ask again tomorrow.

Thanks Peeps! :flower3:
:wizard: I will be thinking of her!

Sounds fun to me. DD LOVES the 'jungle restaurant' and I love that mall....did you know they have a Disney outlet now?? She doesnt go back to school until early Sept, but I start wokring more full time the 3rd week of August. Anytime before that works for us.

Hope everyone has skinny dreams tonight and a good weigh in tomorrow. I promise to try to check in later or early tomorrow. DD is amazingly playing quietly for the first time in 2 days, so I can actually check my messages and DIS a bit. DH is home tonight too, thank goodness!
